Great video! Years ago I played in a band and did a lot of big shows. There was something wrong with one of the ableton sessions where it basically skipped a beat in the middle of the song. So all of a sudden there was a 3/4 where there should have been a 4/4… so the whole band was 1 beat out of sync with the backing 😅. It happened more than once too… The third time it happened our drummer just yelled out ‘3!’ and we all played a 3/4 getting us back in sync.
This whole POV series adds such a human element to big bands for me its wild. Yall really are just other people and its crazy to think how sometimes that gets blurred by the fame. love the look into this life, and hope you feel better soon brian!!
A band would have melted down. You all are a family that happens to be a band. That post show chat to understand and appreciate what happened to avoid it in the future was amazing to watch. No finger pointing, no blame, some gentle ribbing and hugs/high fives all around. Love seeing this!! We miss you Brian! The guys have your back and can’t wait to see you on the road again. Hopefully we get to see you in Dubuque in July!!!
Hey Gabe! Me and a good friend are trying to start a band. We are talking about doing auditions at my house so we can see what everybody wants to play and what genres they’re good at. Any advice for when we start the band and what we can do?
I was at the last show in Brussels and so glad you guys didnt cancel. Dylan absolutely smashed it on vocals and the show was an easy 11/10, keep killing it! All the best to Brian!
Student audio tech/stage tech here. I find this video very cool and interesting for a multitude of reasons. First of all, it's amazing to see the perspective of various band members, but it's also amazing that we get to hear exactly what you're hearing through your IEMs. As a student, I found it really fascinating how later after your set, your monitors engineer explained what happened and where the communication issues were. It truly is an invaluable learning experience to be able to hear the teams communication during stressful issues at performance time. Amazing save, you guys killed it!
Ngl i really appreciated that apology at the end, most people here probably understand how tense and stressful being in a band can be at times, effective comms will only improve that, well done for nailing that sh!t when it went t!ts up
The fact Gabe put what he heard and also how they recovered from having NO tracks and click ,amazing work Gabe thank you also freaking Dylan killed on Brian’s vocals!!! JON MESSES UP EVERYTHING 🤣🤣🤣 Also when Dylan was pressing Gabe about the camera recording I instantly said Flashback and secs later the flashback happened and I was dying laughing, seriously Gabe thank you for these povs Did the click come back at any certain point?
They would have had the click for the next track. They mentioned how Ableton (The software DAW they were using) needed to be restarted. So they wouldn't have been able to jump back in with clicks in that song cuz there's no way they would have been able to line it up with the band. But, the next one would have been good to go.
The fact this took place in Milwaukee warms my heart because I live an hour away from Milwaukee but I also got to witness 2 different kinds of shows that took place at the Fiserv Forum Arena!
Gabe, for the humbleness I know you have. I think you are an amazing friggen drummer. Listening to how you play and your UA-cam channel has totally made me get back into drumming. Thanks again! Went and bought a nice VDrums set and am loving it…… Again!!!
I'll be playing the drums in my first festival next friday with my band, there's still a week left but I'm already nervous. Watching your festival videos make me feel excited but scared at the same time!
This is my absolute dream, I’m a 16 year old drummer from the UK and I’ve been playing drums for the last 7 years. To play in a concert like this, I would DIE of happiness, I just hope I can do it :) thank you for inspiring me to KEEP GOING 🎉
Goodluck! I’m in a newly assembled band (made it with a friend and another person, then another joined after hearing about our band which is the vocalist) and I’ve just started learning how to play bass. I can already play a few songs and i’m really hoping to improve, because at the end of the term in our music lessons we perform a gig in front of friends and family. Nervous but excited 😅
bro, im from brazil and dont even know how to play drums, but your videos are so fun to see. The editing, cuts, timing, you're basically a storyteller when explain something about living in a band. Happy to find your channel here!
I've seen the band 3 times (Toronto). Back in 2017 when Brian sustained a vocal injury, Dylan took the wheel on vocals and was amazing! I can't wait to see you guys again in Toronto this summer!!! Awesome Video Gabe.
This POV is such a treat. The Eye of Sauron was a hoot! Brian, It seems like your band family and your fans are an amazing support system. With all of this love around you and your strength, you will be mended so very soon! Best wishes!
My band lost all backing tracks and click for most of a set so I totally understand the panic. It’s amazing how, for the most part, the audience doesn’t notice and will tell you what a great show it was. Those moments seem catastrophic but you can laugh about it later and realize the show was still a success.
I really like this kind of content. It gives the fans more understanding about what the artist dealing with at the show, and you really good making this seem so dramatic at first, so it makes me curious with what's gonna happen next. You're really good story teller, gabe! And I Prevail members and the crew seem so fun to watch. Wish Brian for speedy recovery 🙏
Gabe, I earned some of my most valuable playing experience from a church I attended for 9 years. Not just Sunday mornings. We sometimes traveled to other locations. David's Tent in Washington DC was one of them. It's non-stop 24 hour music. Myself and a few band mates from church booked a time slot. The music literally cannot stop. We had to slide in as the previous musicians slid out. It was WAY outside my comfort zone, but in a very healthy way, and ultimately so exhilarating. Learned a lot about playing with a band and being OK with unplanned parts of a performance. Being led by the spirit. Having a structure and a plan, but leaving room for free-flow adaptations. Not always possible depending on the situation, and it's a little more common / easier to do in worship territory anyway.. but I think any band in any genre can benefit from it as it produces some of the most genuine authentic moments.
All my wishes to Brian. I hope you feel better soon man. That sounds terrible. You guys absolutely killed it. Loving the new intro as well. There’s fear in letting go is easily my favorite song. Great job guys. ❤
I look forward to these uploads so much, they're so fun to watch and I don't know if you have an editor or you edit them yourself but I love the humor it adds! Great job guys and get well soon Brian!
Gabe, you tell incredible stories! And the edit on this one was off the fucking CHAIN!! That section with the flip from crowd to in-ears is fucking genius my man you are killing this POV game 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
These POVs are some of my favourite videos hands down! It’s awesome to get an insight from massive bands like I Prevail. Hope to get many more of these now that you are on tour again!🙌🏼
22:35 OMFGGGG I played in my church band and had the ear buds in. If I heard a single chord ringing out through the entire rest of the song I would actually lose my mind lmfaooo
Hitting that small break spot at 19:15 without a klick is a real hero act as a band. Nice keeping time. When i did cover song with my old band, hitting the nail on the top after such small in song breaks, really feels amazing.
I am sorry for always being slow in understanding. I just watched this video again with Japanese subtitles. I am very surprised. In fact, my father has a disease that causes stiffening of tendons all over his body. He had to have it surgically removed about 15 years ago because a nerve in his back was compressed by it. The operation was successful, but my father's body is less flexible than most people because of his disease (constitution). I have a little bit the same constitution as my father. But like you and my father, I do not need surgery. But he is ridiculously energetic and positive. My father does not speak English but he is interested in foreign countries, he likes to travel and he often takes me with him. (He doesn't go abroad very often 🤣)I love my father. What I am trying to say is that you need time to recover. If you are in pain, medication, time and people around you can help ease it. Please don't rush it, take plenty of time and take your time to heal. Brian, get better soon!!!!❤️🔥
I know the drummer is just as important as the singer. But this shows JUST how important the drummer is. Even I felt anxious when the clicking stopped.
Dude this is one of the coolest things i've seen, just stumbled on it in my recommended, as soon as the intro started i was like "oh this is I Prevail" can't wait to scope out the rest of the videos.
Wishing Brian a speedy recovery and wishing you guys all the best on the tour! Hearing you guys covet NIN head like a hole was insane! Eric killed those lyrics and for never hearing the song before you did great Gabe. You guys all stepped up to the plate despite everything
UA-cam recommended Drum Beats Online from my Drumeo viewing. Now I found I Prevail and I love them! Your channel is 🔥 and the friendship between you all is inspirational.
Its amazing how a lil mess up, can show how absurdly coordinated/synergized you guys are. And hearing you all just laugh and have fun joking around after the show figuring out what happened goes to show how strong your guys' friendships are. Its so cool to watch these POV videos!
love your content you inspired me to be a drummer no finger pointing just gentle polite handshakes and hugs!! brian we miss you i hope for a full recovery!!
I was excited the entire time as if I was up for the gig myself. As a vocalist and drummer I can only say that this is such an exhilarating emotion every time, before and after the show, no matter how big or small. Thank you for this video!
I love the glimpse in to what it's actually like. I love the POV and the band mix stuff. I love hearing what you hear and showing how the show comes together from your end.
I haven't listened to I Prevail before but after watching this video I'll definitely check you guys out. This video showed a whole different side to the shows me and everyone else sees live and I loved every second of it. Hopefully more bands try something like this out because it would be cool to see everyone pre/post show stuff as well as the onstage panics and successes.
I'm just a Brazilian with a dream of becoming a professional drummer, and seeing your video today the way you faced your problem just made me more excited, thank you very much bro
Loving this video, just commenting about what goes on through my mind before a performane. When I used to perform (piano player) for concerts and shows, started Classical, done Jazz/Blues/Rock/Latin, any genre of music that I could learn to expand my knowledge. To me it was silencing the crowd in your mind and hitting that first note. After that, your natural instincts kick in and you just play. For me, my fingers just moved, and even if I hit a wrong note, I would flow right over it as if it was part of the song. Music is the ultimate language and being able to tell your story with your instrument is one of the best feelings ever. Thank you for this amazing POV video. I can feel 2nd hand anxiety from this video from that moment right before playing. Except for you its a sold out arena! Love for Brian! Love for I Prevail!
Love the vid, dude. At 17:08 remembers me the experience I had live, when all went too loud and my reflex was to throw the in ears off. The nightmare! Thank you for sharing it all, though! Love you guys
I prevail is quite literally the band that got me into the metal scene with their album heart vs mind back in 2015. Before that album i never considered metal as a genre id enjoy. Thanks to i prevail Its now my favorite genre and ive learned to love many genres of metal. Ive even started to learn to play the drums taking huge inspiration from I prevail, Sleep Token, and linkin park. Thank you I prevail
I've never used in ears during a show, but I also never played an Arena or a big Festival. It's ALWAYS on the drummer to keep the band in time, so even amidst that debacle you kept it going strong Gabe. I've seen this video before but I have been living vicariously through you in the last 2 days by binging these POV videos. They are incredibly helpful to show the world how hard it is to deliver with such a big audience! You all crushed it, and I am sure Brian approved of the job the buys did in covering his parts. That takes pure balls of steel to step into that shadow and try to do it justice. All in all I'd say HUGE success! Wishing Brian a speedy recovery, even tho I know this is post op and he is getting back to a full bill of health. That's the important part more than anything for the band alone, and the audiences' reactions says it all!!! Killed it!!
I saw you in Düsseldorf, it was honestly one of the best concerts I have ever seen, you guys did a great job filling in for Brian and covering those songs. Liebe aus Deutschland, kommt bald wieder!
Said it last week to a friend of mine. Everyone, no matter how big the band is, who plays in front of fans, is an absolute machine. You guys have to nail it every single time. You have to know every beat, every note, every line of lyrics from several songs, even several albums. That is just fucking mindblowing. For you guys its normal, routine but thinking about the effort, chapeau.
kudos to you for keeping in time with no click. Unless your lighting is busked (it looks timecoded) you stayed perfectly in time. Extremely impressive.
Always enjoy seeing stuff like this. Brings the human aspect back into it all. My band and I are working our way up and with some shows, not everything goes as planned. It's easy to beat yourself up when you lose a stick or something like that but it helps to remember that it happens to everyone.
Wtf? Never had such a great, immersive experience before. We played in front of 20 people long time ago with my band. 😂 Wow. Amazing job u did. Not only on stage, the whole process. Awesome! Now it is time for 360° filming 😂 Im flashed! Greetings from Germany Now I have to join your music! 👍🏻
Dude and I'm here thinking Playback stopping and Propresenter crashing in the middle of a worship service was a reason enough to panic, I couldn't imagine things going wrong in front of an arena full of people. Great job keeping the show going and staying solid Gabe!
I cannot wait for the Gilford NH show next month! I’ve been listening to you guys since I was 14 (24 now). A friend recommended the band to me and I was completely blown away! Hope Brian gets better soon!
yesssssssssssssssssssss i ve been waiting for a new pov video, i absolutely love them, the news about bryan on ig were quite sad to see, but i think every fan is as happy as i am that bryan is recovering from his disease
This is my dream! To be play for a crowd and having witnessed you do it, really made me feel like I was playing. I love it. Please make more vids like this. Thanks
Brian, you’re the absolute goat! To be honest, these videos make my day absolutely, I love the music; I have since I was a kid, and to see you all as people makes me love you all each even more. The perseverance, and continuity throughout emergencies and various situations, and still coming out absolutely ontop is paramount to your talent and love for what you do. I think you’ll be the sole reason I prick drums up!! Haha! Thank you so much again, I can’t word how much I enjoy your content, and self as a person.
Love these videos; definitely my favorite thing to watch on UA-cam. Hopefully I'll get to come see you guys live one of these days. Watching these makes me want to start learning how to play. I swear I could have a natural talent for this because I'm always beating and tapping to songs on something with my hands and anything I'm holding really.
Welcome to the Fiserv, it was awesome hearing you guys enjoying it. I love that arena and so upset because I was suppose to be there that night. No worries, I'll see you guys at the end of the year at theRave!!
This has got to be one of the coolest videos ive ever seen. Seeing this perspective is absolutely wild. I bet its one of the best feelings in the world
More! Give us more!!! This series is beyond awesome! As someone else said, it shows us the human element in everything and especially on my personally favourite aspect. How fucking physical it can be for musicians.
again this is a great video. Your POVs are simply amazing because it gives a very private look into what professional musicians are like when no fans are around. Thank you so much for this, and please keep it up because it enlightens each of my days watching you guys doing the performance and everything behind the stage.
Saw you guys last week at Slam Dunk North and you absolutely killed it!! Dylan and Eric really upped their games on vocals! The girlfriend said it was one of the best gigs she had seen and I was like, yeah, wait until Brian is back with them! It's on a whole other level! It feels like you guys are on the brink of something huge! I loved the additions of the screen and the horror movie vibes! Just got to the part where you mention that YOU made the visuals, dude they were epic! Can't wait to see what's next!
Thanks so much for this! This is the best thing I have seen on the internet today, and for a smaller musician like me,that I have only played to about maximum 1,500-2,000 people but I usually play for around 200 ,seeing how it is having such a huge Arena and all that equipment was like watching ...I don't know what...but it made all my problems and thoughts go away for a while,I watched the whole thing with my mouth open... Thank you so much, you have no idea what this experience made me feel like...Thanks!

What matters is that all of you guys recovered and still had fun even the fans. Brian will be proud 👍
Drummers are legit walking metronomes. Who needs a click when you have a drummer in your band?
That discussion of happiness at the end is the best feeling! ❤️
1 like = 1 W for Brian
Head like a hole cover on the drums was so freaking perfect. Almost a bit funky to start of, insane...
00:40 PAUSE 💀
We love you Brian! Get better soon!! 🙏
5:47 nice splash brother, you never fail playing those drums, its in you DNA
I fucking LOVE THIS ! I MEAN ALL OF IT , THE DRUMMER, VOCALIST, GUITARIST, ALL OF IT ! this gon be my fav band ngl !
Wow what an insane experience, the drummer "must go on". Killed it Gabe, well done sir..
Killed it!!
Poor Brian! Hope he heals fast and has a safe recovery. Im sure he is very proud. When are you guys coming to Michigan?
We'll be at Pine Knob in July!
I Watch your channel everyday gabe! Your the best drummer in the world! You make my day!
Amazing videos love the peak behind the curtain. Thank you.
I saw you in Düsseldorf, it was honestly one of the best concerts I have ever seen, you guys did a great job filling in for Brian and covering those songs. Liebe aus Deutschland, kommt bald wieder!
Thank you for introducing me to There's Fear In Letting Go. Seriously epic song and this live version is the icing on the cake.
Wow. Amazing job u did. Not only on stage, the whole process. Awesome! Now it is time for 360° filming 😂
Im flashed!
Greetings from Germany
Now I have to join your music! 👍🏻
Dude and I'm here thinking Playback stopping and Propresenter crashing in the middle of a worship service was a reason enough to panic, I couldn't imagine things going wrong in front of an arena full of people. Great job keeping the show going and staying solid Gabe!
Hope you get better soon Ryan Stay strong Hang in there
I cannot wait for the Gilford NH show next month! I’ve been listening to you guys since I was 14 (24 now). A friend recommended the band to me and I was completely blown away! Hope Brian gets better soon!
what is the name of this increedible band?
yesssssssssssssssssssss i ve been waiting for a new pov video, i absolutely love them, the news about bryan on ig were quite sad to see, but i think every fan is as happy as i am that bryan is recovering from his disease
This level of professionalism is a sign of a team gelling - I love the hilarity in the debrief- amazing channel- glad i found this one.
This has got to be one of the coolest videos ive ever seen. Seeing this perspective is absolutely wild. I bet its one of the best feelings in the world
Wow, what an incredible emotion! At the entrance to the stage I think my heart rate was 120! Great POV video. Thanks for this!
These videos are so cool! Its just nice to see what goes on behind closed doors with awesome bands! Youre doing great work! Dont ever stop!!!
