Whats the bolt called sticking out of the tensioner at the top not the adjustment bolt with the lock nut but the bolt sticking out of the tensioner seems to bolt theough the head ? Any info
I have a 77 550 engine i am rebuilding right now,it was completely seized, once i got the top head off where the valves are, that piece you are having hell putting in, came right out,i just twisted it a bit and pulled on it and there was not a hair of a gap between the jugs and the lower case, jugs were seized to the pistons hard,i guess i just got lucky, lol
Ha, I knew you would come back. No one can get that 550 out of their blood once it gets under your skin, ....and nails. :) Glad you are back! I started mine the same time you did and I have not finished it yet either. I did finish a couple of other projects though.
You said you soda blasted the parts to get them clean? Currently have '72 torn down about to begin cleaning before rebuilding. Just trying to do my best on a budget. Also, other than just heading to a local hardware store or Fastenal, is there somewhere you recommend for buying replacement bolts?
David Tams so sorry guys I’ve been up the wall but Iam gonna complete this series within the next 4 weeks then Iam doing a front end upgrade to a gsxr. 👍🏽

Have a 1975 removing from the frame today. Might have bottom end issues but great vid on top end. Thank you
Do these gaskets have a top and bottom side? Can they be installed up side down? Thank you!
Thank you for the videos!! Just wondering was there ever going to be a part 5? Could really help! Other than that cheers!

Did you have your head checked for warping and whether it needed to be milled flat again? Thanks.
