Most of your comments on how quiet the train is are mostly down to the fact it is now noise-isolated on the interior. It is also a quieter train but your described lack of ears ringing is because when it goes through high wind or tunnels, you're no longer having that wind screech into the train as there are no open windows. Nice video!
Its pretty boring. Most people dont really care about traction noise. Its usually the wind outside and loud track koiae thats an issue. But Its overly insulated. I think another way they mask it is by ramping up the noise of the AC. So it creates on board ambience illusion
@@gapthemind--mindthegap8524 I primarily brought up noise isolation because the noise of the wind and track is loud, hence discussing ringing ears, not that traction is the most of the issue. They also don't just run the AC up to "mask it", there have been times today the AC was outright *off* so that the underfloor heating could be on and I was able to hear tunnel screech but it was still fairly quiet. Yes it helps but it isn't intentional.
@metrotyler it would seem that the AC does that anyways. Youll always hear track screech. Its impossible not to. No matter what you do to the trains. Also the 555s seem to sound like they have a simar gear ratio to class 777s via the noise..the motor itself being geared down instead. Its a subtle thing to notice. Overall what im saying is alot of the motor sound os drowned out but motors make it interesting to ride so its kind of boring that its so bland because of the modern overly insulated body shells.
@@gapthemind--mindthegap8524 Ah that's what you mean. It still produces a whine that pitches up and down as it's speed changes which I love but it's much quieter than it otherwise could be. Give it 20 years and I'm sure it's isolation and sound will get worse haha
@metrotyler I assume youve been on them in real life to hear them better? And 20 years? We need that asap like on class 331s . Which have lovely traction sounds🤣🤣 Tbh from another video ive seen, the 555s sound decent. I think you just gotta be above the right wheelset

Look forward to the usual daily more reliable replacement bus service.
The metro now arriving is decades late........
And they always feel the need to half the frequency when there's a section closed
