What a great series. I can’t believe I just spent 90 minutes listening to the story of a car being built, nothing from Hollywood has captivated me for that long in the past 20 years. Can’t wait to hear about the Pioneer coupe
Thanks Mark, I take that as we are heading in the right direction with our content
Normally I get excited when I find a good TV series on Netflix. Your series of builds is just as exciting to watch and a bonus of learning alot as well.
Good to hear mate, welcome
Gday Howard, I was born in 1983 and my father is a car guy. I remember all your builds from my earliest childhood memories especially the pioneer coupe . Many of your vehicles were displayed on my bedroom wall . I’ve now been a qualified motor mechanic since 2003 .
Love these UA-cam videos mate
Cheers 👍🏻
Hi, good to here your enjoying the industry. Plenty of worse things to spend your money on.
I can listen to you for hours. I currently own the exact same model, and boy, do I wish to have mine getting a makeover like that.
Hi, thanks for the support. Is yours still all original?
I’ve been following ur cars since the 90s when I was a young kid
The fairlane is and always has been my favourite car of yours 😊
Thanks Lane, it drove really good for a modified vehicle
as a 17yo kid I remember getting Mum to write a cheque for one of those Rock Solid jackets via mail order.
still have it somewhere here too!
I might still have that order in the file. The things you keep. Good to have you following
Thank you for sharing a look at how things were done. It is very inspiring with all of the creativity and build quality. It is a very stout build, not just beautiful. It appears to be very strong, with all of the steel framework.
Thanks Eric
It was the first street machine magazine i got.
Fantastic car. 👍🏻
Thank Murray, lots of cars since then.
Thank guys great car again 👏 so much for thought an incredibly built I remember buying every street machine I could so I could enter the draw. Years laid did own a 64 compact wish it looked like yours. Cheers guys
Thanks for sharing! It was a unique build in it time
Once again.Thank You so much for the series....Best Wishes to You and Dale...Truly Inspirational
Thanks Shane
Thanks Howard for another amazing video. The engineering, the EFI 5.0 the build quality you set the standard, absolutely enjoyed every second of this video, the hour and a half seemed to take 10 minutes, it's brings back so many great memories reading about your builds in street machine when I was younger.
Thanks mate
I had a 63 in exactly the same colour combo
Ours belonged to a local funeral director so only had 12000 kms on it
I put it back to original with the side stripes in gold paint and we put xc Fairmont wheels on it and it looked very good
Did mine in 84 👍👍👍
I was at summer nats 2 in 89 it was so different back then
sounds like a nice ride, Things certainly have changed
Another outstanding achievement Howard. I still vividly remember that time when Rock IV was out and still have my minty copy of Street Machine I purchased from my local news agent.
Wonderful memories !!
Thanks Howard.
Thanks for listening, and following the channel
Unbelievable amount of work in a short time and considering the starting condition and also the compliance factor this car was an absolute credit to you. Loving the build series.
Thanks Leslie, Like I said don't know how we did it
One of the best looking fairlanes made , hoping to get one for my next project after I finish my zb fairlane .
Would be a good follow up to the ZB
Zb,s are a cool sled.
Really enjoying this series guys, thanks
Thanks plenty to do yet
Hands down my most favourite of all your cars Howard, thoroughly enjoyed this episode.
Great to hear!
I bought the Yello (race) CD from your display at Adelaide hot 🔥 rod show 1991! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🏎
Love them CD’s, still good to listen too
Another great episode, thanks guys
Our pleasure
Still remember seeing you drive this car down the main street of Mount Gambier!
That was an awesome weekened
Hi Howard,
I still have photos of this car when you brought it over to Perth for a car show in 1992.
Great build.
Thanks Jeff, we got over there a couple of times
Violet rumble. Love it, cool shots from Mad Max scenes..great video once again Howard.
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome video, as a young fella frothing over this car in magazines i never realised the work that went into Rock 4 especially by you personally. Hats off to Dale also for not harassing you about using HQ calipers and chev stubs in the build 🤣.
That's Andrew, I'm sure a lot of people didn't realise we were at home nocking about
Hey Howard
I own Sydney West Garage Doors, if you need more of those track lugs let me know.
i got heaps of them haha.
Hey Steve, I'll keep that in mind
Awesome always top notch interesting content thanks Howard..👌👌
Probably one of the most unique cars built at the time..
The colour was phenomenal
Glad you enjoyed it, It would have been good in the red styling
Was up for sale in qld a month or so back. Another great episode 👍🏻
Cheers Toddy
Outstanding
Thanks Matt
Thank you Howard Im still love the Red XA the pro street look I always maybe you would of gone Andrews Holeworths Xr Look in your designs
Good call!
Another great episode. It sure would of looked great red and white.
Yeah I know
Rock 4, with its EFI 5.0, endless engineered fabrication and what were basically the same wheels from a Ferrari F40, was a step-change in the Australian car scene.
Thanks Peter, they were certainly interesting times
🔥🏎
👍
Interesting fact. The Fairlane was not found at location( MM2) of pic. It was trailered there for the pics.
Correct, once the deal was done needed a photo for the magazine
Another great vid Howard 👍👌i followed the build of this in the mag , on a side note what is your favorite
There like kids, you cant have a favorite. There all different and special in there own way
@@AstillDesign this is true 👍
Let’s go
You bet ya
Hey Howard is the red Xy on the street machine magazine the red one one tuff Xy is that car still around ?
Correct, Craig Parker’s car
Did you mean "Infinite Baffle" for the Free Space sub's 😁
No mate, they were promoted and sold as a "free space" worked good if the boot was a sealed area from the cabin.
@@AstillDesign it's still IB, the whole boot is the box, if the subs have a Qtc of .7 they're ideal as they need a massive box to work properly will sound overly tight in a normal size box
Wish I still had my 808 😢
we all wish we had all them old cars
A W S O M E
Cheers Mate
gross colour, never understood pink cars...
Hey mate, was a sign of the times. The colour was a pastel purple but always photographed pink.
Seriously!?, 30 years ago?. I remember buying the street machine mag with this on the front cover.
Just the other day
