I'm still mad at what they did to the Supreme King archetype. They were going to be the new psyframes, using Darkwurms on your opponents turn to match their summon and then using some gimicky effect. I understand that they couldn't have the gates constantly heal you, and I understand banishing from anywhere for Zarcs summon would have been broken, but taking away their interesting gimmick of counter summoning and Zarcs umbrella of protection and unique card typing was just too much for me.
This confirms that we are getting SK (supreme king) versions for ALL the dimension dragons (odd-eyes dark rebellion and clear wing) so with that said my reaction is this *plays the clip of the man yelling OH MY GOD!*

in the anime it had the effect of being able to be summoned when you control zarc and your opponent fusion summons a monster, same for the servant versions of odd-eyes, dark rebellion and clear wing whenever the opponent used the corresponding summoning method, i guess this is the missing bit about zarc in the text like you said. well i guess konami doesn't give a fuck about that and it being so generic makes it more usable in other decks, though the anime version was op when used w zarc because it could be summoned in the opponent's turn and also use it's effect then.
It actually is quite broken with Phantom of Chaos ability without the drawback, also piercing and easy to summon.
it's relation to zarc is due to the servant dragon darkvrms being the intended materials for its summoning, since darkvrms are quite easy to search and recycle in a zarc deck

Wow, Konami isn't even trying anymore. Why can't it be summoned during the opponent's turn if you control Zarc, like in the anime? Would it really make it that broken, considering Pendulums are dead next format and Zarc isn't even meta right now? Also, really weird how you must activate the copy effect in order to give your board the Piercing effect, making it more vulnerable to activation negation like Clear/Crystal Wing, Strike and Ghost Ogre...

It would've made this card kinda terrible if it relied on zarc. Do remember that in the anime, astrograph magician banished things from the deck and extra deck as well as grave and hand. In real life, it doesn't banish from deck and extra making zarc so much harder to summon.
It wouldn't be unfair to the other player, it'd be unfair to the person playing the Zarc deck. Zarc is by no means meta so you'll never see it outside of locals and perhaps a regional here and there. If anything, it'll help a Zarc deck be able to keep up because summoning Zarc is a bitch by itself, being able to get more bang for your buck would be the very definition of fair.
Dio Brando - It wouldn't really. You'd still need to have Zarc and two DARK Pendulums to tribute for its summon, and after Link comes out, doing so will be much harder (plus Zarc would need to be out of the Extra Zone). And there's also the fact Starving Venom can't do much during the opponent's turn anyway.
darkgod789 - In the anime, the Servant Dragons can be summoned normally without Zarc, but with Zarc on the field, they can be summoned during the opponent's turn should the opponent perform a specific type of summon. Removing this condition from them makes they feel so unrelated to Zarc, and it really wouldn't be broken if they kept these conditions.

It shoulda kept the anime effect that let you summon it during your opponent's turn when they fusion summon and you have a Zarc, and kept the protection effect that stopped you attacking Zarc. Deals with the ez Lightning out.
Konami do it all the time. A basic example would be Red-eyes zombie dragon, effect has nothing to do with Red-eyes.

SKSD Starving Venom could copy a SVFD from the Grave that was sent there by MegaZaborg or Gale Dogra or... something to that nature.
Any cards that have similar that I can use in a DM build. This card is nasty
starving venom was never really hard to summon anyway since it is a dragon monster. I have a zombie deck that runs this and dragonecro since they can both take advantage of dark type zombie monsters.
There is a really nifty card called Dragon's Mirror. It banishes monsters in the graveyard for fusion material of any dragon monster :D
So say you run a not so well known card such as... allure of darkness :D
You play 2, toss out a couple zombie and you play dragon's mirror.

The effect of Copying effects is a dumb and will always lead to abuse. They hit the right card
Zarc + Kaiju on board so your Zarc won't get kaiju + some form of floodgate or backrow bullshit that says "no yugioh for you" for your opponent = GG

Its not corrupted by Zarc, its an alternate body for it since its regular body is being fused as Zarc in the anime... This is getting annoying...
As far as I can tell, the Wiki puts it that way, and Drew might be getting his lore info from there.
It isn't entirely inaccurate either, since Starving Venom in this form has its will completely dominated by Zarc, and this form wouldn't even exist without Zarc in the first place, which makes Drew's concern about this not needing Zarc at all valid from a "flavour" point of view.

not much to clarify. Its not an xyz meaning it cant equip anything as material. If the efft needs materials then it can't do that too. (I think anyway)

Yep. I can see this guy being played. I doubt konami is STUPID enough to kill pendulums and synchro with the link mechanic (hopefully ) (also why would you deny people of buying more cards) so it should see some plays. (especially considering this thing can probably do some loops with its eff).
I am still angry though cause thanks to link mechanic Red Dragon Archfiend Scarlight and Tyrant (which are while not meta staple were great cards) are pretty much done since you would blow up your OWN link monsters too. Though tryrant is a loner to begin with sooooo he might be ok.
Even though this was made for Zarc, I'm going to see lots of my friends at locals abuse the living fuck out if this card's effect in D/D/D, even I'm going to have at least two of this guy in my extra deck just for the shits and gigs.

Supreme King Servant Dragon Starving Venom (long name..) must be either Fusion Summoned or Special Summoned by it own procedure (Tribute 2 DARK Pendulum Monster). So, no, you can't summon it with Zarc's battle destruction effect.

It has its core effects (the copy effect and piercing), but not the Summon during the opponent's turn, the Fusion shielding and the Contact Out effect.
man , they nerfed this card so hard, i'm dissapointed. It cant negate an effect and it isn't a quickie. The piercing isn't a continous effect and it cant even be summoned by zarc's effect like zarc cant be pendulum summoned even though there is scale 13 and zarc is a lvl 12 pendulum. This whole archetype is a dissapointment
