This is how all "how to" videos should be made! No BS. Just step after step. I didn't haft to fast forward a bunch of blabbing. It was an easy project after watching this video. Thanks
Great to hear! Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you for this video. I was quoted over $300 in labor to replace mine. This video was perfect. I had issues because my disposal was at least 15 years old, so the rings were rusted but with some patience and creative thinking I got it out. Really appreciate those of you who make videos like these. So valuable for a single mom and homeowner on a budget.
Great job with the repair! That is great to hear!
yes, the most important thing in all this is your name.
Most excellent instructions.
Great! We are glad that we could help!
Just discovered a leak with our garbage disposal. I’m a serious DIYer, but have never done a garbage disposal. I think I’m ready after your video. It was awesome
That is great to hear! Let us know how the repair goes for you!
I watched the video that Home Depot made first and it was very vague and didn't offer much help. This video was spot on to tell me exactly what I needed to know. Thank you.
Great! Thanks for the feedback!
I'm going to do this next weekend. Plumber wanted $400.00 and I had to supply the garage disposal. Thank you so much. You made it so simple to do

Excellent video. Wish you had had a different brand so you could have showed what to do about different drain piping. But there are so many variations that I guess if one doesn't have the ability to figure it out, they should be calling a plumber in the first place! God bless you! 😁🙏
The plumbing can be tricky if it doesn't match up! Most of the disposals are close enough that you should be able to reuse the original. But if you do have to re-do some of the plumbing to make it work with the new disposal you will be making a trip to the hardware store or calling a plumber. Good luck with your repair 😁
Thank you lm a little old woman and I was able to do it.
Nice job! You are awesome!
You just save me hundreds of dollars thanks 🙏 so muck for this video you need more like this double likes
Awesome!
Wow! Awesome video bro! Just straight to point. Thank You!

Nice vid. If you want to replace a device that is not working, before buying a new one make sure the current one is not jammed. To relase a jammed motor look for the instruction manual or check if there is a hole at the bottom's center, insert a big enough allen wrench and turn it 360 degrees (it might be hard at first, that's when it's jammed). Then press the button that should also be at the bottom and try turning the disposal on. Mine came back to life this way.
Great tip! It is very common very them to be jammed and trip the reset on the bottom.
Wow thanks..
You're welcome!
thanks
You're welcome!
Wife: "Why can't you be DREAMY like the Parts Dr.?!?!"
😂
Just bought an Insinkerator 1/2 HP disposer from Lowe's and the lower mounting ring (attached to the unit) is not moving freely. Is there something that needs to be done to loosen it so it can twist easily onto the upper mounting ring?
The outgoing Whirlpool unit's lower mounting ring moves freely and was easy to quarter-turn to begin removal.
I did it!!!
Nice job!!!
Good information as a DIY I recommend not to remove/replace the three mounting screens, snap ring, back up plunger and it's components, it's a tight spot and hard to move around, specially if there is no leak. Save yourselves the back pain and headache! I bought same brand and it snap right on mounting ring, no sweat! Now I do have a question, the tab that allow dishwasher drainage. Do I remove it, although I don't have a diswasher?
Thanks for the tip. If you do not have a dishwasher, leave the plug in place.
I got mine followed it but the screws that come wont fit on the disposal itself I also transfer the old cord sigh
I have a 19 year old GC1000 Whirlpool 1/3 hp garbage disposal. Is a kitchen aid disposal a drop in replacement?
The Whirlpool GC1000 is typically a drop in replacement when replaced with the Kitchen Aid KCDB250G shown in the video. Some of the higher end Kitchen Aid models could be different. Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid disposals are hard to come by right now with the ongoing supply chain issues right now.
watch this video first lol
Thanks!
