Literally just took delivery of the NewAir 840 AIO. Sadly, it arrived and was missing the hardware (screws) for the door handle. They are not pre-installed inside the door, as I have seen in many reviews. This won't prevent me from getting the system up and running though, as the screws are inside the door seal. NewAir said I should have the screws in 3-5 days. Also, notably, is a change... actually elimination of the drawer center dividers. They simply are not there in the new units. When I called NewAir about my door screws, I asked them about this. They said the change was made as a result of customer comments and recommendations. They also changed/updated the digital unit to improve temp/humidity accuracy (can be off by +/- 3 degrees). Nice to see a company that listens to, and acts on customer input!
I just received mine yesterday, I also own a Needone 300 capacity and love it, no issues at all, but I have been looking at the Newair 840 for a while. I really like lighting and self-humidification, even though I will be using Boveda packs just to be safe. I am a little concerned about reviews saying they have issues with maintaining the humidity and temp levels. Also, I have heard people complaining about the dividers being glued in, mine did not come with any dividers. Also, HEADS UP, I contacted Newair's customer service to see if I could order an extra drawer for the unit. Thye do swell shelving and drawers but, the guy told me if I modify the unit in any way, including taking shelves out and replacing them with a drawer, even though I purchased the drawer from Newair, this will void the warranty.
This is way bigger than expected, very compact. The only downfall on my side is the door handle. As I’m screwing it in, the screw somehow broke the first plastic of the door, yeah $1500 and the door were the rubber lies it’s a cheap plastic. I went to Home Depot and bought some half inch 8 32 screw and a pair of fancy cabinet handle which I tied very well. My point is, for a such expensive unit a least the door handle should’ve been stronger and well made. This may be the part you touch the most, pulling and pulling. But other than that I’m so happy with this unit.
my CC-100 is now after 4 years stuck on cooling to the lowest temp possible. Currently looking something new, but not sure im going to drop 1500 on a unit that will in 4 years decide that being set at 68 degrees means to stay at 59.
Mine came in today damaged broken door crushed front left corner .... i have reached out to new air I’m curious to see how good their customer service department is... hopefully it’s top notch
Nice review! Why do you have a Boveda in the bottom drawer lol. Mine will be delivered tomorrow! Unfortunately the drawer dividers don’t adjust otherwise looks great!
Really great review. Mine should be coming in soon. Do you recommend using boveda packets in combination with the build in humidifier? Would have newair and boveda at 69%
I left my half-used boveda packs in the humidor and they are still in there to this day. I don't think you need them as it doesn't seem like they are giving off humidity.
@@simplediversion4409 I did season my drawers with distilled water. However I have to set the humidity at 75 which also read that it reached the 75 humidity but 2 independent hygrometer are reading 68 humidity which tells me that the hygrometer in my unit is not calibrated. Thanks for the great review.
I’m sure the cooling works much better than the thermo electric units did. But I wonder how the heating works ? The heating in my cc300h is almost useless
I agree. This one seems to get to the desired temperature nicely. I notice when I open the door, I can tell there is a temperature difference since my basement is usually in the low to mid 60's.
I usually refill it every week to 2 weeks. I've gone 3 weeks before, checked it and it was bone dry. The cigars were fine I would just worry about the pump going bad if you do that a lot.
I agree. After using this humidor for a year now, I really wish it had an alert so I knew when to fill it. I pretty much top it off once a week at this point.
Nice humidor but I notice the fact that besides the exterior looks of it, it's 100% exact replica of my humidor. I own a Klarstein El Presidente 127 liters volume(only found in Europe), the NewAir is 117 liters and has almost identical outer and inner dimensions of the product. From the hardware point of view, both run on refrigerant, which makes them compresor powered and not thermoelectric humidors, both have the same kind of rails on the shelves, same style of of controls if not the same and in the same location, same lock position, both have incorporated humidity system and both have lights. Even the owners manual of the NewAir is I think 70% identical text with the owners manual of the Klarstein. The only major diference is that the NewAir has the water tank on the back wall and the Klarstein has it on the left wall and easier to reach, check and refill water level and the price of mine was 550 euros. I think only the colour, handle type and shelves design differentiate these products. Now, my whole point here is, due to the fact that Klarstein launched it's new e-humidor series in 2019, can this be just Klarstein rebranded humidor for North America? What's your tought on this?
have had nothing but horrible experience with my Newair humidor and the customer service is deplorable.I have had issue after issue and ZERO support. Do NOT buy their crap. And if you do good luck with talking to someone.

I like the lights slowly turn on after you open the door
Yeah it’s a great touch! Very well designed.
It does

I’d love to get my hands on one of these
Great review

That’s sweet!! Is that my birthday present? Lol
Great review. Amazing product there. Price is out of my range though.
I hear ya. If NewAir wasn't as nice as they are, we wouldn't be able to afford it either lol.
Well made video review and the Newair 840 is amazing just what I'm looking for our basement.
Thank you!

Awe that’s the worst. They’ve been great to work with! I would assume they will replace it. Keep us posted!
Update ..... customer services has been amazing. Replacement on its way.
Nice review! Why do you have a Boveda in the bottom drawer lol. Mine will be delivered tomorrow! Unfortunately the drawer dividers don’t adjust otherwise looks great!
The Boveda packs were left over from my CC300H so I just threw them in for now. Thanks for watching! Hope you like yours!!

Does it require seasoning the unit before using?
I did not season my other than filling it with distilled water and letting it run for a day or two

Did you season this or did it season itself since it adds humidity as needed?
I did not season it, but i let it run for a day before putting cigars in it and haven’t had any issues.

How often do you have to refill the tank? I saw a review where the guy said every 5 days...? If so, you can't even go out of town for a week??

What are the dimensions of the bottom drawer?
7.5" Deep x 12" Wide x 7.5" Tall.
@@simplediversion4409 Thank you
How did you season it?
I just let it run for 24 hours until the humidity was over 66%
Dose yours make a pumping noise?
Yeah every once in a while I can hear it
Not having one flat shelf for boxes and an alert or a simpler humidification experience seems odd at that price point.
I agree. After using this humidor for a year now, I really wish it had an alert so I knew when to fill it. I pretty much top it off once a week at this point.

Well done. Thanks!
