Je suis toujours impressioné par Miles Davis mais je suis aussi très impressionné par le format d'interview, très en avance sur son temps !!
This gentleman is superlative.
His music, especially with Gil Evans, but not denying with Coltrane and the ultimate Kind of Blue album which is ethereal and transcends Music.
So grateful so have seen him twice in London. Unforgettable .
He was MILES ahead of his generation !!

I'm not convinced that what Miles said is what he actually felt. I think that Miles understood the ebb & flow of celebrity. I think that a lot of what he said was merely him being "charismatic". He's human, so there were aspects of his character that spoke to some unscrupulous behavior. Nonetheless, I don't think anyone will ever no to what extent was he "pulling our leg". Part of the mystique that was his persona IS the fact that we would never know his true motives. Just my opinion...
jazzriff having had one high school friend who was too real to be real, my view would be MD was 90/10 himself. The way my friend was is the person I met in Myle's biographies. Got shook up at first coz we both didn't know the man growing up.

I like your perspective.
Miles said that the reason he turned to the band instead of his audience on stage is so that he could hear the true sounds of the instruments. If he faces the audience the sound travels downward giving an illusion of the true chords that were being played by the audience.
I agree with the 1st commenter. That miles was being transparent all the time. And I think that the world is so conditioned to hide their true feelings and not step on anyone's toes so much that when they see someone who lives in their truth without the caring that it makes that person appear so different. When really complex=simple.

sebrinol colorin because he quiz smoking after suffering his 1st stroke in I think 1982 where one of his hands was partially paralyzed. He was still smoking at the time so from then he quit smoking and chewing gum I guess became the substitute for quitting smoking.
Only critics got that shit off- LOL
