Oh, I’ve walked he WHW, you should do it, takes about a week. You will get your fill of deer on the Rannock Moor.

Would love to walk all the WHW - have only done a short part of it. But will need to train before I do it all😄

@@terrifictraveltales except for the part right after Kings Head to Kinlochleven it’s pretty flat. You’re along the shore of Loch Lomand and then the Rannock Moor. I’ve walked the Coast to Coast and its has a lot of hill climbing. I generally go to the Lake District every year. That would be a great place to train. A suggestion, the pub at Inverie is the most remote pub in main land Britain. The Old Forge was purchase by the village so that would make a good story. Its a short ferry ride out of Mallaig. Was there years ago with two mates that live in Grasmere. We stayed in Plockton a couple of nights and in Mallaig for two nights. Great trip all by train. If you go to Mallaig the West Highland Hotel at the top of the hill is great, I have stayed there a couple of times. Since you live in Glasgow you could take the train to Fort William, then if its summer, there is a Jacobite train to Mallaig. You cross the Glen Finnan viaduct train bridge made famous by Harry Potter movies.
You didn’t take Calum’s boat out to see the seals in Plockton. He has a blow up seal on one of the rocks in the estuary so he never has to give free rides as everyone sees a seal.
      Cheers. Terry

Only done Drymen to Milngavie (and that already was a struggle). That’s a great tip to train at the Lake District! And thank you for suggesting the Old Forge - it’s actually on our list. We actually took the Jacobite train a few years ago - but will definitely do it again and film.
When we saw that you get the boat trip for free if you don’t see any seals, we thought the chances of seeing them were just so high. But having the blow up seal on a rock is pretty clever!😀
I’ve pinned your comment as you’ve given us a lot of helpful information that I’m sure everyone will find useful.😊

To me, Ullapool was lovely. I'm an American who visited Scotland and loved your country!

@@terrifictraveltalesShieldaig is far nicer than Ullapool or Plockton. It maybe very small but its surroundings are simply STUNNING!!!!!!.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Beautiful indeed. The drone footage helps. Also you chose some restful background music. Nice work.

Really enjoyable video as we head into Spring. I've known about Plockton for some time now but can't remember when or where I heard of it. It looks lovely and the harbour location makes it stunning to look at on a lovely day.

I think Plockton is pretty well known (but hadn't heard of it myself before visiting).
It really is a lovely village-particulary when the sun is shining☀️

I live in Wisconsin and milk a small herd of Jersey cows to make cheese. I learned to make cheese from Kathy Biss in Achmore, just a few miles from Plockton and stayed at the Plockton hotel the whole time. It is a beautiful village, I think it was a great choice.

Oh wow, that's a long way to come from Wisconsin.😊 But sounds like it was worth the trip and you enjoyed your stay. Even learning how to make cheese - didn't realise that part of Scotland was renowned for it😲

It is really pretty there with the right light and low tide! We went in April 2022 after meeting a bus driver on Skye with whom we struck up a conversation. He insisted he ferry us over free of charge (shhh!) and we weren't disappointed. Great people there (I'm sure having the money to live there helps).
