  • Students have a critical role to play in enabling Africa to determine its own destiny, and they should do their utmost to change the continent for the better.

    This was the message (link to the speech here) that Dr Thabo Mbeki, former president of South Africa, delivered to about 500 people in a packed Endler Hall in Stellenbosch University's Conservatoire on Friday (26 August 2011) afternoon.

    The academic nonentities of South Africa got together and successfully recalled him.Among other reasons cited, as Nzimande listed four of them,he didn't consult. Now Malema is about to take over, is he likely to consult? Did Zuma consulted or befriended GUPTAS thereafter. African jealousy is our downfall.

    until we realise that smooth talking does not determine how intelligent you are we still have a long way to go as africans if you want to judge me on my langauge come and judge me while i speak my mother language, our leaders have lost the way that were talked about in 1910 and we continued to discuss them in robben island from 1948 until 1989
