To be fair to Tom Jones, he's 83, and I think as soon as Chinchilla started rapping he realised he wouldn't know what to do with her. So he left it to the young 'uns.

100 percent tom would be lost with her, he knows for sure what she's capable of but wouldn't be a good coach in comparison, as far as what tom knows, my old singing teacher used to use him as an example of perfect breath control, he has 65 years of being unmatched vocaly. But not turning was the right move in terms of the show, I bet he had to dig deep to not turn ❤
This was filmed prior to “Little Girl Gone.” She has obviously taken off since then.

So pleased you enjoyed this one as much as we all did, what an absolute star she is, Ollie Murs has been big here in the UK for a number of years after winning a talent show with Simon Cowell and is a brilliant performer. I hope we get one more song from Chinchilla as I assume she will have to withdraw having just signed a record deal and full credit to her. Her new video shows what a bigger budget can do and is awesome.Sam Tompkins doing " Hero " live is staggering in the emotion scales, bless him.

Anne-Marie had a track called Rockabye with Clean Bandit and Sean Paul that got to 9 in the states and Olly Murs got to 25 in the states aswell, hope that helps.

This was done last December. The reactor Black Pegasus did a reaction to this when it first came out and she left a comment saying when it was recorded and it was before she started getting more attention because of her songs with Ren initially. There should be more episodes if they have the same format as the US. There have been other American coaches on the UK version. The only one I can think of at the moment is Jennifer Hudson. The American version has also had coaches from the UK.
I saw in a recent comment that Chinchilla is signed to a new label but I haven’t heard Chinchilla say anything about it yet.

This was a year ago, it just aired in the UK a few weeks ago. Tom Jones possibly didn't turn around because each judge can only have so many singers in their group, so they generally have an idea of what they are looking for. Once it starts getting toward the end of the auditions and they only have one or two places left, they tend to be more "picky" as in, if they have all girls, they want a guy, if they have someone who raps, then they don't want another rapper...as for Will I Am, he's been a UK The Voice judge for years now.
I figured it had to be from a little while back. She's too well known now. I don't know what day in this was for the auditions... you might be right about Tom knowing he's looking for something else. But it just goes to show you that it's all part of the machine, rather than the true talent. I hope she kicks butt!

Haha ditto my query on Tom Jones not turning. On another reaction I posted a comment that maybe he forgot to turn his hearing aids on, but he liked her hat. I got roasted by a plethora of Tom Jones fans in the comments on that one. It was hilarious. Nice reaction. Cheers.
Tom Jones was cool in his time...but let's be real "It's not unusual" will probably not be popular with the younger generation 😆 The only Tom Jones fans are probably my parents age. 😉 It is was it is. Man, people can't every take a joke about a hearing aid? I'll probably need them when I'm in my 80's as well!
Will I Am is actually from England. I think a couple of the Black Eyed Peas were but I could be mistaken.
He was born and raised in California.

There are 9 episodes in the show. 5 have been screened so far - I think Chinchilla was on the second episode. I nearly fell off my chair when she appeared ! So four episodes left - at least one of which will be another round of auditions until each coach has 10 acts on their team. All 40 acts will sing again (in so called "battles") and their coaches/mentors will whittle them down to their favourites. So we will definitely see Chinchilla at least one more time, hopefully more. BTW there is another UK act THePETEBOX - really good beatboxer/looper. He has some great tracks on his YT channel - worth checking out (he does a great version of Bowie's Man who Sold the World).

This is just the auditions which was filmed a while back I've read, the live shows are yet to come. The prize is 50k and a contract with universal, but I just read the other day she's been signed by universal, so I don't if she's still in the show.

@algorhythm1234 the article I saw said she released little girl gone independently and used the success of it to negotiate to get signed under her own terms. So I don't believe it is Voice related based on the timeframes

@@MrsRealistic I don't know if you saw her latest reel about her pink walled recording shed but I saw her management company posted it to their instagram story. I thought it was pretty cool of them (and hilarious) as she cracks jokes about making leather out of record execs 😂
@Mrs. Realistic , Will.i.Am has been a judge on The Voice Uk from the very beginning 12 seasons , he lives in the UK and pops back to the states regularly to visit his mum and family . We've had American judges before like Meghan Trainor & Jennifer Hudson . Sir Tom Jones has been a judge 10 seasons . The other 2 judges are Anne-Marie & Olly Murs who big stars here in the UK & Europe . check out Anne-Marie songs ( 2002 or Psycho ) and Olly Murs music he's like a croooner and all the women here love him , try his songs ( Moves ft Snoop Dogg ) and ( Dear Darlin' ) .

I think Will I Am spends almost as much time in the UK as he does in the US. :) This was filmedsomething like 10 months ago, as part of the filmed auditions process. The live shows are due to start in a couple of weeks, once they've finished broadcasting the auditions. Of course, in the time since the auditions, Chinchilla has become a star! These shows usually coach away any individuality or character in an artist but I'm hoping that she stays true to herself. If she does, this could be big for her. Unfortunately her individuality will probably mean that she won't win it. It's always some bland, soulless, generic artist that wins these things, or someone that's been coached to be that way...
So true... like the one in the US. The judges end up being part of the Hollywood machine because that's what gets views!

This series is being aired right now in UK even though recorded long ago. I saw this 3 weeks ago, can't wait for the next round. In terms of Tom not turning, they have already filled part of their teams at the stage of this going out, but I think he made an error! Mind you, she was always going with first turner Anne Marie. She monstered it!
Yeah I can see how she wouldn't be Tom's cup of tea.
I'm hoping they post more on their site since the show isn't available in the U.S. unless you get a VPN to pretend you're in the U.K. and then sign up for the streaming service that carries the show. The auditions were about a year ago and they don't air them until the contest is closer to the live competitions.
Ahhhh! I hope we get to see more via UA-cam! Or maybe when it's wrapped up chinchilla will be able to post her episodes!
Apparently the applications for this season of The Voice UK closed in September 2022, and filming started in December 2022.
They used to have a live final with a public vote but now the whole series is pre-recorded, so Chinchilla will already know whether she won or not, but will be sworn to secrecy.
They probably finished filming in spring this year, so Little Girl Gone and Cut You Off were probably released after the show was recorded.
I wouldn't hold out too much hope of Chinchilla winning as The Voice UK is notoriously conservative in it's choice of winners. I don't think anyone as edgy as Chinchilla has ever won it.
She's too awesome for this show. They want vanilla "normal" marketable drivel! Pffft! She'll do better staying true to her unique, wonderful self!
I do hope they show more of how she did on the Voice. Checkout Sam Tompkins live "Hero" It also will bring a tear.

I don't watch these kinda shows but I know enough to know they often have a token Yank on the judges panel. It's pretty standard, I think.

"What does [Tom Jones] know" about music? Only more than almost anyone else alive. He has exhibited a tendency to not turn for acts that spend too little time actually singing for him to get a good feel for their voice. This performer sang a few lines in the beginning with way too much dead space between them (he's not judging the musicians -- only the singer) and when she broke into a rap and then more sustained singing she sounded out of breath on many lines, which Tom likely took to be a deficiency for a singer. She may be a great "performer", but is not a great "singer". You seem confused that Tom said he "enjoyed" it but didn't turn. Well. listen to what he says: "You got a great look" -- which is right up there with "you have a great personality" as faint praise. He's trying to put nicely that he didn't think much of her actual singing.
I know who Tom Jones is. It was a joke. Have you heard anything else from chinchilla? She's an amazing singer. Perhaps this didn't showcase her range as well. Cheers 🍻
I cried too 😂 I think we've all been following her the past year and we want her to succeed so bad. This was filmed in December 2022. But just out. The show is ongoing.
