Good comparison, about what I expected. Bare in mind, the S7 is pushing roughly 270% (or 3.7x) more pixels than the 6S, or 2560x1440 (3,686,400 pixels) vs the iPhone's 1334x750 (1,000,500 pixels). It's the equivalent of comparing two systems with one running the same app at 720p, and the other at roughly 3K.
2K displays has no sense in phones. iOS optimization is actually the best in comparation with other OS's. iPhone A9 chip is the best in the market and the GPU is fucking crazy. iPhone can afford big games without problems ;)

Envy? I have an S6 edge, for which I paid $100 more than the shitty iPhone 6 at that time, so I really don't have any reason to be envious. Samsung's S phones are, in the latest years, objectively better than the iPhones in all regards. They're faster, better shooters, better lookers in the last 2 gens, have better screens and features et cetera. Really the only reason to get an iPhone is "because it's an iphone" which as stupid a reason as it gets, you're getting a phone you know it's worse just for the image. To put it in perspective, the S6 is already 20% faster than the iphone 6S according to geekbench, and S7 is 30% faster than S6, which means the S7 is theoretically 60% faster than the iPhone, which is HUGE. Also, at new year's eve, my friends were struggling to get some good photos out of their 6 and 6Ss, even with flash. I would go and make a FLASHLESS photo and they'd all be amazed how much better the S6 camera was. They also all regretted the decision of buying an iPhone, a couple of them even swtiched right after.

Before the S6 I had an HTC one and that phone was performing miles better than other friends' 5S's, and it was a 6 month older model(!!!). The myth that Apple devices are faster is just that, a myth, that was kind of relevant 4 years ago but doesn't hold up for a long time now. My S6 hasn't lagged, crashed or hanged once in the 10 months I had it. I couldn't be able to tell if it's real-life performance is better or the same as the new iphones, but it's been nearly perfect nonetheless. And no, the iPhone isn't "faster" in real life situations, it just appears to be because it has a quarter of the pixels to push, and obviously needs to load video assets for that resolution instead of the S6's. That's why it appears to be faster, and even then only manages to get fractions of a second better speeds, that you won't ever notice unless you compare the two phones. the S6 uses this resolution to power a screen so much better, there's no person on Earth that would preffer the iphone's in a blind test, so make your pick: a much better screen you'd actually notice every moment in really life or opening your apps fractions of a second faster?

theres a difference in the a9 and a9x chips FYI. you're an idiot if you don't know the differences and not consider them. the A9X has a 2.3 GHz clock speed, the A9 has a 1.8GHz clock speed. and the A9X GPU is frickin 12 cores vs 6 on the A9, hence it can power the 4k display on the iPad pro with ease. not to mention the 4gb RAM it has double that of the A9.

But It does make a difference. the GPU side especially 12 cores and a better GPU(Pro) vs 6 cores and a less powerful GPU(iPhone). that's what allows Apple to push so many pixels. Okay go run Crysis 3 at max settings 1080p, then 1440p. resolution absolutely makes a difference. Higher resolution equals much larger textures. That takes a while to load. Not to mention all high-powered android devices are hamstrung by a Java layer which makes the scalability of its platform possible. the only reason the iPhone is faster is because of it is a closed platform.

the resolution counts only in games, it is related to gpu, when open applications count cpu, and memory wtf... iPhone 6s is faster, looks better and is better in games, for example: in wotb blitz at maxim iPhone stays at 60 fps, S7 has maxim 48, minim 18, so AVG 33, maybe 35. Accept this

lol, the fanboyism in these comments is hilarious. I own both an iPhone 6s Plus and a Nexus 6P. Both are right here beside me. I can list pros and cons about both platforms. The iPhone is my daily driver simply because it just works and works well. The Nexus is more fun to play around with and customise but the iPhone is better if I just wanna get stuff done. Game performance in unparalelled and general reliability seems better. I can honestly say though if I had to go with just my Nexus tomorrow I wouldn't be completely heartbroken. I'd just miss some of the conveniences and exclusive games. Also, it's ridiculous to compare the two devices with benchmarks. They're completely separate platforms. Also iOS can get a lot more out of lesser specs. It should also be noted that while top tier Android phones have higher specs in general, the GPU performance of the iPhone blows them outta the water.
Last year's 2015 iPhone 6s compared to their year's (yet to be released) 2016 Galaxy S7. Even still, last year's iPhone was faster over all. Can't wait to see what this year's iPhone 7 (with the new A10 processor) will do. ;-)

Back when iPhone was superior against Samsung's, but I think samsung is headed to the right direction. I tested the galaxy s9 vs iPhone x for myself, and it was such a surprise to see the s9 be a lot faster than the iphone in most apps, but then the games come in and sometimes the iphone x was considerably faster, but in other games the galaxy s9 still kept up.

I've been with Apple before and now I'm with Samsung because of the fact that I want more out of my phone, and I want it to be able to do more than an average one. yeah iPhone does do some things faster because of the pixels but the iPhone is fast nonetheless but I definitely prefer the galaxy. it really depends on the person and if you're alright with not being able to personalize your device, add storage, use your phone as a vr headset, take better pictures and especially at night, have a full day of use and be together and the same instead of together and different, than iPhone is for you.

I am using IOS, and i can clearly say that this test is very wrong: The S7 needs to load more pixels because it has a much higher resolution therefore the device might be slower but it deals better with multitasking.
you cannot compare a carrier provided phone with a generic model. factory unlocked s7 and factory unlocked iphone should be compared. t-mobile logo is put up on the boot by the carrier ROM for few secs!
It's not true the iPhone is faster BECAUSE of it having less pixels. Rendering resolution is only a small part of total performance, and is particular enough to only be visible in certain use cases. IF it were really the difference, then the 6s would be much faster than the 6s Plus, which renders everything at a much higher 2208*1242 resolution. But that simply isn't the case. The 6s Plus would smoke the GS7 just as much.

I would gladely take a phone that is waterproof, better at multitasking, better screen res, has a Super Amoled display, and an amazing camera, over an iPhone with an ok screen, bad at multitasking, and a decent camera. Just because the iphone is a bit faster, does not mean that it is better. Even though the speed test was not fair, concidering that the games have different launch sequences, where you can obviously see that the S7 has better image.
There is a reason he didn't show the non-game apps speed test, because the s7 wins every time. Every youtube test shows this. iPhone is faster opening games because it is pushing 1.5 times less data than the Galaxy.

got to also remember is that, a lot of applications don't use all 4 cores (yes I say 4 because it's a big little configuration where 4 cores are used at one given time I know it's octa core) and the 6s has a much high single core score. Games would use all the cores but that's going to pushing the extra pixels.

I know why they have 8. 4 for light tasks and battery saving and 4 for gaming and stuff, but they should design one that focuses more on architecture and still retains the number of cores.

One thing about the RAM management you said that the s7 was better.Actually,they are equally great.The iPhone did not need to reload a single app.You cannot interact with the iPhone when you enter an app in the memory becoz of the animations and the way iOS is.That said,I love both of them but can't decide on one becoz of each things one does better than the other.

But It does make a difference. the GPU side especially 12 cores and a better GPU(Pro) vs 6 cores and a less powerful GPU(iPhone). that's what allows Apple to push so many pixels. I wouldn't be surprised the Pro had more transistors (not disclosed by Apple) cause it's necessary to have more power. just look at the performance gains they quoted with the Pro vs the iPad Air 2 and then compare those with the 6 vs 6S. you'll understand it's at least 40% more powerful than the iPhone 6S. and that power helps drive desktop level performance on a bigger display. here's a link to show you what I mean:

Okay go run Crysis 3 at max settings 1080p, then 1440p. resolution absolutely makes a difference. Higher resolution equals much larger textures. That takes a while to load. Not to mention all high-powered android devices are hamstrung by a Java layer which makes the scalability of its platform possible. the only reason the iPhone is faster is because of it is a closed platform.

lol, the fanboyism in these comments is hilarious. I own both an iPhone 6s Plus and a Nexus 6P. Both are right here beside me. I can list pros and cons about both platforms. The iPhone is my daily driver simply because it just works and works well. The Nexus is more fun to play around with and customise but the iPhone is better if I just wanna get stuff done. Game performance in unparalelled and general reliability seems better.
I can honestly say though if I had to go with just my Nexus tomorrow I wouldn't be completely heartbroken. I'd just miss some of the conveniences and exclusive games.
Also, it's ridiculous to compare the two devices with benchmarks. They're completely separate platforms. Also iOS can get a lot more out of lesser specs. It should also be noted that while top tier Android phones have higher specs in general, the GPU performance of the iPhone blows them outta the water.
Last year's 2015 iPhone 6s compared to their year's (yet to be released) 2016 Galaxy S7.
Even still, last year's iPhone was faster over all.

Back when iPhone was superior against Samsung's, but I think samsung is headed to the right direction. I tested the galaxy s9 vs iPhone x for myself, and it was such a surprise to see the s9 be a lot faster than the iphone in most apps, but then the games come in and sometimes the iphone x was considerably faster, but in other games the galaxy s9 still kept up.

I've been with Apple before and now I'm with Samsung because of the fact that I want more out of my phone, and I want it to be able to do more than an average one. yeah iPhone does do some things faster because of the pixels but the iPhone is fast nonetheless but I definitely prefer the galaxy. it really depends on the person and if you're alright with not being able to personalize your device, add storage, use your phone as a vr headset, take better pictures and especially at night, have a full day of use and be together and the same instead of together and different, than iPhone is for you.

Also, Phones like Nexus 6P which has beast specification and No useless apps slowing it down and a light user interface loses to iPhone 6s. Not to forget that iPhone 6s is 6 months old now whereas S7 just came out.
Its all about the optimisation ~ all about how you use your resources and apple always tops that category.

It's not true the iPhone is faster BECAUSE of it having less pixels. Rendering resolution is only a small part of total performance, and is particular enough to only be visible in certain use cases.
IF it were really the difference, then the 6s would be much faster than the 6s Plus, which renders everything at a much higher 2208*1242 resolution. But that simply isn't the case. The 6s Plus would smoke the GS7 just as much.

I would gladely take a phone that is waterproof, better at multitasking, better screen res, has a Super Amoled display, and an amazing camera, over an iPhone with an ok screen, bad at multitasking, and a decent camera. Just because the iphone is a bit faster, does not mean that it is better. Even though the speed test was not fair, concidering that the games have different launch sequences, where you can obviously see that the S7 has better image.

When you say that geekbench score is far better than s6, my average galaxy s6 edge score is 1470 single core and 5000 multicore with a peak of 5400
got to also remember is that, a lot of applications don't use all 4 cores (yes I say 4 because it's a big little configuration where 4 cores are used at one given time I know it's octa core) and the 6s has a much high single core score. Games would use all the cores but that's going to pushing the extra pixels.

something is definitely wrong here, in all the previous s6 videos there was 0 lag, and unlocking the phone was fast, but here it's completely opposite.
Well Austin Evans has a video out as well for speed test and as expected the S7 is faster in all departments compared to iPhone 6s including the Fingerprint Scanner. Don't know what's wrong with this video, but it seems misleading.
It's funny how your video is the only video showing S7 being slower than the Iphone 6s. I WONDER IF THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR SEPARATE RECORDINGS. Hmmmmm

+Stian thats because iPhones use true ssd but because samsung has to use sd cards it can't use really fast ssds because the sd card would wreak it
