Doesn't work for me (trying to remove). In settings, in “Windows display language” dropdown (as well as in the system tray layout switcher) I have 2 things: English (United States) and English (United Kingdom). And below the "Windows display language" in the "Language & region" settings, in the language packs list (below where it says "Preferred languages" and "Add a language"), I only have one pack: English (United States). I don't want to have 2 options in the system tray layout switcher. How can I remove one of the display languages?? Nothing works, been searching for days about this issue. Nothing solves it. I just want to have only one option: English (United States) and no possibility of changing the language by mistake (either keyboard shortcut or clicking in the system tray language bar). Nothing works, I can't get rid of the "English (United Kingdom)" display language or layout option in the layout switcher you get when you click on the language in the system tray. I don't necessarily care that much about removing it from Settings, from the "Windows display language" dropdown, BUT I don't want to have multiple layout options in the layout switcher that opens from the system tray. I only want "English (United States)", which matches my keyboard as well.
@@nikolaidzumerski1909 I realized this is where Windows 11 is half baked. After awhile it still appears. Then I just leave it as it is, and at some startups, it appears. But it disappears again at other times 🤷🏻♂️
Based on your title I expected you explaining how to remove the additional keyboard layouts in case I needs multiple languages but not multiple keyboard layouts. Finally I figures out, that this is not possible via the OS-settings but via the registry. Go to this path "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload" and set the preferred keyboard layout-value for the key named "1" (e.g. "00000407" for German) and delete all other keys in that registry path.
I Have 2 languages Eng + Russian. but layout there are four of them! UK ENG, US ENG, Russian, Malaysia ENG (I am located in Malaysia). How can I remove 2 layouts?!
Thanks for the vid but.. this garbage OS keeps reinstalling that shit with every booting... This OS gets a 0 of 10 for the fact alone that I cannot but the taskbar on the screen of my chosing.

Same here
I managed to remove it. You Add English (United Kingdom) without language pack etc, then it will appear in the list. Then you can remove you.

This is about Language, not Layout.

@@Nico-lm5tl I solved it. Google for this problem and find a solution involving editing windows register. win+R “regedit”
