I wrote off one of the comments asking about Enkidu's powers and his late master but now that I sit on it, that line of questioning actually does bring up an incredibly important notion to ponder about. I think I have an explanation for it. Time and time again Enkidu's EXS/powers have been stated to be minuscule, and that he is more human than in-birth. Vatista confirms that if an average in-birth's "power level of EXS" was a 100, Enkidu is just at a 5. Merkava states that Enkidu's EXS is hardly existent at all. I always assumed that Enkidu became an in-birth shortly before the first chronicle mode because that's about a couple months before Hilda recruited him. This is relevant because someone asked if Enkidu had "powers for his whole life" or at least when his master was still alive. My working theory is that when Enkidu was bitten, the bite ended up small and his EXS was barely punctured because SOMETHING ELSE was already in there, kind of like Byakuya but something completely different than a Void. Enkidu's master knew this before he explicitly got powers and set him on his journey of strength to keep this non-void entity pacified. This starts to line up because Maelstrom is hardly an "ability" given Vatista and Merkava's observations. Enkidu had those wrist-cuffs on since we've met him and his power has absolutely nothing to do with his IWEXS. If Enkidu's EXS is nonexistent then that must mean there is hardly a "void-entity" inside him to take over. Instead, a literal fucking demon was living inside him this whole time and there was simply no room for in-birth powers to really take root in his body. Enkidu lets his thing out when he uses his IWEXS where his shackles disintegrate, his face and tattoo start glowing, and even the activation line is the same with his "ultimate fist". I compare this to the handful of other endings that have other characters risking "inverse" from their other-selves. Enkidu doesn't acknowledge this "other self" but flat out calls whatever is inside him as a "demon". So the Kouma reference further intensifies. As a bonus I think we see Merkava, Vatista, Enkidu, Wagner, and Londrekia actually use their IWEXS in the story now. Maybe even Chaos.
So there seem to be powers beyond EXS. Wasn't Lond's Genesis described as something that goes beyond EXS even? Both Enkidu's demon and Lond's genesis are IWEXS...
Enkidu's powers seem independent of EXS powers, at least that's how I'm surmising how Merkava and Vatista can't get a read on him because they can only "detect" EXS but not whatever is inside Enkidu. Cocytus visually doesn't seem like a stretch for Lond's abilities while Enkidu goes from fireball -> gravity squeeze into nuclear punch.
@@DeepestDankestWho can be Enkidu's master though? Night Blade? Someone from older Licht Kreis? Enkidu's master must be very powerful to seal something like that power right? Also what Enkidu have might be different than EXS or Void you theorized then Is it some kind of divine being? Did Enkidu born with this power or did he get it later during training with his master?
We know nothing of Enkidu's master. I do not think he has any affiliation to the groups that we know. I don't think Enkidu had something external physically sealed inside him, he was just born with it or something of that nature.
I just realized this is a whole ass reference to Tsukihine and Kouma. Kouma has demon blood, so he chooses to live as a hermit in the mountains away from Civilization so that he doesn’t go on a rampage.
Enkidu let go of his humanity to save the world, albeit, mostly to satisfy his own understanding of strength while Kouma did it in retaliation for a family that never loved him. Enkidu's extra hair does seem more on the Akuma side though.
I’ve only gone through a few arcade modes, but I think it’s cool that Phonons ending kinda explains Enk’s tattoo. He has a tiny amount of power, but he’s so ridiculously good at controlling it that it’s permanently shown off.

I wouldn't think to link those two in particular. Phonon is channeling her power through Muni, Enkidu is just barely channeling anything.
