  • Old busted sheds can be had for pennies and fixed up to look practically new and function just the same. It takes some labor of love but costs next to nothing compared to buying a brand new shed.

You can use a simple bottle jack to help lift the shed. You can also utilize leverage (like a see-saw) to elevate/move the shed as needed. 1 4x4 post and some cinder blocks will do. Just need some muscle no tractor needed (but def helps alot!)

A buddy and myself flipped a different shed onto its backside and removed the floor that way and flopped it down onto a new floor. took alot but is doable

I also have an Old Shed which was in bad shape because rotted wood due to water infiltration. I fixed it myself instead of hiring someone or buy a new one. It's a lot of hard word but at the end of day it's worth it for the effort. I also shared videos of how I repaired it.

I used a floor jack to elevate mine. Part of it was so rotted the floor was easy to separate. I’m having trouble on the other side though. The building is insulated and has plywood walls inside. I don’t really wanna tear the inside walls out. I’m thinking of running a sawzall to cut all the nails and screws between floor and wall.

    • @appalachiandiy2415

Dang, I have a shed I have to repair. Part of the floor needs replaced but I don't think I will replace all of it. My shed was made out of Hardy board for the exterior, it's mostly held. Water got in on part of the floor near the door. I hope I don't have to replace the whole floor, I don't have anything to lift it up.

  • @chaskinsnc

as many have commented, I was going to replace my T11 half or all. I love the 4" idea. That will save $$$. What is rule of thumb on some kind of critter guard around the shed? some report that you need a cat size opening to keep mice out but I want to keep the possums out.

If I have a tool at my disposal, why not use it?! this can still be done without a tractor. Use 2x4's and cinder blocks to use as a lever and you can easliy flip it on end. Ya gotta work smarter not harder!

I have an old shed that I want to move and rebuild pretty much same size but I was thinking of putting it on pavers instead of having a wood floor since I'll be welding in it occasionally. But not sure exactly how I'll do that or if it's possible.

    • @appalachiandiy2415

to buy a new shed like this would have cost between $800-$1000. to build one would have taken 2x longer and been between $300-$400. By just fixing it up a little I saved tons of time and money.

This video is ridiculous. Only $100 if the shed is away from property, raised AND you have access to a bobcat . Boo this man
For those who can't lift the shed away from the base , you will need to cut along the perimeter where the floor meets the base and flush cut it. Side up some joist runners and run new plywood
