This week, I hid an easter egg in the wild! I built a diorama in a birdhouse and hid it somewhere for anyone to find. The clues for how to find it are hidden throughout the video.
The Gollum figure I used is from CA 3D / ca3d

UPDATE: Unfortunately, someone stole the birdhouse. I knew that was a possibility before I placed it out there, but it’s still a bummer.
Thank you to everyone who found it and left it for others to enjoy. I loved seeing all your pictures!
Maybe a close trail in the foothills would be less prone to vandalizing.
Some Humans are the reason why we can't have nice things 🥺
Anyways, i absolutely love this idea and am glad that, at least some, people had the Chance of enjoying it as intended🫶
@@mymissyandme1714 It is also fairly possible that the park rangers types removed it. They can sometimes be on power trips themselves.
@thejunkman that's a stretch.
That sucks. I was planning on going to go see some of your work. However that is alright. I will be going to the coffee shop to check out your millennium however. Thank you for putting stuff out! I love it!
Seeing a Boylei out in the wild instead of just hands was pretty surreal 😅
Even a wild Boylei has to go on a 'mission, quest thing' every so often.
IF that was the real Boylei.
Pretty cool, right?
Finally, we got a Boylei back-of-head reveal.
U r the best! Touch nature, let her touch back. And we call that interact. You just made the world a little better.
I'm glad you blocked the hole, I can just see some poor bird wanting to make a nest in that.
Why worry about the bird, its gollum that would get his cave turned into a toilet.
@@lilnoir4213 Gollum would eat them.
I keep imagining a bird trying to get in and wondering “why the hell is this door blocked? Isn’t this a house for birds??”
He stands on the post, day after day, chirping & singing in different cadences thinking it's an "open says a me" situation!
He blocked it? I didn't notice, even on repeated viewing. If so, good, so Gollum won't be ripped apart by the first angry homesteader.
ITs like a Diorama geocache! Omg.....that should be made a thing! Geocaches but their little hidden dioramas!
Someone made a diorama of a church of Mike Wazowski, and hid it in a library for people to find. That one was pretty funny.
@@DalamusUlom yea i remember that one, was pretty funny indeed, it was cool seeing it on video, maybe this can truly become a thing
that is a thing. the geocache idea is pretty old one. I just realized it's apparently trending online a couple days ago.
Nah, that would be awesome
Bobby Fingers is pretty much the expert on this.
My son and I stumbled across your video. We live less than 5 minutes from your hiding place. Off we went for an awesome walk and adventure!! Mafe for a very enjoyable Sunday morning.
The 7 eleven is the tell.
Ahhhh…I know where this is! I grew up near here!!! But I’m in Thailand right now and desperately hope it’s still there when we get back!!
What an awesome build and fun idea! Thanks Boylei, and good luck hunting everyone!!!
for you i hope it is
when do you get back`? also we will need an update
Show us a video of you finding it
You should make a video about finding it, that'd be so neat
Ask someone you know to grab it
There was a segment on CBS Sunday Morning about a woman who built small gnome houses and hid them in their local park. They were wonderful to look at and the community enjoyed searching them out for the inspirational messages each one held. The city, being an uptight, stick up their butt type city deemed them a nuisance and removed them. Sigh.... I do love this.
Ahhhhh Government; the cause of, and the cause of, all of life's misery.
Why can’t we have nice things?
My boys and I just found it!! They had a blast looking for it and I had fun figuring out where it was last night! Great idea!!!
I hope people protect this thing and it becomes a small treasure for the community 😊
Went and looked at this birdhouse with my dad today we instantly recognized the trails you were walking on my brother and i spent most of our summers riding along this creek 15-20 years ago
Did you get a picture and send it to Boylei? I bet he would love that!
@@wallabaatar I did take a picture, just not a fan of sending pictures of myself to people on the internet.
@@cmac128222 you could blur your face
@@cmac128222yeah, I get that. I’ll probably just send him a picture without my face in it. So cool that you found it!
My girls and I are gonna drive across town to look for it. We are stoked to see some Boylei in the wild!
We found it!!! And it makes us SO happy! Now I have to go on the hunt for Mr. Boylei’s email address!
@@stephaniesilvey Cool! The email is in the channel 'about' section, Boyleihobbies / gmail (don't want to paste the whole email address since I think bots will scrape emails and add them to mailing lists otherwise)
@@JoshMcBThank you! The email wasn’t available on my phone. Laptop did the trick. Thanks again!
I'm 95% sure I know where it's at. I just need to make sure my knee can bear walking along the creek.
@@dustinduncan2444 funny clue
After some detective work I was able to find it. I live about an hour from there so I will try to go there sometime. I enjoyed the LOTR content and the public engagement content. I would love to see some more in the future. Cheers!
Wait a minute....Boylei isnt just a pair of hands?!
No fish
I hope whoever finds this leaves it there for others to find. It could be very tempting to take home a Boylei artwork...
I found it! Within about a hundred feet on google maps, that is :P I wish I still lived there so I could go adventure for it myself! Happy hunting to everyone!
Fun fact, that 7/11 was the most popular gas station in all of the kingdom of Numenor!!
After a long day battling Sauron's forces of evil, a Slurpee and a hot dog really hits the spot.
@@och70 An Easterling fellow owns it, but he's a very nice guy!
A Boylei Hobby video ending with a segment similar to the adventure UA-cam creators I like to watch was also a nice Easter egg for me lol. Gollum looks awesome, good job once again!
So Cool! I love how the light shifts when you turn or tilt the box. I hope it'll be out there for a long, long time. And I secretly hope a bird will come and make a nest in it, giving Gollem some company.
Quick, someone tag that Geoguesser guy. Lol
This guy is sending people on treasure hunts love it amazing work ive been a fan of your work for a while now and you never seem to amazed me you are a big inspiration to me i would love to find this and and see your work in person but idk where this is
Anyone else waiting for him to paint the exterior in Black 4.0 and calling it good? Hahaha
Just checked all of Australia. No where to be found. Dang
nothing from antarctica either
Wow, you guys are fast, checking out whole countries in a few hours!
You're creativity on this channel always inspires me.
Found it on Google Maps but I'm in England so it's a bit far away for me, ha ha! Would have loved to see it though. :)
Wow. That road goes ever on and on
I wonder if a Bear lives near that Creek?
Whelp, looks like I’m going to have to head across town to my old stomping grounds sometime this week to catch a glimpse of a Boylei original in the wild.
Not all those who wonder are lost.
I love this! I wish I loved closer to the targeted area!
I love public art like this. I’d love to see more.
It's not in Portugal, just checked that 😂. Love the idea! Good luck on the hunt!
Treasure! This is such a fun idea, especially as spring is coming, and beautiful diorama (I think that was a mink!).
"Dad, can I go outside?" - "Not until all your foamwork is done!"
Truly a Labor of Love, Boylei! Thanks for making this, and leaving it as a treat for passersby to get a pleasant surprise, and admire as they hike! May your diorama last long in its outdoor display place, and bring amazement to many hikers over the coming decades! And may you get plenty of selfies in reply!
I hope you decide to make additional, outdoor surprise displays. "Fairy Houses" are popular projects along these lines. And who knows? Maybe a Wild Imaginary West themed scene, or two, as well . . . ?
Thanks for sharing this! I hope you have a Healthy and Happy Easter!
My Like is in the 1.1Ks.
what a cool idea for a geocaching day out - leave a little door for a notepad for all to sign and date. shame it got stolen. maybe offer it as a journey to your subs and really make it hard to find and remove :) thanks for your vids
You're going to scare the crap out of some bird lmao. They're going to go in and see Smeagol staring back at them lmao.
Gollum- my precious 😅
Geocaching dioramas should come into fruition.....that would be awesome! 😊
Watching you make this, awesome. Hiding it out there for others to find and enjoy, awesome. Feel you should make it a Geocache to share with a wider audience. Many hiders would love to see this creative diorama, and be jealous of it.
I live no where close to you, but that was an awesome build. And yes, you seen a mink on your walk.
Absolutely fantastic idea and execution my friend. Love it!
I saw you guys driving thru Denver one Christmas, you gonna go find it?
It’s gonna be near Denver CO since he’s confirmed that he lives near Denver in older videos. But that’s all I know.
I've seen him irl lol cuz hes my Dad's friends friend and he went to my house for dinner a couple years back (like 1 or 2)
Superb. This is the kind of 'shadow box' diorama I love. Hope you also obtured the front hole with acrylic to avoid any bord nesting in there...
Beautiful design, wide artistic imagination, and your work’s technique is distinctive. Thank you for your efforts
I gotta agree it's a mink. Looks too smol and slinky to be a fisher, def not a longtail weasel. Cool diorama, I hope it lasts a while in the wild!
It's my runaway weasel he escaped and is now living feral down by the River. 😊
I thought that it was a muskrat.
Captain & Tennille "Muskrat Love" (look it up!)😂❤
@@marshawargo7238 Nah, muskrats aren't long-bodied like that.
Awesome idea! Beautiful result. Thanks for sharing your time, talent, idea and your adventure.👍🤟🪡🎨
This was fantastic! The effect that the birdhouse's natural lighting lends to the diorama within is perfect! I hope this stays intact where you placed it. Also, yes, that is a mink! We live on a river and see them all the time. Had one laying dead on our property along the river bank just a couple weeks ago, in fact. I'm not sure what happened to the little guy. He wasn't chewed up or bloody or anything like that, so who knows? Awesome piece, my friend! God bless!
The Boylei lore runs deep, he's more than a voice and pair of hands!
Found it on google maps!! Looks like the dogs and I are going for a walk!! Thanks Boylei!
Where is it!!! 😂
7:42 is my only clue... :)@@montackinp6935
Very cool!!! Wonderful idea!
Just want to compliment the composition of each of the shots of Boylei wandering about, also really appreciate the way they nicely transition into each other how well put together are. Other than that, awesome build as always!
Without acrylic over the little window, wouldn't it be possible - even likely - that birds would move in and share a nest with Gollum?
In some of the hike-shots you can see it. He did put a cover over the window.
Right, I'm saying without it - do you think birds would nest in there? @@dirtywhitellama
Beautiful work, Boylei! I hope someone finds the diorama soon.
Meanwhile some poor bird is saying "wtf" ....
That not only came out awesome, but it was a very cool idea to be able to share it with everyone. I hope that they all respect your wishes and and leave it for everyone to enjoy.
👍👍👍
It's not in Nova Scotia, I just checked, so we can rule that out.
Colorado...some where.
@@martinm3474bear creek lake park, stone House trail
Also greetings from Nova Scotia. . .
I don't think it's in Texas so I probably wont ever get to see it :(
What part of Nova Scotia? I live close to Yarmouth.
4:07 One of the clues is here, on the right
if you go out in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise...This was such a great idea! It is a bummer someone swiped it.
That's an awesome idea. Dune theme could be cool; 3D Sandworm mouth behind a painting or something like that..?
That looks amazing. I love all your work, but the lighting and effect in this is frankly stunning. You have leveled up. Thank you for sharing this.
Such a cool build.
My nephews just finished the LOTR trilogy this weekend so I showed them this video. They're hooked and working their way through your library.
What a fun idea. Nice job and now, to watch it again.
Just went and saw it today. We left a little art of our own, and our art was gone before we completed our walk. I can confirm Golum survived the tornado style wind. Thank you for sharing your art with all of us. I was so elated to find it after our search.
LOVE this idea and you should totally make this a series
Happy Ressurrection Sunday to you too, bro!
Wow. Great build and even greater idea. It's "precious"
Beautiful diorama. I love it!
Masterful work Boylei! Shame to hear it was stolen.
Beautiful concept and result friend. I hope that this takes off and people keep on with it. God bless brother, keep up the good work.
Finally! A glimpse of the elusive woodland Boylei!
Damn! I was hoping I'd recognize the place, but I knew you were nowhere near me as soon as I saw snow. This is amazing! I wish I could see it in person!
Absolutely awesome, thank you for such a wonderful video
Wonderful idea and a great result. God bless you
I know whet that is! That's down the road from my place!!! XD
This is a whole new level. Fantastic!
That is such a cool idea! Great job on the diorama, and great subject matter! Love it!
happy Easter
Thats awesome !
Glad to see that it was still there as of yesterday (4/6/2024)!
epic build with integration with the real world. Love the concept would love to see more!
You see, I’ve seen many things that I believe are clues, but I do not believe I could piece them together as I live many states away. Good luck to all who search for it!
Back in the early 90s, my thought project was Abandon Barn Art. Make ceramic object to leave in a mostly empty barn.
I was not mentally, emotionally, or spiritually prepared for full-body boylei.
great work! more lotr builds plz!
Living on the other side of the Atlantic, I doubt I'll see this in real life, but what an awesome idea! Happy easter to you too Boylei!
I found it and it looks amazing!
I really love this idea and I know it will inspire others! Your videos just keep getting better and better. Thank you for this Easter egg
You have to be one of the most talented people in this platform, keep up the great work!
Great video.
Happy reresection day.
Blessed Resurrection Sunday Boylei.
Amen
I taught he would build a Easter diorama when begin with a rocky background
Golumn died for out sins.
Why did he do this? Leaving it out in woods?..
Love this!! I hope you continue to do more dioramas hidden in the real world haha
Really cool. I wonder what the baby birds will think of Gollum.
Great idea! Terrific diorama today!
There's gonna be some confused birds at one point XD
Great Idea ....It Will get More People Out into the Fresh Air......Best of Luck Everyone.
Thank you for this video! 😀🌺🌺🌺
I found the general area with google street view but sadly dont live in that part of the country anymore! Great idea!
It's gone!!😢
Very clever.
This would make an amazing geocache
Just imagine how much the first birdzies shit itself the first time it flew into what it thought was a lovely new home....only to be confronted by a gollumzies that wants to eats it...😂😂😂
Love the idea
Randomly popped into my head, I'd love to see the main street built for the WIW town. I'm imagining local ordinances in place to keep mechs and wagons on one side and foot traffic on the other, then everything getting held up because two twits are having a duel in the middle of town and causing a traffic jam. Would be a great opportunity to make tons of minis with lots of little mini stories going, like a kid chasing a jackalope, a horse being freaked out by a mech, a street vendor selling dodgy forestalls...
