I really enjoy your history vlogs you do a great job. Backroad vlogs would be fantastic. Lots of history to see on American back roads. Keep up the great vlogs
I support your plan on the backroads tour
Thank you Captain, a most excellent tour!
I'm happy to see you finding these cool places in South Jersey! There is a lot to explore and many back roads to drive on.
That was a good video captain! Keep up the good work
Oh noice! Batsto Village. I love the Pine Barrens. our elementary schools did 6th/5th grade trips to Mt. Misery. Also,The Brooksbrae Brick factory ruins are covered in street art, some people hate it some love it. I think its awesome
awesome history and great places to visit
What a beautiful history story. I'll never get to your area so I very much appreciate you taking me along. You have the best voice for taking people on tours...you sound like Huell Howser. Yes, come along and sail with the Captain would be a catchy little phrase for you. 😊
Many years ago, my grandparents had a little cottage in the Pineys at Laurel Lake. I used to spend summers there with them, trekking through the woods, swimming and fishing in a lake of "cedar water," picking wild blueberries in the woods in the autumn.... Gosh, I miss those days. This video was a shot right in the nostalgia- thanks, Cap.
Hey Philly Captain, great video and history talk at historic Batsto Village-Pine Barrens of NJ..Very exciting..Enjoy & Tootles..
EXCELLENT!
Touring history with the Captain 👍 Corn cribs aren't used anymore because birds, mice, rats could eat the harvest before humans got to eat it. Much crop loss.
This was fun!!! Thank you 😀
😂 Eric the Actor...was that a Howard Stern reverence?
I still have my mom’s sweatshirt from here with the Jersey Devil on it! Haven’t been there in a long time, but I still wear it.
Back road trips are amazing. I always get off the beaten path when I travel. In 2013, I took 5 days and drove 2500 miles on the back roads of Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, into Saskatchewan back into Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado. I drove on interstates less than 100 miles of that tour. What a trip!
I used to go off-roading with my buddies in the Pines when I was in HS especially the trails in Wharton St Forest and the craziest thing ever was when we accidentally stumbled upon the old KKK church that’s tucked away back there. Creepiest vibes ever. Also Pine Barrens was easily top 5 TV show episodes of all time!
Hi I love your videos are awesome
Used to have 7th and 8th grade overnight field trips. Great video. Thanks for teaching me about Batsto even though I live about 30 -40 minutes away. Makes me want to go and explore.
Thank you for the tour!
I have been in Batsto a few times. I have canoed the Batsto river. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the bog iron railroads. These ran from the bogs to the river to take the ore to the boats. The boats would travel down the river to Batsto to the iron works. It’s the iron that gives the rivers there dark color. I have explored alot of those abandoned lines.
Thank you captain for ur adventures
Don’t go camping in the Summer there. The mosquito’s are the size of bald eagles.😂
Nice ...Wharton State Park//Batsto
Place is pretty cool 😎
Found you with The Woo. Really enjoy you channel.
Cranberry Festival is always the Third Weekend in October in Tabernacle, New Jersey. You can do tours of the cranberry fields/marshes.
Tabernacle or Chatsworth?
@@dreadede Where they somewhat collide, some call it Chatsworth. Lots of vendors but he can get a tour of the cranberry fields, at least you could 3 years ago, which was the last time I attended.
@@BeachChairSays ok, that’s why I asked. I come from the other direction so we call it Chatsworth. I’ll probably go next week. Got to go to Hot diggity dog!!! 🌭🌭🌭🌭
This is an enjoyable video
About 20 years ago when I had a horse some of us went riding through the pine barrens, people that owned the horse ranch did carriage rides in Batsto for a couple of seasons.
Great tour, Cap. Thanks so much. My wife and I were there last summer and really enjoyed it. Hey, if you're going to tour and write a book (what a great idea!) take a look at "Blue Highways" by William Least Heat Moon. Might give you some extra inspiration.
You should’ve come next week on the 20th on Sunday they have a big country living fair. It’s a huge event there.
I have a movie premier this weekend.
This reminds me of Hopewell National Park! Hopefully you can visit it as well.
A stable is the building, the stalls are the individual spaces for the animals.
cool vid! thanks. you and Mr woo both had the jersey devil in your vlogs today. spooky!
Great video. I gotta check that place out.the pine barrons was the funniest episode of the sopranos
Great video..thanks for taking us😊
Thanks for taking us along. Great video. 👍
If you take route 206 south, pass the Vincen town diner, go through the circle stay on 206 south there is a sign that says "Batso" make a left. You will be in Batso.
Mercer Museum in Doylestown! There's a vampire museum near there too. Very seasonal!
The mansion has a gravity fed sprinkler system, that’s the tank on top.
Thanks that place was awesome I enjoyed watching
Damn I live like 5 minutes from there. I wish I knew you were there today.
When Rich Kotite was in town 30 odd years ago, he would frequent a Wawa just outside the immense Pine Barrens in South Jersey.
Very cool video! Love those ghost towns. You ought to biotic Bodie State Park in CA next time you’re in the neighborhood of Yosemite. It’s an hour or so away from the park and absolutely amazing!
I like your plan to tour the backroads! Book sounds like an interesting project… looking forward to more on both.
Those alien documentaries are pretty good on history UA-cam channel and Sam and Colby is a pretty good channel
Cedar Bridge does a reenactment on December 17th every year
Love the history vlogs Captain PS Isn’t there a Wharton ave in the city?
Ticks are bad there!
Erik the actor😂 a vailed reference to us in the know.😂. Love your videos
Wow
Is this where the Phillies hitting went?
From Delco grandparents had a trailer in the pine Barron's many times as a kid I would look outside wondering what the devil was or looked like new jersey must be the darkest state at nighttime and very foreboding. Hey captain chk out hammerhead bat that's what people getting a glimpse of and the alien appearance of the hammerhead is a incredibly close match to the descriptions of the jersey devil.
* People might be seeing
Anymore you won't find much of the old forgotten towns.
Unfortunately, people have destroyed and graffitied most of the old ruins.
Back in the late 70's and early 80's I photographed most of these old ruins before they were messed up.
Had a jeep back in them days to get around to these places.
I just hate to see what has happened to some of these places.
Rosalita
Come to Florida you will drive on a lot of dirt roads 😂
👹👻
Piney Power.

I loved the history lesson and the excursion into the past. You may be on to a new direction but stay away from naked bikers.
Oooh, a ghost town. Perfect place for phillies fans to go cry in.
This guy deserves more subscribers 🫵🐻❄️👌
I think this was my favorite video Captain🫡... I liked it alot good job!!!!!
