At 1:45 look at the ecstatic grin on that girl behind Fred - if I was so close to the most legendary pair of feet ever, and with Rita Hayworth on my left, I'd be smiling that wide too! I think this might be my favourite Astaire number ever, I've never seen him cut loose like that before, you can feel the joy of dance exuding from him as he dances each bit - so many lucky chorus members getting to dance 'with' Fred Astaire! In actual fact dancing to his exacting standards was probably incredibly hard, but it looks like fun! And Rita was the perfect partner for him, keeping pace with him on every tap. Just superb!
Fiona Tsang, Yes, I noticed that too, in fact, most of the chorus are having the time of their lives - and that must be down to the atmosphere Fred created in rehearsal as teacher and role model . . .
Fred could do it all.....whether a solo, single partner or multiple dancers all together. And here we see the versatility of Rita Hayworth, so well known for her rhumbas and sambas, doing top notch up-beat tap routine and keeping up with Fred all the way.
Ginger and Fred together had tremendous Chemistry (no wonder Mrs A didn't like her). Just recently read that Hermes Pan said Fred was very distraut when Ginger left to do more dramatic roles.
Fred brought out the best in all his dancing partners. One of his MANY skills was creating dances that best showcased his partners' skills. Not content to look HIS best, he insisted that they all look fabulous, too!
All those background dancers where great to keep up with Fred, but Rita just had that "extra little extra something" when they danced together. The synconicty, timing, flow, that smile, arm moment, and just pure obvious enjoyment of what she loves to do. 👏👏💖💃💃
Rita simplesmente rita , com uma magreza impar , é o corte de cabelo moldando esse lindo rosto que nos dias atuais não se vê em mulheres nenhuma a não ser o botox.
FRED danced with many great dancers but Ginger"s "stage presence" and ability to communicate her feelings during their dance routines in the 10 musical.films they did together sets her apart from the others. Their chemistry together was palpable and Fred said she was the most effective.

Here's 20 or 30 skilled dancers in one scene. Lucky to find two people who can stay in step with the current so-called entertainers today!

That brotha know he was smooth
I do believe that Fred's suits were glued onto his body. He always stayed wrinkle free.
And what on earth did they glue his toupee on with? It never fails :)

Ginger Rogers, Rita Hayworth and Cyd Charisse were the best dancing couples for Fred Astaire.
Lucille Bremer wasn't too bad either. Then, of course, there's Vera Ellen.
Also Jessie Mathews was good!
There's also Eleanor Powell.

I agree, but THIS dance is awfully fun! Not the biggest Rita fan, but she was GOOD.
