  • Customizing My 2021 Freightliner Cascadia Company Trucks | Bright Mountain Inc. Pt. 1
Hey everyone! In this video, I add a few missing components to my 2021 Freightliner Cascadia company trucks. I want the very best for my employees, and I know how being over the road for several weeks can be. That's why I am making these trucks a home away from home for my drivers. I hope they enjoy the amenities as much as I know you enjoyed watching this video! ☺️

I love your videos, Shelby. Wanted to mention that it's not good to lay a refrigerator horizontally because the oil from the compressor will start to move out and into the coolant lines, clogging them. I found this out when I bought a mini fridge and had an issue where I had to let the fridge settle for 48 hours because I layed it down to transport.

  • @atf01234

A neat trick for sharp edges is getting a piece of hose that fits on the edge, cut it lengthwise and stick it over the edge, and you essentially get a perfect size grommet to protect your wiring

Shelby, FYI for future trucks...if you have a refrigerator laying down, when you stand it back up you should give it several hours (preferably overnight) for the coolant to settle back down where it's supposed to be before you plug it in. Not doing so can damage the compressor. Awesome job though, love watching your videos!

I'd also screw the panel to the plywood so it is less likely to spin. Also when I drilled holes in some thick steel panels I used a steel punch and hammer to put a dimple in the panel. This made it easier to keep the pilot bit centered where I wanted it to be. Use a metal drill oil and drill at low RPM to keep from wearing down the hole saw bit too quickly.

Small wire cutters are great for cutting zip ties. Also, you may want to have a small hand file or a some kind of grind bit that would fit on the drills to file or grind off any access metal shavings off the panels. Keeps from getting fingers or wires cut.

I installed the same fridge/freezer in my truck and it works great.
Two things to keep in mind.Walmart sells the same one for a lot cheaper then Lowes and Home Depot. Also not sure if you transported fridges before but they should stay in the upright position but if you must lay them on their side you should allow it to stand upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in and running the compressor.
With that being said your doing a great job and I hope you get quality drivers that will appreciate all that your doing for them. Good Luck and Be Safe.

Look into getting them the galanz microwave air fryer. It's a 7 in 1 microwave it has a air fryer as well it fits perfectly in the microwave cabinet. On the box it says it's 900 watt but it's way more than that I don't know what size inverter is you're putting in your trucks but in my truck I had a 1800 watt inverter but I also had an APU so I had to make sure that it was on when I was using it otherwise it would drain the inverter. Severe trucks don't have AP use I would suggest idling the truck while using it. But it's a great thing to have ! You can get them at Walmart and they're like $150 I believe. Galanz microwave air fryer. You can also fit up to a 4.5 cubic refrigerator in the truck.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but there is a pretty serious recall on Cascadias (2019-2021) that were made in Mexico. There's an issue where the steering becomes loose and there have already been a number of high-speed accidents due to loss of control at high speeds.
If you haven't heard about it yet, I suggest you look into it if your trucks fall into that category. Wouldn't want someone to get hurt.

In a bind try scissors, or you can grab the tie wrap where both sides meet and twist it with pliers etc . It will pop right off. Diagonal wire cutters are the correct tool for the job though. Awesome video. So cool. The hole in the plate. A piece of black hose like wiper hose, split longways will slip right over it for protection. Kind of like those black door edge protectors for car doors. Hey to BKM and Dakota. Fridge wrangling video. LOL.

When you move the fridge around, the freon in the new fridge needs to settle down. Small fridge about 30 min. Before you connect to electricity. Because the compressor behind the fridge can make a lot of noise. Great videos Shelby.

We were always told 24 hours before you plug it in but she didn't have it on its side for very long so it might not take as much time.

Shelby love your enthusiasm on working on your rig - do yourself a favor and lose the power driver - I drive a Coronado and EVERY TIME a "technician" has attacked the insides with a power driver they destroy the fastening points. Freightliners archilles heal is they're NOT designed to be taken apart.

Just my 2¢. I anyways drill a pilot hole with an 1/8 drill bit first. The bit in the hole saw can creep otherwise. Also look into getting a bottle of tap magic. It keeps the drill bit from heating up too much. I always cut clean holes in metal doing it this way. Slow and steady. Anyway, great job!

You’re amazing Shelby but do yourself a favor and get a pair of side diagonal wire cutters. There will be less chance of cutting yourself or the cable when cutting zip ties. Also, in case you didn’t know, it’s best not to lay a refrigerator on its side if you can avoid it. If you do, I believe you are supposed to wait at least 30 minutes before turning it on if it was on its side for more than 30 minutes. If it was on its side for more than a day, it is recommended to wait 24 hours before turning it on. Thanks for another informative and enjoyable video.

Lowes/Home Depot sells black hose you could slice down the length then slide it over the metal too stop it from cutting your wires like a rubber grommet. Could also buy rubber grommets and slice the section out you don't need.

Shelby, just an FYI, you shouldn’t lay a refrigerator on its side. I noticed you laid it over on the cart at Lowe’s, and to cut the strapping. Oil can flow from the compressor into the coolant lines, and I bet that would not be covered in the warranty.

For the panel, use a 1" rubber grommet and cut it in half.

Use a 1" rubber grommet cut in half for that half circle and use adhesive in the groove to keep it in place.....

I was in your neighborhood again, for the 3rd week in a row. Delivered a meat load from Greeley Colorado, to the Albertsons DC in Portland I-84 exit 13.
Was able to go about 1 mile south, and get a Starbucks in my truck after. Parked behind US Bank. Not many places to park a truck for coffee.
Back at the yard in Denver now. Probably won’t get back that way for a while now. Happy Trails 😉
