i would love to hear what you do and do NOT buy from a pet store. I know there are so many products that are not needed or even harmful to our pets from pet stores so I was wondering if there were still things you and Lennon like from the pet stores or if you do most shopping online for more specific things
Oxbow hay is sold from the pet store. They have pretty good rabbit products.
While yes this is true, some items at pet store are safe. I see a lot of unsafe things online too.
Reminds me of those yogurt drops as bunny treats. Why would you give cow's milk to a bunny?
My rabbit store sells some really good hay for a very cheap price

I got “hay” from a pet store when I first started bunny parenting which was really just straw I now use that as bedding and found a new pet shop with meadow hay
Third cut timothy hay for my bun! He is so very picky. Also, his pellets must always be Oxbow brand. He will starve himself if I try a different brand🙄 He will not eat cold banana slices, they must be room temperature🙂 PICKY
Val Spatorico omgosh my buns too!! They don't even like cold water in their water bottles.. or cold apple slices as treats... Maybe they have sensitive teeth? Too funny tho

When we first adopted our bunny (literally physically picked her up in a public park) she was very underweight, and didn't even seem to like hay, she barely ate it. So the vet had us feed her alfalfa (to help weight gain) with meadow grass mixed in (to sweeten it up and add interest). then over a few months we mixed in timothy hay and got her transitioned to just timothy hay now that she's a healthy weight.

i started using orchard grass several months ago on your recommendation- for years i haven't been able to be around my rabbits without sneezing constantly, having itchy eyes, and needing my inhaler. since switching to orchard grass my rabbits have moved into my room and its made the world of a difference! I cant recommend it enough to folks like myself who have hay/grass allergies. Thank you so much!!
Thank you for all the great tips and information, I find this extremely helpful because I was also looking into getting a bunny of my own in the future. It's great to look up and learn as much as I can before getting one because I absolutely love bunnies and wanted to commit to getting one ever since ninth grade but I also know it can be a challenge too. Like your favorite motto goes, "adopt don't shop".🐰❤️

Jake was a big fan of second cut Timothy hay. Sometimes I would mix in some orchard and oat hay to add a little variety. Small pet select is great! Such great deals on hay and so fresh! I still have a full box because I had ordered it a couple weeks before he unexpectedly passed away in July. Tried donating it to a rescue but no one got back to me. I keep meaning to toss it. What a waste, ugh! I don't know what kind of litter material you use for Lennon, but small pet's bedding is great if you use that kind. I would line the bottom of his pan with it and put a bunch of hay on top.
I mostly give my bun meadow hay as it also includes chunky bit which my bunny absolutely LOVES! She finished her alfalfa bag when she turned 1 and now we're slowly getting her off of it as she loves it so much.

THANK YOU!!! I always got 1st cut timothy, but it was soo dusty and my friends always get allergies when they come over. Now i've slowly switched to orchard with a bit of second cut. They eat way better and less allergies.
Makes sense why I kept sneezing around Timothy hay. I switched to Orchard and it helped a lot.

Hi! I love your videos and have gotten a rabbit myself, your videos are very helpful of what to buy for my rabbit, and what I can make myself so I am not losing any money. For example I watched your homemade brush, and even made one myself! It saved me al least $5-$7, so thank you very much!

I give my bun a mix of Timothy and Orchard Grass. I would recommend this just so your rabbit is used to both!
This is soo helpful because I have hay allergies and timothy hay gives me the worst allergy attacks but other kinds of hay I can handle if I use nasal allergy medicine beforehand.
I was always under the impression that timothy was the only staple hay and bc of that I thought I could never own a bunny but this gives me hope !!

2nd cut is what I use and my rabbit is obsessed with it!
I use a combo of Timothy and Orchard but I do prefer the Orchard Grass for sure. Nothing beats how green and soft it is. I just find the pets enjoy the variety, so gotta do what they like haha.

My bunny just loves oat hay! Turns his nose up at everything else. I've tried mixing it up with other hays but he just picks out the oat and kicks the rest out of his way.
I put a comment in another video about maybe doing a video on growing some food for Lennon. Like a treat garden. I think alfalfa and orchid grass can be grown. I have a cat and grow some grass and cat mint for her, but rabbits can have lettuces, spinach, flowers, veggies, berries... Lots of options.
Orchard grass is an absolute favorite with my pets, and I don't wheeze, sneeze, or cough with it!!

Ouww and yes weirdest thing, in summer in local pet shop the hay was so nice green good lookin. But now when here in NL is winter hay is different more dusty half of hay what you buy is just for throw away. Not very pleasant looking.

I have a male rabbit who’s name is Hip Hop who looked exactly like Lennon as a baby when I got him and he looks similar to Lennon now but has more white patches and is 1.

Very informative. My rabbits will always pick the alfalfa hay over any other. I mix it with Timothy hay. I had no idea it was for meant for younger or older rabbits. I just knew it was on the sweeter side. Oat hay, my rabbits won’t touch. I put a thin layer on the bottom of their hay bin, in the middle where they sit but will never buy it again. I will look for the meadow and orchard grass but have not seen these in my pet store. My worse find was when I found a small, mummified mouse, in my rabbit’s hay. It apparently happens the odd time in the cutting and bagging process.

I was taking care of my neighbor's new rabbit while they were on vacation and ended up getting Timothy hay when the straw bedding they had ran out. Let me tell you I've never seen a rabbit so happy. I don't think they realized how important hay was for rabbits. Big thanks to videos like this
Aww that poor bunbun! “Sincerely, Cinnabun” goes into depth about the different kinds of hay if you’re interested… but Timothy Hay should be 80% of a rabbits diet. Why? Because it’s good for them and eating hay, helps keep a rabbits teeth down to normal size (a rabbits teeth never stop growing). Might pass that info along as hay is critical to a rabbits diet and health.

I use meadow hay because I can’t get my hands on anything else (I live right next to a meadow and it’s the only thing they have in store)but that doesn’t matter cause bunny loves it!
