Dude! One of the great things about your videos, is that you leave the crazy learning curve in when you can. You aren't a pro and don't pretend to be. Your a guy out there, living' the life and having a good time learning new things and taking us along. Won't say I don't enjoy when you actually land a catch, but the fact that you keep getting out and enjoying the process...thats everything.
I don’t agree, why go 100% off grid??? Atleast the other had power, stove, sink etc. why abandoned all those comforts for a empty box, to each Is own but I like the other better, and I love his vids!!!
Hey Johnathan, rub the outside of the potatoe with olive oil then season the outside skin with kosher salt then wrap it up in the foil and cook as normal, it's a new level!
I had fun camping in Oregon and live in Portland Oregon for over 40 years and now I moved to Alaska for more Aventure and camping for 12 years and I'm loving it. Awesome keep up the great camping.
I dig that you're into cooking I'am a Cajun dude from south Louisiana cooking is a big part of our culture, The men can out cook the women in most families here 😆.. This new camper is awesome 👌
Great camping spot. I'm very patient - I cook what other people catch! I've done a lot of potatoes in coals, but never meat on coals. I frequently skewer meat chunks on metal spits and prop them across the fire pit. I'll put them in marinade the night before. People can have their meat cooked to their preference. I continue to really like the new camper! Luck with your fishing skills!!!
My Dad self taught fly fishing, took him 5yrs to catch his first trout. He's been fly fishing for 30yrs now and he's pretty good, not always successful though. Catching isn't guaranteed. Keep at it, you'll get there.
Hi Jonathan Your new setup suits you. I was watching another person I follow and they said UA-cam has a icon that shows a $ symbol so people can send you money. Gas prices and coffee are outrageous. Might help you at least with gas so you can keep making these great videos. Thank you again for your time and effort in making these great videos.
I like these little efficient camper shell. Ironically Bob Wells released a video interview today with an older fellow who is living in a Bel-Air shell. His interior build is a lot like what you are doing. Those who fish catch the fish, those like me who don't have to buy their fish at the market.
I spent my childhood fly fishing out of Mack’s canyon on the deschutes! Beautful place! Great video, maybe we will cross paths out camping one of these days!
Oh my goodness! Your cooking skills, oh my God!!!! I am literally starving right now… I want I want… I am going to have to steal this and do it… DELICIOUS!!! You are living the life…
Tips with something’s I saw. With a salmon fly hatch the fish will literally be 6 inches off shore. So when you wadded in you were likely spooking all the fish. You most likely want to be hanging right along the bank not really even getting in the water if you can help it. If I was floating I would be trying to land my fly on the bank and then lightly popping it off into the water. As a salmon fly hatches they crawl out from the slow water on the shore and up the leaves and grass on the bank untill their bodies are dry and then they fly away so if you can make your fly flop off some grass into the water like right on the bank you’ll kill it. So in summary just be very weary of where you’re wading and try to stay out of the water if possible.
Thank you for sharing your new camper looks amazing and the meal as well when I would fish for trout I would use regular fishing pole with a lead and salmon eggs I always would catch something 👍👌
You found a great place to camp and try your hand at fly fishing. That steak looked perfect , not too well done at all. Nice, job and thanks for sharing !!
Been busy working but, i had a few days off fir Memorial Day Weekend. Enjoyed watching this video and traveling vicariously through your travels since I cannot drive. Thank you and keep your adventurous young traveling spirit! When I was young I loved traveling! 🌺🍷🍷🍷
Hey Jonathan, loving the new setup, especially how the whole rear door opens up. I just backpacked out there about two months ago, and was thinking this would also be a great place to car camp one night, drinking a beer by the river. Even a day of dunking your waders beats a day sitting at home :) Happy trails, man!!
Trust me they’re biting out there. Was at Steelhead Falls not long ago and caught a couple nice trout. Fly fishing is definitely all about patience. Keep it up!
Man I just have to say I started watching you a few months ago and I love your videos!! It’s so nice to see the footage you get, sick!! Keep it up dude!
What’s up man. I’m glad I came across your channel. I live in oregon and pretty much know everywhere you have been. Nice setup up and I’m probably going to cross paths with ya. Cheers my friend.
Awesome place , awesome food ! Too bad I'm not out that way , or with you , I could teach you everything I know from 50 years of fly fishing and have tied my own flies since age 10.....thanks, stay safe always.....✌
Remember when your fly fishing you cast above where you want the fly to drift down into that way you can control how much line you have out so you can set the hook
Interesting technique in splitting the firewood in sections!🤣🤗 I am drooling over that steak🥩 and baked potato meal🥔! Don't worry, they'll 🐟🐟give in on biting!Take care, and enjoy!🏞
Fishing would drive me nuts. Sitting there for hours with thoughts in my head is not how I relax. I have to do something physical like running or hiking to give my head a break from thinking.
Be careful when your all alone. If you have an accident, no one can help you. Steak and baked potato cooked to my liking. One thing missing ~ garlic butter on the potato. Can't get any better than this! Thanks for sharing this part of your journey with me. Greatly appreciated!!! Looking forward to your next endeavor. Drive safe! Keep safe! God bless you on your next journey! 😘
Hi Jonathan, I would try casting a shorter line and only fish for a few seconds then recast, that would put you more in touch with the fly and more likely too hook up ☺
Fly fishing looks so darn hard nd scary the water looks nice and clear hope you can one day catch a 🐠 fish your meal looked delicious nice truck camping thank you for sharing
Looks amazing there ~ Your truck topper is very nice ~ AND that meal w/ steak 🥩 seriously ? You definitely made me hungry !!! Have Fun . Enjoy . Look fwd to next video
I love those camper shells, I understand they only make them at one place in California...I see them sometimes here on the east coast and always drool over them
When I was young I caught fish winging it all the time but not fly fishing. Nobody really taught me much. The major difference is I never fished fast flowing water like you seem to always do. I fished off rock cliffs, docks and with a paddle boat, often along rock cliffs. I used red devils and plugs and soft plastic lures. Sometimes I trolled with spinners if I recall. But often just hook, worm and sinker.
Haven't camped in such a long time due to school. I haven't even touched my project Xterra in so long :( Thanks for inspiring me to go out bro. Love your content.
i was working in hanna summer of 2020, fish and wildlife were talking about killing off that river to prevent the spread of some disease. glat to see you had some fish
Nice video!! I felt your pain regarding all of the campsites being taken. Been there. This year, I reserved my camping spot for Memorial week about 3 months ago. I’m leaving on the 30th. Can’t wait to be camping waterside!
hi jonathan..i've watched mav videos for awhile now..stumbled across yours just days ago..my comments..your scenic shots are spectular..your camping setup is perfect..your creativity is aspiring..your cooking is one big reason why i couldn't stop watching...your personality is contagious...and through it all.. you've stayed grounded.. i'm a tv sportscaster..so i'm tough to please...but it's been so easy to follow you..i just subscribed!!! kudos to you..and yes..i beat the status quo every day!!!! btw..your girlfriends haircut does really look good....and ...i love the dogs..i just recently lost my adopted little chiuawa mix recently..his name was Heinz..he passed at 15!! he was my world..i'd love to know how your guy's mole surgery went...keep entertaining.. peace out!!!!!
I know it's cool and outdoor rustic roughing it, but be careful cooking in a fire pit. You never know what people before you put in there. Sometimes people put chemically coated trash, human or animal waste, petroleum products... Just saying some people suck and always keep that in mind when giving it a good look over. Maybe not your first choice of campsite but it's gotta be better than being surrounded by tons of other loud campers. Love the Bellaire camper. Tons of room in there for customizing it. Hoping you would do some buildout segments.
Have you done a video explaining what you set up in your new shell? Bob Wells of Cheap RV Living has done some "no build" videos. One uses a cheap but sturdy bed frame where you can store things underneath, and he has easy ways to level the legs. Other people show no-build solutions, too.
A tip for you after using your waders hang them upside down or feet up. That allows any moisture left inside from sweating to drain out and you can leave them hanging overnight to dry out completely.
I would never cook my food on a public fire pit, especially with someone else's ashes in the pit, did the the guy before you pee on the fire to put it out before he left, or maybe they burned their trash on the way out of camp. Just something to think about, looks good though. Happy camping
I LOVE when there's alot of people camping it's s whole lot nicer and safer. Everyone just relaxing enjoying and having fun LOVE it.💙⚘🤗Awsome Video my Friend safe Journeys LOVE and GOD BLESS You.💙⚘🤗
Watch Cheap RV Living video of an 82 yr old man with a truck camper shell very similar to yours. He built a long counter top with shelves bed in the same area as yours.

Gotta admit that this camper is way better than the Slumber Queen for you as a solo camper.
And it looks good on your Tundra.

@@thomey-td5zm because his vehicle can't handle the weight of the slumber queen he always having a hard time and constant problems with it.
Hey Johnathan, rub the outside of the potatoe with olive oil then season the outside skin with kosher salt then wrap it up in the foil and cook as normal, it's a new level!
Greg, that's when it tastes the best, skin and all! Mm-mm, good!
Garlic big time. Just slice it up, talk about a new level, lol
I had fun camping in Oregon and live in Portland Oregon for over 40 years and now I moved to Alaska for more Aventure and camping for 12 years and I'm loving it. Awesome keep up the great camping.
Yams are great that way too. I do them in my wood stove during winter.
oh yeh.👍 I cube the spuds and yams and throw in some minced onion before I wrap in foil to bake. Mmmm.

Huge facts right here. Takes a while before everything comes together and clicks fully. Time on the water is the best bet for sure
Yes sir, it's the Whip and the type of fly u use. Took me 30 years.I'm 63. Power on young man.
You have to make the fly .dance
Your dad didn't have utube to learn fly fishing....I'll expect a couple fish next trip🤣👍
Where did you get the metal siding for your camper shell?

Come out to Montana I'll take you fishing. Salmonfly hatch should be going off in a couple weeks. I'm a guide so I can give you a couple pointers.

We have never been fly fishing but it looks pretty fun. Dinner looked really yummy. Mary💕Fred
Jonathan, great times, love the new set up... and that why thay call it fishing and not catching... keep the faith...

The meal was absolutely delicious! Thanks for watching & commenting :-)
Awesome setup! Love the vids- real life adventures. Keep it coming
Your camping spot is so beautiful. Your meal looked very delicious. Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
Interesting that you cooked the steak without the cast iron skillet. I would not have the audacity to try what you did here, so hats off to you.
I love this camper. You motivated me. I have a 2000 tundra and this would be perfect! Love the videos. Going to do a lot of camping

Way to go man !! Just watched your very first video from a year ago fwd fast to now you’re doing good bro !
God Bless. Keep on Truckin
Well, i think the place you camped was beautiful. Loved every second of this video.
Hi Jonathan, I would try casting a shorter line and only fish for a few seconds then recast, that would put you more in touch with the fly and more likely too hook up ☺
I really like your new camper. It looks like a nice setup!
Steak and potatoes looks amazing. Always enjoy your videos Jonathan. Love the new set up.
You are a true go getter, Keep doing what makes you happy in life, Always stay safe and take care. 🙏
I love cooking over a camp fire and I give you a perfect score for your skills! thanks for another great video.
Nothing like a good cup of strong hot coffee, early in the morning, down by the river...
Nice spot, thank you for bringing us.
Fly fishing looks so darn hard nd scary the water looks nice and clear hope you can one day catch a 🐠 fish your meal looked delicious nice truck camping thank you for sharing
I like the new camper, minimal. You sure are a good cook. Keep up the good work.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
I love your camper I love your videos and I especially love your cooking great job thank you Jonathan
I thought that spot looked familiar. 🤗✌️❤️🌻
Your new setup looks just fine. You'll figure it out along the way as you need to. Beautiful country.
🇺🇲❤️
Another great vid and I’m trying the steak recipe for sure! Love the new camper
Looks amazing there ~ Your truck topper is very nice ~
AND that meal w/ steak 🥩 seriously ?
You definitely made me hungry !!!
Have Fun . Enjoy . Look fwd to next video
Keep doing your thing. I’ll have to try your recipe for your sauce, enjoy your videos👍👍👍👍
Hey Jonathan, I like your camper setup, you even got room for solar on top.
Making me want to hop in my truck and camp!

Great content John, hopefully soon I can have a camper like yours instead of my truck topper camper
They back door doubles as a door and an awning. Cool
I can’t wait to move to Redmond this summer it’s so beautiful
Magnifico! Do I see a cook book in the future. Definitely gonna try this. Thanks for sharing
Don't give up on the fly fishing you are progressing.✌
I think this might be my favorite video of yours now!
I was just in that area I had no trouble finding spots but I avoid campgrounds A smaller camper is a good thing
Now that you have the cool new camper I think an extended road trip is I order … camp in every state with Alaska at the end ? 🤔
i was working in hanna summer of 2020, fish and wildlife were talking about killing off that river to prevent the spread of some disease. glat to see you had some fish
Try cooking whole onion the same way. Put a bunch of butter on it and eat it along side some catfish. Kings dinner
Nice video!! I felt your pain regarding all of the campsites being taken. Been there. This year, I reserved my camping spot for Memorial week about 3 months ago. I’m leaving on the 30th. Can’t wait to be camping waterside!

New topper looks awesome on your rig!
Try tossing a bit of olive oil on the potato with some kosher salt before wrapping in foil next time. It is legit 👌
Fantastic camper and food!!
The water is so clear. Meal looked delicious. I’m still waiting to see that camping cookbook. Enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing 👍🏼👍🏼

I really like that shell...the full back door 👍
Not an expert, but a block of wood under your tire, may damage your tire. You may want to travel with some wedges made for leveling.
A/T truck tires are built to handle rocks and bumps. 50-65psi too.
Fantastic job on the dinner. I hope you catch some fish to fry too, good luck kid!
🙋🏽♀️J-Mann ☕️😆Great watching and yeah that would’ve been great footage falling into the water. Be safe please as always 🙏🏽
Love that spot very pretty nature.
Love that camper bro. Good vid.
Just subbed nice rig keep up the great work!!
When you flipped the steak... wow, what a relief. I was expecting a burnt piece of meat. Looked so good!!
I'm sure you enjoyed it. Cheers!

I was a bit bummed when you let go of the Slumber Queen but I'm really digging this new camper.
Headed that way in 3 weeks, stoked!
