    Great vid! Everyone always wants bigger numbers, but they forget about SIZE. Sometimes the best thing is the perfect fit! Great job really clean build!

    I don't know if you've noticed it yet, but in the paper manual for the new G2 motors in the Max 5 they're showing a listing for a 4990 G2 1650kv motor now rated up to 8s. Going to be an absolute killer in a lightweight xmaxx or xrt build. I've ran my current 1650kv hobbywing motor for over a year on 8s and it's a beast so I can't wait for the max6 g2 system.

      I've never had a 1650kv survive 8s for more than 1 run. They always come apart

      @@ExocagedRC That's crazy, mine started out in a Mojave with occasional 8s runs and then transfered to the xmaxx for a lightweight setup with a mmx8s and it's probably had well over 50 runs on 8s. Maybe got a lemon but this new should be rated for 8s so might be worth a try to see how it handles the xmaxx

      @@ExocagedRC I guess I'll add that early on I swapped out the bearings for abec 5's from Jim's bearings that are rated for higher speeds. If that made a difference I have no clue

    Definitely a cool motor. I see this with the G2 Max 5 making its way into many XMAXXs and XRTs. Maybe even into Arrma 8s vehicles.

    For those bullets I use a torch and some extra flux on the wire. Fill with hot solder and dab the wire in. Super easy.

    Hi love the vid! I have a question. I got the new max6 g2 with the 1250kv motor combo however I noticed I can't use a 20t pinion as it doesn't mesh with the spur gear. So do I have to now use bigger pinions? If so what's the minimum size I could use? I'm using the m2c motor mount for the xrt. Please help!!!!

    Does lower kv mean more power? Motor numbers confuse me

  • @kenneth_jensen
    @kenneth_jensen Рік тому

    Awesome motor 👍 But isn't it still low in kv? My crawler motor is faster (not the crawler it self) 😁
    I guess it is just a matter of gearing it up 😎

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  Рік тому

      the bigger 8s motors and 12s motors are lower in KV but they have insane torque so we gear them up and when on 8s or 12s they spin pretty high for their size.

      @@ExocagedRC lol oh boy!!! Ok well I’m trying to optimize my XRT with a belt drive system on this exact 1250KV motor and currently 20/25 (1.25 ratio) seems too tall of gearing motor gets hot fast. I see you didn’t even have fans on so by that measure going to 15/25 a 1.66 ratio should run a lot better..You were 1.76

    • @overdosed51
      @overdosed51 Рік тому +1

      It all depends on your vehicles weight and gearing. A 1250kv motor is for a large heavy truck. Somthing like an 8th scale. The higher the # the more RPMs but less tourqe.

    • @FarmerFpv
      @FarmerFpv Рік тому +1

      Depends on the size of the vehicle and can size. Lots of variables to picking a motor. A 5690 can size like in this video has plenty of torque at 1200kv which is why you can go up in the gearing compared to the stock motor.

    • @tdgshadow90

      You think it would be worth to wait for max 6 with this motor or would the max 5 just be better?

    • @gboulter
      @gboulter Рік тому +1

      @@tdgshadow90 Without more info impossible to say. If it's on a Traxxas car I woud expect the 6 to be best as Keeping them light is key. On an Arrma car good fans and a 5 is probably best. I know with the 800KV max 5 G2 combo it runs much cooler with more power and control than the G1 V3 did.

  • @Saudi.UsRaeli
    @Saudi.UsRaeli Рік тому

    pity, because 1050 KV would be perfect.. The big one with 800KV and the small one here have about the same performance.. It's smaller by almost 1/4 lighter, but also almost 1/4 KV.. They pull about the same amount of power.. Well, you can then reduce the timing and/or punch on the controller if the power is too much for you.. Yes, I have it in my X-Max and a Lehner 22:80 925-Kv and cr .900gr. heavy.. Despite significantly less KV, the Lehner motor with 8S has about the same power and stays the same cool..
