    Thanks for the demo. Just received this printer today. Looking forward to seeing what it can do for me since I'm a complete noob to the 3D printing scene.

    Z lead screw being not hold on the top is in fact better, because if the leadscrew bend and you put it into two bearings, it will induce Z-wobble.

      Great way to start out. Make sure u get your post processing procedure set up well. Do lots of research on model placement and supports. Forget what you have learnt about that with FDM as it is quite different. Good luck!

    I was checking out your printer settings page and only see the Photon, Photon S, and the Mono X. Are you still planning to put the settings guide up for the Zero?

    Hi, using the photon workshop, how do you slice the model into .pw0
    format? Mine only has the option for slicing into .pws format.

    Never use a metal scraper, you might damage the print platform.
    Upgrade the resin vat to the one made out of aluminium so you can disassemble the FEP and clean the vat thoroughly with acetone without damaging it so your installed FEP's wont get damaged due to residue collecting on the vat.

    Thanks for the walk through :) Do you recommend buying this or the original Photon for a first 3d printer? Anycubic have both for the same price right now and I'm interested in taking the plunge into miniature printing.

      @MyklCarlton 4 роки тому +3

      Having run a Photon for about 10 months I'd strongly suggest it rather than the Zero. Larger print volume and higher resolution screen for the same price? You also don't have to find somewhere to put the cover while you're doing stuff.

    my printer doesnt read the file on usb stick. i just bought and i dont know why it happened

    • @MyklCarlton
      @MyklCarlton 4 роки тому

      Be careful with the names of your files, try to make them short and simple. Check that the printer model in the software is the same as the actual printer and look at the example files on the usb stick - what is the file extension (the three letters after the fullstop)? Make sure that is what your sliced file is being saved as.
      Also, try not to have too many files on the usb stick. Try to give the printer as little to get confused about as possible!

    Why does everyone want a double-bearing threaded rod? Accuracy and durability should come from the linear bearing and not from the threaded rod, so it's actually better to have these just with a single bearing.

    Buyer beware photon slicing software (proprietary) requires a gpu that
    will run open gl 3.3 or higher. a surprising number of windows laptops
    WILL NOT. Even many windows 10 units. Their gpu is actually capable of
    running 3.3 but intel refuses to release a driver upgrade thus stalling
    them @3.1. The same chip (intel hd 3000) has 3.3 drivers officially
    released for linux and apple. It's a cool printer, but is it worth
    having to buy a new computer?
