In fairness, they are a military government, and this was their first time discovering a new species (probably). I can believe that the Turians wouldn't handle the situation perfectly.
@@CalypsoRaven618 Incorrect, the Turians had joined the Citadel 1200 years before the first contact war, they have seen many aliens and were very advanced . There is no excuse, they knew better.
@@CalypsoRaven618There's a hologram recording in the ME3 dlc where Turian soldiers during the first-contact literally mock their human captive for using "primitive" weaponry. The Turians put down an entire Krogan uprising & sterilized them for good measure. If not given the order to stand down - they would've seen the extinction of humans as little more than pest-control.
Always loved this scene. Never knew there were so many options. Lots of scenes in ME1 surprise me with the sheer amount of dialogue choices. I love how your squadmates can drastically change the direction of the conversation. Thanks for compiling this.
Mass Effect 3 has more fun combat, but the writing and dialogue falls off a cliff, ME1 easily had the best world building and roleplaying elements. And to be fair, once you get high explosive ammo on a shotgun, ME1 suddenly has some of the most fun guns in the series lol
Wrex's interactions with Saracino are my favorite of the lot, especially the response to why humans shouldn't feel comfortable expressing their opinions at gunpoint like the aliens. "Because they have bigger guns." Though now I can't stop thinking about possible interactions between Wrex and Ashley. I am not sure it is expressed in-game, but I can see the two getting into a spat over who has more of a right to be angry with the turians: Ashley for what her family endured at Shanxi, or Wrex for having to endure the genophage. Otherwise, am tempted to ask: is it possible to also request the Elias Keeler quest (that one guy who wants you to get him a mental stimulant) and the subsequent news broadcasts? Just asking because that's another one of my favorite moments around this point of the game, especially if you decide to slip him an 'alternative' product.
Oh, so he had to literally be *in* Shanxi to have an opinion on the almost-subjugation of humanity. I see. I never saved Ashley, now I know where that funny feeling came from. Besides, Kaiden's response sounda more appropriate. Even though ita obvious he doesnt trust the Rhetorc, he at least speaks where its obvious he doesnt claim to know anything about, or have any real investment in the political party itself.
Yes, he had :) Terra Firma's agenda labeled General Williams as an equal to Quisling and Arnold. So Ashley has a very strong reason to hate these fellas. Good for Saraceno that she doesn't know yet whose front his party is...
This guy actually does make a good point, the Turians were absolutely out of line with what they did to the humans.

and that justifies mass genocide of all aliens how?

And yet so many people think ME3 is better than this game. What a joke!
@@williamkerfoot8039it's all subjective.
ME 3 to me is way better overall and more fun than the janky and static feeling ME 1

Renegade goes from "Cram your honor" and "You're useless" to "you are 100% right and I totally support you". Nice character consistency 💀
Dude, you don't know this character until you talk to him. The dialogue plays out fine.

HAHAHA! Wrex in the Phoenix armor! Good times.

funfact; in the german version is the name of terra firma trockenland (dryland)
Charles Saracino is a hero.
If you're anti-alien one step below Cerberus then yes. He is.
