A question that I think would be interesting: 'How many times will the home anthem be played on the podium?'
So if Latifi wins in Canada, an Alpine wins in France, etc the anthem of the host country would be played.
That's a great idea!
That's a great one!
second this! nice and fun question!
I like this one
All the possible times this could happen:
Ricciardo wins in Australia
A Ferrari or AlphaTauri wins in Italy
Sainz or Alonso win in Spain
Leclerc wins in Monaco
Gasly or an Alpine wins in France (Ocon counts twice)
A Haas wins in the US
Stroll or Latifi wins in Canada
A Red Bull wins in Austria
Hamilton, Russell, a McLaren, an Aston Martin, or a Williams wins in Britain (Norris counts twice)
Verstappen wins in the Netherlands
Mazepin wins in Russia
Tsunoda wins in Japan
Perez wins in Mexico
Of these I think 5 happen this year
Update: 8 races to go and none of these have happened. This week is easily the best chance
To the tiny percentage of audience members who voted for Alpine, Alonso, and El Plan whenever they could, you all have my deepest respect
We're a small fan base but we're loud like familly
Gotta represent, we all know what those guys are capable of
Hehe same for me
I’m feeling title number three this year…
@@beausigmon2969 I'd sell my left kidney for it
The diagram shows that the audience voted for TRUE on the question if the changes of the track in Melbourne improved it, yet it says that the audience voted FALSE.
We're as fickle as eveyone says, changing our mind every moment.
This is getting manipulated man
At that speed it's so dangerous man
@@jakehyams8659 Mike, this is not right!
👆 these replies above me are pure gold 💀
Few beers in and I almost thought we were going back to India next season. Who knew they share a flag with Miami 🇮🇳
To be honest i would rather see a return to india than a race miami myself
@@LogieT2K Or Sebring, if you're doing Florida.
@@godoftenors yep, but yeah lets race in carpark because it was brilliant last time we tried 🙃
Huh that's actually Miami's flag
@@Sheamu5 Well, but you cant say its not similar to the flag of India
“The winning constructor takes 10 or fewer race wins”
I was hoping Hazel’s TRUE was going to be because Ferrari will win every race and then be disqualified.
Do we count Mazepin as coming last if he doesn't start a race?
Considering he finished 21st in a 20 car field last year it wouldn’t be his worst result.
Maybe K-Mag's results will replace Mazepin
With Hulk replacing Vettel for Bahrain, he might be 22nd this year then
I was about to say XD, Does Mazepin count at this point??
We might be able to say he completed the fewest laps
Some truly bonkers predictions in here. Love it.
Also Oscar Piastri is absolutely THE Formula 2 champion, and will be until there is a new one. If he gets a 2023 seat before there is a new F2 champion he should count.
Agreed. Because at time of predicting with the wording of that question, I think Piastri should count.
Could this be the hardest season to predict in recent memory? So pumped for this season!
Especially before pre-season testing. It's basically gambling.
Any major change exposes wild cards.
Haha that's awesome
Watch it still somehow be HAMVERBOT every race
@@GBGB000 Ham Ver Bot would still be a very crazy result. Replace Bot with Rus and it’ll become normal
Can you please do a summer break mid point predictions video. I loved it when you done it previous. The season is too long to go that long between these
I'd love this as well
Love how the Sprint questions have already aged poorly considering it seems they're going to 3 sprints for the year
Love that Hazel took this as a storytelling opportunity!
🤔
Hulkenberg will get a podium this year, MARK MY WORDS!
Now with Omicron it seems really likely that he at leaat races ones a podium is mabe to much but I'd love it
@@Dylanf1fan tbf what team would give him the call except Aston Martin? Is he a reserve somewhere I missed?
In go karting maybe. The bum isn’t cut out for F1. Magnussen owns him
@@2sthimo449 Loving the way everything here aged after certain recent events, ngl.
@@nerd_nato564 Well...it did end up being Aston Martin yeah :D
They seem to be fundamentally unlucky with their drivers getting corona at bad times
Hazel is amazing. I dont know how no one was pissing themselves with laughter like i was. when she was on about Charles being disqualified for the illegal car had me in stitches
Carlos will be fine though
Everyone just ignoring the awesome new intro? Great job Chain Bear :)
"Which driver will complete the fewest racing laps overall" well, everyone who picked mazepin has an instant full points here i guess
Yes! I love this series, its so much fun. Another fun addition this year, since we've never seen the cars: maybe give people a chance to change their answers after pre-season testing... but if they do, punish them by making each answer worth half points. A nice risk vs reward scenario could make for fun :)
How about just a second post-testing predictions challenge? Double the fun!
I suggested a token system in last years video where you can change 3-5 answers after pre season testing. Jonty responded calling it a good idea so I assume they considered it but must have actively decided against it. Probably logistical reasons.
(Am aware of course that theres no gurantee they actually discuss a random YT comment one of them saw once)
I'm really digging Hazel's predictions and reasoning. They are the right mix of bonkers (e.g. Ferrarri DSQ) and insightful (e.g. Yuki).
"Oh no, the battery"
- Haas at some point this season.
@@lostalone9320 "We look like fokking vankers again."

You had a little too much Vodka tovarishch
Dave grindset
Stuart, despite some little errors in the presentation, I'm glad you got this as quickly as you did, with subtitles and way more details than I could count, editing is a pain in the arse and you did a good job overall. Here's hope that the this race is the best we've got so far!
Hazel is an amazing addition to this, really enjoyed her perspective
Yeah that "Ferrari last" is a 200 IQ move!
The production quality on this is so great. Really well done, love to see it getting better each year!
Ooo I said 3 first time winners as a bold prediction. Sainz, Russell and Norris are likely.
My boldest prediction was Sainz wins the drivers title without winning a race
@@lostalone9320 to be fair in 1961 and 1982 the champion only won one race. In 1984 the champion did not have a single pole position. The prediction is very bold but not impossible.
@@gergelystechnicmodels8565 An era when reliability was vital and pole position was way less important
Man I just want to say thank you. There is soo much effort put into this. It’s very fun and really gets me in the mood for the upcoming season
Highly entertaining, extremely well produced, lovely animations and quirky questions! Getting better every year 🥰
"Ferrari haven't been very loud, more like a quiet confidence." .....have I been on a different planet?
Given Bottas was only 6th after Baku in the W12, 7th after Monaco in the new Alfa is a bold call from Hazel.
He would have been higher had the wheel it not decided to become a part of the rim in Monaco.
Such a great production you've put on, lad. Good work!
Love it! Are you planning to do another round after testing but before the first grand prix? Then at the end of the year you can have two recaps, the saner one and this absolutely whacky one haha. Would love to see it, happy to see this, cheers and happy racing!
Ha ha no, just for our own sanity I think we're going to ride this to the end of the year!
Bahrain has produced some exciting races in the most recent era of higher downforce and wider cars. So I don't think that'll be a letdown.
At first, I thought 23 points for 3 first-time winners was way too low since the current grid already has 10 race winners (Hamilton, Verstappen, Perez, Leclerc, Ricciardo, Alonso, Ocon, Vettel, Bottas and Gasly). Then I realized 3 of the remaining 10 were Sainz, Russell and Norris, so it does make sense. I hope this does work out haha - I think all 3 of them deserve it. And hopefully, there's also a truly wildcard race winner from the remaining 7, akin to Gasly winning Monza 2020.
I'm enjoying Hazel - sounds very knowledgeable and completely out there
Jonty knew something
I've only just got to this, (8th March) and it is great hearing all the Mazepin predictions in light of reality
I love that Charles will be disqualified but not Sainz 🤣🤣
I swear hazel said that only Charles car was illegal
I hope we have a trio in the top this year. Dont care who, even though I like Red Bull.
And I just realized the logo are of two camshafts and a crankshaft sprocket with a clutch. 🙈
Putting Ferrari last in the championship due to being disqualified - WOW I like her style! Almost wanting to put some money on it for the lols. 👌
Have you noticed it makes the shape of a teddy bear head?
@@snoboreddotcom Yeah, thats how I've seen it all this time... I just never looked at it and thought about what it represented before this video.
The only flaw in Hazel's logic is that the FIA would never disqualify Ferrari 🤭
Geroge Russel: "He isn't known for his qualifying" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I check everyday for the results, can't wait!
So keen for this season. Let's go!
Rewatching so i can be ready for the results video!
More Hazel...hopefully when she's fully awake. SHe's great.
Loved the hazel addition. More of!
The podium round points encourage picking as many as possible. If you pick someone, it's -3 if you're wrong versus +5 if you're right. If you don't pick someone, it's -3 if you're wrong versus 0 if you're right.
If someone has even a 28% chance of getting a podium, it's still better to pick them.
I ran a lot of simulations of different scenarios and different points systems and this one seemed fair enough, all in all. Balances pushing to take a risk while still having to hold some back.
I can't wait for this year's results
Hazel southwell! Yay!
Hazel was just having fun with the narrative, wasn't she?? LoL
Favourite videos of the year
Maz picks didn't age well.
Why did people vote Russell being 'last'. Did that many forget he's in Mercedes now? Lol
@@lostalone9320 GOATilliams
For some reason quite a few viewers hate him. I guess he's one of those love-or-hate drivers.
I accidentally voted for Yuki being last. So, yeah maybe...
@@hkr667 At least on Reddit the community turned on him instantly when he posted his take on Abu Dhabi saying he's just saying shit to please Mercedes
@@hkr667 Probably bc he's quite arrogant. I really like him but as I usually hate arrogance I sometimes don't know why I like him so much tbh
That was a great line from Hazel! “They need the seats, their knees are old!”
Oooohhhh, Hazel is here!
Great addition!
9:33 Hazel's pick and reasons took my breath away good! 🤯
Yoooooo awsome intro, music is fire
51:33 Well we can now assign first points on the three Sprint races scheduled
Dan +10
Sean +15
Hazel +5
Stuart +10
Jonty +5
Audience +10
There's some slight errors in the subtitles, mostly in names.
My favourite is "George Russel, Dad I mean" at 47:56
Ha ha ha ha. I started with an auto transcriber and then went through it making corrections but I definitely missed a couple of things sorry
@@chainbear Three first time winners:
Russel, Norris and Science 😂
Computer Sainz made my day 😂
There will be fewer than 15 points between the Top 3 Drivers at the Summer Break -- this aged badly.
Hoo boy, how quickly these videos can age
Great convo
Great quizz as per usual. Is it possible for you to upload a form so you can do this quizz with a few friends?
I have a question for the replacement driver question, does Magnusson count as a replacement driver or as Mazepin
Being that he was replaced after this id say itd havta be a sub in this "fantasy f1" league
I think this is a lesson on why predictions should be made just before Q1 Bahrain and not when cars haven't even been shown.
Love to see Hazel on here
Excited!!!
Hazel’s perspective has been a great addition!
I'm watching this right before Singapore, and oof, this is difficult. Especially the make a prediction one. Although one of them is on track right now.
Loved Hazel's Yuki defence. Felt very wholesome but also lots of facts.
The thing about a considerable Haas improvement is that it still doesn't mean consistent points scorer - my idea of significant Haas improvement is like 5 or 6 9th-10th places, maybe one as high as 7th. For Mazapin to score 15 points then he would basically need to do all of that himself and Mick to do nothing which is extraordinarily unlikely. Still very curious how Haas does turn out though after its extra year in development.
Great predictions. Looking forward to seeing how bad they were 😀
for the Top N after N Race question (pretty confusing)... i feel like a possible alternative could been like "pick 4 drivers who will start strong and then slip down and then pick 4 drivers who start weak but climb up" and you could quantify it however you like. for instance, "starting strong and then slipping down" could be quantified by avg finishing place in the first 4 races vs the last 4 races. idk if that makes sense. my answer was probably as confusing as the question lol
Woohoo! Hazel is back this year.
This is your yearly reminder that for every year this quiz has been run, if you named all 20 drivers in the Podiums round, you'd have got more points than anyone else. For example, last year, you'd have got 60 points - 75 for the 15 that made it (same number of CB this year), minus 15 for the 2 Haas, 2 Alfa Romeo and Latifi
Tsunoda and Stroll didn’t get any podiums last year either
Looking at the N after N question again now after all relevant races have taken place and big congratulations for Haxrl getting 3 exactly right. Also the audience on 2 exacts.
Dan's Haas predictions turned out quite well so far :D
Hazel is great to have here, I really liked her FE coverage on inside-electric back in the day. I'd love to see you do more FE content, Chain Bear!
Glad to hear Dan is still alive 😀
you could have a weekly video on monday to see how you did on the F1Play prediction game. I think that would be pretty cool
1:16:50 Wait, it is true or false for the audience? The pie chart says true.
I hope Hazel stays...
Love the addition of Hazel to this lovely group
Wow, these predictions couldn't have foreseen the Mazepin situation. So fun to watch them in April 2022.
WHAT A VIDEO- I’m cheering for all the teams. And if we get one Haas - Mercedes battle I’ll be happy 😊 great work as always Chain Bear!
It’s an F1 insider who has seen that Merc has stuffed a toaster as their engine, absolute genius prediction, you will see.
I think you guys are nuts if you think there will be this many drivers on the podium. You didn't factor in the fact that the new cars follow better, so even in case someone has a misadventure in quali they will be able to climb their way back easier, leaving too little chances for slower cars.
And if you think performance will be that close, I feel like this is more wishful thinking than anything else.
I predict that all of the drivers are going to struggle to adapt to the new cars, and the expected performance gains will not be met by the end of the season. You should make an update video comparing the lap times of F1, F2 and F3 cars for this season.
Hazel was such a great addition. Love her
I think I'd have to spend about a week of deep investigation to even attempt the N after N question . So much to consider.
Surprised not to see Brazil on anyone's most DNFs list - a bit of rain at the Senna S corners and that beautiful track can easily become a river of chaos.
So on Upgrades... Reliability upgrades are still legal. No performance upgrades. Don't ask me the rules between the two, but a case could be made that work to fix a part like the exhaust could still go on, if the goal is to not use more than the allocation.
Hazel with the clutch last place championship prediction
Is there a form me and my friends can use to make our own predictions ? It sounds like a fun game to play.
Still love the charts
I like that at least some of the audience vote for el plan
Hmm Yuki did well at Brazil? Stuart, you don’t think much of him if 1 collision, broken front wing & 2 penalties for 15th place was a good race for him?
Always looking forward to this. 😁

Thanks Hazel! I loved the williams 2021 livery too, I think the camel canon FW14 williams livery is the best livery ever and I liked the nod to it
So I played this game last year with my F1 fan friends and it was great fun. We also had a whole afternoon figuring out the answers but I would so love it if you could put the form that you sent your F1 pundit guests somewhere I could use it too?
Man some of these already getting pts. But the Charles/Max battle was missed by most. Yeah Mazepin will 10000% have fewest laps this year good call on that
9:40 was the biggest brain pick from the last few years
