The lord of the rings Riveldell set Page 98 the White fence pieces there are 5 of them but you should only plaxe 3 and 2 appears from nowhere and only on the Page 103 it requieres to place them
Noticed that too. The car is 1:24 but that got flipped in the script. You see the correct scale on the box. Thought it was funny how he emphasized the 4 in the first 42 and the 2 in the 2nd 42.
@@SpitBrix OK, but following their reasoning, it looks spot no, as minifigures heads are disproportionate large for the body. It may not be minifigure scale, but it is minifigure head scale.
LEGO City back then, or even as late as the 90s: Gas station and repair shop, restaurants, houses, of course it has the fire station and the police station, hospital, school, assorted shops and stores LEGO City now: Police car, Police truck, Mobile Police Station, Police Station, Police Helicopter, Police Boat, Police Train, Police Rocket, Police Space Station, Police this, Police that, and not even a donut shop to keep all the cops fed.
Even its looks weren't bad at all. Technic had no panels at the time, the most you could do was build the outline or silhouette of a vehicle, which 8880 does beautifully. I've always admired 8880's design, I think it's a really cool looking car. And I'd much rather have an okay-looking car with amazing functions than a dense mass of panels and stickers and barely any functions like modern Technic sets are... Old Technic was so much better.
0:20 I inherited a bunch of those old premade cars, gas pumps and printed bricks! Oh, and the self opening garage doors. My dad or his siblings musta had that or a similar set.
The Technic comparison at 3:25 is actually a good one for bad reasons. Technic is purely about functions and learning how mechanical things work and we used to always see gears working but nowadays (like the set OP showed) Technic is purely cosmetic and the „technic“ is really just a pullback engine and steering. So yeah compare the two sets, compare what the 8880 Supercar has for technic functions and what the new Bugatti has. That’s an accurate depiction of LEGO Technic going downhill.
Even though you called them studs on top of the ESSO tanker, I believe those are hatches for loading the tanks, of which are probably four separate tanks... But I'm not sure back then what all different types of octanes available at stations.
"The future car gives a glimps into the not so distant future that I'm waiting for" Excuse me, _that_ particular future technically already exists. Look up the Ariel Nomad. As for the massive Ferrari F1 car, nah, that wasn't a mistake, that's how big modern F1 cars are now. XD
I wonder how many different models of wheels were actually produced? Wheels with tires, not including technics pulleys or train wheels for the numerous train track systems. Considering some wheels of models are extremely realistic and used for only one set, it's probably a number in the hundred.
I would want to mention the cars from the super brief Speed Racer theme since they're so bizarre, in either design, building technique, or both. Especially when you compare them to their models from the film. I would totally kill for a Mach 5 set in the Speed Champions line though, like with the Fast and Furious/007 one-off sets.
In the 1980’s tractor set from 1962 been set 6608. Which one of my teachers brought in about 2 weeks ago…(I’m Australian same with my teacher) it’s such an amazing set in my general opinion, with it been an old set it’s still pretty cool(the teacher also brought in a set from 83) and a bunch of other old legos most likely from other sets(bunch of old base plate looking pieces too) If you want to count the set 6608 as a “car” set
As a child I always thought the scaling issue is mostly caused by the proportion if the minifigures. Being much wider than the aversge none american human. This width along side brick thickness adds to the wierd scaling for lego cars, at least for the 2 seater variant
Weird cars? Try the time Cruiser sets. From the Monster Fighters sets, my fave was the Sand green sports car from the haunted mansion. Vikings had the heavy Artillery wagon and the double catapult. 41256 troll theme set has the caterbus... Also, Power Miners, Ninjago, Bionicle and many other themes had some very odd looking vehicles. Personally, I like the big white, red and blue highway rig truck from the Model Team
My friend and I would build knex dragsters and launch them off the top of the stairs at his house and then try to improve the structure to not break apart. We only ever broke a few pieces. Lego had to compete with that and I’m not sure the plastic they use could hold up to that abuse.
Here's one for a future video. In the 21264 set The Ender Dragon and End Ship, step 9 is a bit interesting, having us put two plates together but which connects a total of 30 studs to 30 inverted studs. Also found a random 1x2 flat tan tile that has a window print on it. Could just be me, tho, so see if other users talk of having the same error, I guess.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Did ZNAP come out before Robo Riders? To me it looks like a predecessor to that. Also, that 200 wheel thing reminds me of a millipede. Also, have you ever covered the Hidden Sides theme?
Hi spitbrix On lego set 75333, obi wan’s jedi starfighter, on steps 42, 43, 44, 45, 75, 76, 77, and 78, a piece (6213880 and 6213881) seems to be clipping through another piece (6383988) this also appears more times in later steps. Thought i’d tell you for a future “lego sets that break the rules” video

HOW DARE YOU INSULT THE AMAZING SET 8880!? It is far superior to most modern Technic sets in all areas where it counts! Set 8880 not only had fully independent suspension, but also a four speed manual gearbox, four-wheel steering, all wheel drive with three differentials, and a mid-mounted V8. It's still a wonderfully complex build by modern standards and puts all but the largest modern flagship Technic cars to shame when it comes to functionality. And its styling was also very good for the time, most Technic sets didn't have that many complex angles. Set 8880 has been on my bucket list for a long time, they're just expensive and hard to find now - for good reason, the thing's highly sought-after. And that dinky little Bugatti Bolide? Sure it's got a bunch of fancy panels to make it look realistic, but its functions are crap. No suspension, no gearbox, not even a differential in the back! When Technic is supposed to be a line that's all about functions and mechanisms, the Bolide is a perfect example of how modern Technic has fallen far from its purpose. For $50 you get a bunch of panels and no real substance, bad deal IMO. Comparing 8880 to the Bolide is a worse insult than merely calling it ugly.
I disagree, the older Lego Technic cars look better than the "refined" ones we have now because it's all Technic and not a combination with Creator pieces. I don't care if it looks like a Ferrari, Lego Technic should show the technical parts and how they move. in my opinion they missed the mark completely with the newer sets.
Can you think of any other weird LEGO cars? Comment below and don’t forget to leave a LIKE if you enjoy the video 👍

8880 wasn't built for looks, it was the funcions that blew peoples minds and solidated it as an iconic Technic set.

They aren't the second. They are the number one largest. They make more tires than anyone and thus are the largest producer by volume.
It's easy to make a lot of tires when they're as small as LEGO's. That said, Bridgestone probably makes a higher volume of tires, just less of them
It's the first
