Who would've thought the leader of the cannibals would make such a good relationship counselor? Rosie is a lot more chill in general than I ever would've thought. Cannibal Town is a lot more pleasant than I thought. I love how Vivienne turns our conventions on their heads. Also, "Out For Love" is such a bop.
Rosie seemed like a mother to me not only with the counseling but when Charlie was succeeding she looked proud of her like a mother in my opinion
Your everywhere
I wonder how many channels you comment on because i cant escape u lol
u rewatched hazbin so many times i guess
I mean... did you see her genuine smile in the Overlord meeting?
😬🎃👹
Iol got chill vibes from her, like actually nice and approachable as confirmed by this ep. It was what made the most sense from how Vivzie usually does things
Its great!
Adore Cannibaltown and Rosie...
And also Alastor!
Swell peeps, my favorite kind of characters honestly😁🙃
Wholesome is the perfect vibes for them, Rosie and Alistor together.
Quite the platonic power couple
Rosie is like Grandma. You come in, she asks about your day, she offers you a bunch of food, gives you sage wisdom. She makes me miss my grandma and now I kind of want to cry 🥲
Don't you mean finger food??? 😂
My grandma never did any of that stuff. I mostly felt awkward around her. 🤷🏻♀️
If Charlie visited grandma. Vaggie visited Momma. Told her her problems, asks for help, gets her ass beat, gets help regardless.
Damn, I didn't think of that at first, my grandma passed away last year, yet I still feel like it was a week ago, we were really close
Rosie does reminds me of her actually.
Also I've got to check out your videos on this serie, I'll watch all of them like I did for The Owl House ❤
Mine attempted to break down my door with her walker, stuck her fingers in my food, etc
“Just kidding. I know you’re an Ace in the hole.”
“A what now?”
I’ve rewatched that bit more times than I can count. The sound of my excited laughter at that interaction should not be possible to humans. Rosie is the Queen of Representation.
I immediately thought about how Morgan would react to this line 😂😂😂
I think the "ace in the hole" is a double entendre like alot of stuff in this show is. Ace is a hole is a poker term about having an advantage or a resource kept back until the proper opportunity presents itself.
Ace in the hole = Asexual in the closet?
@@alexworoniecki7231 Definitely a double meaning, and one that fits so well for both
Fr. Like can I adopt her as a replacement for one of my grandma's? She's so fucking supportive but also an old lady that probably smells like a thrift store along with rotten flesh.
Rosie and Alastor are literally Charlie’s cool Aunt and Uncle you can’t convince me otherwise
Except that alastor is manipulating charlie for his own gain, just like what rosie said, actions speaks louder then words
Plus, alastor hadn't said what the favor was yet on purpose
Thefavor could litterally be anything he decides for his own gain
Rosie helped charlie without anything in return, which is more selfless
I think it's not as black and white as Alastor manipulating Charlie. Every other character introduced so far has depths and contradictions: I believe Alastor genuinely likes Charlie, even if he's also using her.
@@jimballard1186 Hell, Alastor basically admits to Niftty that he likes being around the others at the hotel.
i think the favor might be getting his soul back from whoever owns him
"Literally" Yeah. No.
Alastor made it clear from the pilot that he has no good intentions.
The strange "distorted horn" sound you hear when he makes a deal and sometimes when Alastor does other things is actually the sound deer and elk make x3 their calls are really haunting and rare irl so it's super cool how it's implemented.
Oh I thought that was supposed to be radio feedback!! That’s awesome
@@ephemereaux some is feed back but the distinct rrrrahhhhhhhh that sounds vaguely like a creature is the elk noise x3
Hunters also have a horn that mimics that call to lure them out
@@tahraethestoryteller6079 Yee, it makes it very eery xD hearing it within his radio sounds when he uses his power is like he's setting a trap for anyone who makes a deal with him. They fell for his words that comforted him.
@@NachosRenard Almost like he's the "deer hunter" and he found his prey. Idk lol just a thought-
Vaggie: "I'm not used in fighting with long hair."
And then I love that after that, Carmilla *immediately* undones her hair spirals to show Vaggie how to efficiently fight with long hair. 😂 Like she was saying to Vaggie, "that's no excuse!" Slay, Carmilla. 🤣
Anyone else feel like Carmilla was one of those drill instructor ballet teachers when she was alive?
@@monomono4235 Who says dancing has no applications in other fields?
Carmilla showed us ballet can be excellent battle skills
We found the perfect relationship therapist for Blitzo & Stolas

YESSSS STOLITZ FOREVERRRR
and who is that
@@redeyesblackduelist6248 I assume Rosie is who the original commentor meant.
YES
The whole fight for love vs hate thing.
Hate and anger are blinding. You ever been in a rage and hit something only to realize the damage after? It makes you sloppy, reckless, open.
You fight for love, youre not blind. Determination, drive, calculations to minimize damage to those around you.
Neat comment 👍
Not really love blinds people alot of the times tbh
exactly what i thought when i watched that scene, it's definitely trye
In my own understanding and terms,
Miguel O’Hara is out as spider man for hate.
While Miles and later Gwen are out for love. Both for each other and for their families. And That is what makes them real heroes.
I figured Rosie would be a nice character but I didn't think she'd be sweet AND give out good relationship advice! This show continues to surprise me.
That last sentence definitely isn't foreshadowing 😂
I LOVE how Vaggie's like 'I'm not used to fighting with long hair' and Carmilla's just like 'lmao skill issue'. I do wish there were a couple more frames of her taking her hair down, because it does happen smoothly, it just happens quickly. But Carmilla, I didn't think I'd love this gorgeous Hispanic ballerina mommy so much lmao ✨ my biggest hope for S2 is that with all the talk of Charlie's potential, that she trains with Carmilla, at least a bit 🤩
frrrrrrrrr
Alastor not knowing what asexual means is both funny and sad to me as someone who took until the age of 25 to find out what it means and that I'm aroace. I love them so much for this.
luckily it doesn't seem to bother him because.. the struggle before you find out why is real.. not in my case, I was always like this, so it came more naturally to me.
@@Daesma999 Not sure what you meant by you were always like this. I was too, I just didn't have a name for it until then.
@@BoReads like the non existent urge to do anything about it. There are people who try (and fail..?) wondering why they can't figure it out. I never put much tought to it. Learning the term was more like "oh. It has a name" than some valuable thing changing my view on it or something like that.
@@Daesma999 Okay sorry that was a little confusing. I get it now.
@@BoReads no no, I can explain myself if I can. So I hope I did 😄 no worries
Charlie to Can-nibal Town: "im going to free your people"
*no reaction*
Alistor: "also free food"
*everybody cheers*
I don't think people should get mad at people for having different interpretations of Alastor's character since there's so much we still don't know... we've already seen how fond he is of Nifty. I think it's understandable for people to think that deep down he has room for growth of his own
It’s very possible! But even the most sinister of villains have a couple of soft spots, it doesn’t make them any less evil. Niffty seems like a fun distraction, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he drops her off a cliff if required.
I personally think he does have room for some growth, but I definitely don’t think he’d do a 180 and be a complete protagonist either, which I’m ok with, it’s what makes him an interesting character.
I like to interpret him as an almost Deadpool-like character. He’s got a moral compass and motivations most people don’t get, and while he can work in a team and form friendships, he’s still much more liable to go off on his own and handle things how he sees fit for what benefits him most. But that doesn’t prevent him from having soft spots for people :)
I just really don’t want him to be a complete villain that turns on everyone with no remorse
It just seems...strange, for the lack of a better word, for people to ignore the red flags and go "please Alastor be a good guy" just because he did or said a thing that made people laugh.
I dunno, between this whole season including the pilot, I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the antagonists for S2.
@@theycallmebad Alastor is a selfish character no doubt, and he definitely wants more power. However, it would feel out of character for him to become a *complete* antagonist, I’m getting more anti-hero vibes since being on Charlie’s side serves his purpose.
Especially because he shares an important philosophy with her about why he always smiles, and that’s personal. He’s not gonna tell that to just anybody because it makes him easier to read, especially if he plans to just turn on them.
I think people are just afraid of Alastor becoming a typical villain that strips away the rest of what he’s been doing.
Especially considering that’s clearly the goal with his character. With the amount of misdirection they’ve woven into his dialogue, actions, and even body language it’s pretty obvious he’s a character that’s supposed to spawn debate and discussion. It’s pretty silly of people to get genuinely mad at other people having different interpretations and theories about a character that’s intentionally shrouded in ambiguity. Like no, this is good, that’s what the writer’s WANTED y’all
Damn Rosie Is definitely my favorite overlord (besides alastor and carmilla) she was so kind to Charlie and I love how she and Alastor singing together
Rosie is the badass auntie who supports you in everything you do and i love her. And Carmilla and Vaggies duet was so good. It convinces me not every overlord is a monster. They all have bad parts, BUT. Damn if Rosie and Carmilla prove theyre real ones.
The Angel's weakness being their own weapons was hinted at when we saw Vaggie's backstory. Because she got her eye ripped out by an angelic spear showing that angels can be harmed.
It was actually a sword
@@WaltDevil060 still an angelic weapon, but yea
True! It was smart to make Lute's weapon a gold sword when everyone else has silver spears, cause I really just thought that Lute's weapon was special, or that as Adam's lieutenant she had some kind of special ability.

This season is proof Carmilla Carmine was under-used. We need more screen time from her.
Ya the more I think about this episode and even episode 3 the more I wonder if Viv was forced to throw out some episodes that bare minimum were going to explore the connection between Carmilla and Vaggie because it seemed like there was a bit of set up with their back to back song number
Hopefully that is something we’ll get in S2
Blame those cheapass fuckers at Amazon only giving Viv eight episodes to work with.
AGREED. She is by far my favorite!!
I still can't with Al in this episode he's such a dad to Charlie and his "gossip girl" banter with Rosie is so precious
I kind of interpret him more as a mentor to Charlie, since he’s a leader that’s got his act together and is giving her advice. Leader to leader tips and tricks kinda.
I like his “tough love” approach tho, in the sense that he doesn’t offer comfort through being particularly nice, but through solutions and making Charlie think. Even if he does have alternate motivations for doing so anyways, but what can ya do? Alastor gonna Alastor lol
On the recent Hazbin Live Q&A they asked Amir about a certain hashtag that's been going around on Twitter and Tumblr. Apparently someone asked him why Alastor acts so flamboyant even though he's asexual, Amir replied "You don't have to fuck to be fab," and the phrase just took off from there.
Susan reminds me of the booing woman fro The Princess Bride.
Rosie is an absolute delight and I love Carmilla even more now. Alastor's deal scares me
When Alastor says Charlie's filled with potential that he could guide, i think he will help Charlie how to use her powers in the future to help him what kind of favor he asked of her.
What I noticed is that this is the first time Charlie has been in Cannibal town. Which implies that she has never walked through her people before. She wants to help them, but she needs to understand them first.
Also: Carmella was giving BAYONETTA VIBES.
Carmilla immediately loosening her hair after Vaggie complaints about hers getting in the way was such a badass silent power play.
She'd probably roll Vaggie with her eyes closed if she said something about her missing eye.
I think both Vaggie's wings and the fact that Carmilla killed an Angel happened because they showed righteousness, sacrificing yourself or be willing to do so, is the ultimate act of love

Literal goals
"Out for love" is the non-suicidal sister of "Do it for her"
Yes!!
Pearl really needs to learn something from Carmila during that Era
17:03
"I'm not used to fighting with long hair"
"Carmilla proceeds to let her down and kick Vaggie's ass near effortlessly"
17:52-18:02 Yes it makes a difference. The difference is in mindset.
One who fights driven by hate or rage has little regard for their own life. Their sole focus is on harming the enemy. That makes them leave openings in their guard that a skilled or opportunistic foe can exploit.
One who fights for love wants to live (because they have someone to come back to). That makes them mindful of the need for a strong defence. They won't leave the same openings.
Dang it, Charlie!! Don’t agree to a deal with such vague terms. Get it in writing and get a lawyer. You’re in Hell; there’s gotta be at least 100 of them within walking distance.
I love Rosie too! She and the cannibals are strangely adorable. They walk that line between creepy and cute and it was a pleasure seeing more of them. And of course, Carmilla... uhh yeah, I've been having gay moments and she's been on my mind for hours now lol. I'm so excited to see your reaction to this and especially all of Alastor's moments lol
I get the feeling these deals are going to come back HARD. Alastor isn't pushing for soul deals but just vague deals which of themselves, are far more dangerous. He made a deal with Vaggie to never have him get involved with TV again. If Vs are bigger antagonist later, now Alastor doesn't have to help with Vox. A favor to be called later by Charlie? He could literally ask for anything because "a favor where you hurt no one-"
Meaning he might have it where Charlie CANT use her powers because it would hurt someone she doesn't like but Alastor does. Or if he does go evil later and uses the favor for a free pass, we have no idea. But now his got a ace on her.
I'm so curious how it will all play out in season two
The chaggie angst had me all the way fucked up
18:27 Angels don’t permanently lose their wings. Contrary to popular belief the halo is what determines their place. The wings don’t mean as much an angels wings can be taken or ripped off but as long as they can prove themselves worthy the wings will grow back, but once the halo is gone it’s really hard to get that back almost impossible. Depending on what the halo looks like determines their place in the hierarchy. Just a short explanation for vaggie getting her wings back
ok but the way charlie talked about vaggie's wings sounded so flirty
The reason Eggboi Frank calls Camaro Carfight (sorry, couldn’t resist, too catchy a nickname ;) ) the “Knife Lady” is because he recognized her shoes were actually knife blades when she walked into the meeting, you notice those things when you’re a short little Eggboi I guess…
It’s so sad there seems to only be one Eggboi left. They were minions done right
As someone who is small chested, the "Where ARE your tits?" Made me feel attacked lmao
I’ve been waiting my whole life to say this….
You’re the definition of “Flat Lives Matter”

ALASTORS EARS FOLDED BACK WHEN HE SAID "sigh...susan" 15:00
Funny visual bit. When Vaggie gets her wings back she has her arms and legs spreadout like when you do a snowangel.
Seems you upgraded the punching bag, prepare to use it on the finale, you'll want to, but also feel the end is justified
15:55"Susan? Susan -_-" 😂
Fun fact, before these 2 episodes dropped Viv had a QnA with Charlie and Alastor's VA's. Alastor's VA confirmed Alastor is Aroace and there was a line in ep 7 meant to have people go crazy that wasn't plot oriented. It was the Ace in the Hole one. Carmilla when her hair dropped, oh my, she is so amazing! Rosie is the supportive older female. Alastor having a voodoo doll face is freaking amazing, but I am terrified for the deal. I can see why Charlie took it, she is that desperate, but holy crap. Alastor was so cute this episode lmao.
Not all angels are assholes. Emily is a sweetheart, and I'm sure most of them are good people. It's Adam, Lute, and the Exorcists who are the assholes.
And Sera.
@@The_Game_Professorce don’t know that yet
The frootiest man that has ever frooted: Alastor
ITS WAR TIME AND WE WILL GET 2 BIGGEST PLOT TWIST IN EPISODE 8
Rosie is so much like a demonic Mary Poppins so much and I LOVE IT!
That is a great way of putting it.
She's based off Dolly from Hello Dolly. Who is a professional matchmaker. In the movie, she is played by the one and only Barbara Streisand.
i just realize something alastor will NEVER smile because he is STUCK LIKE THAT
also who the frick is susan? WHATS WITH THE BEEEF
19:40 my theory is
She's talking about herself
For example, if you're a cannibal, in society, you're f*cked
So you hide those things you don't want to be let out to the world
She probably had a husband that she could trust with secret desire, but her husband reacted different from what she expected, disgust, fear, and even angry
That's my theory, probably wrong but who knows, Rosie has been in 2 episodes and i loved her already
I see Rosie and Alastor are the very supportive uncle and aunt!!
I just love that Rosie is literally like a loving aunt to charlie so wholsome🎉
I think the out for love message is more metaphorical. If she's fighting with vengeance over protecting someone or something she's less likely to take risks or get sloppy from aggression. Calm and calculated win fights
Alastor basically baited them with free food that's Michelin star quality
😂 How else do you get cannibals to fight angels?
Amir Talai (Alastor's VA) said on twitter there'd be a not plot-driven line that would make fans loose their minds. Turns out he was referening to Rosie's "ace in the hole" line and he was so right about it 😂
we’re so starved of good representation (or much representation at all tbh) that it’s great to get such a charming, terrifying psycho
What's interesting is Alastor had the chance to make a deal for Charlie's soul, nothing would've stopped him. Yet, he went for non-violent favors instead. That's character growth.
Or clever thinking to maintain trust while guaranteeing that he'll get something out of her when the time is right
Yeah right...
The favor isn't going to be charlie harming or killing anyone alastor already said he wouldn't have her do that. Maybe he wants her to retrieve his contract from lilith and destroy it so he isn't under her thumb anymore.
Vaggie remembers getting her eye and wings cut by angelic steel, to then completely ignore the possibility that angels can be hurt.
That's weird
Well Injuring is different from killing, and she may have thought it was because she was deemed fallen at the time.
@@monomono4235That and trauma.
Rosie has such Mom vibes I love her. I am also dreading when Alastors deal with Charlie will come around and bite everyone in the ass.
I noticed that Alastor only goes to Charlie when she's emotionally vulnerable: In the pilot, he shows up after she was ridiculed and embarrassed on television, in episode 5, when she confronts her father, and in episode 7, when she's completely isolated.
Loved that bit at the beginning. I think Rosie's voice is supposed to be a reference to Barbra Streisand's character from the musical Hello Dolly.
It could also have been The Root of all Evil aka Roo, that Alastor made a deal with. We saw graffiti of her, and she is supposed to be an antagonist and is powerful. And yes, if you fight for someone you love, then you will do everything within your power to make sure you don't lose that person even it means fighting an impossible fight
Stephanie Beatriz really channeled her Rosa Diaz character when she makes Vaggie yell at the door
Alastor is most likely playing the long game as he's patiently waiting for Charlie to take her rightful place as the new ruler of hell, which he'll then cash in the favor that Charlie owes him and have her unbind him freeing Alastor from his soul contract. He'll then be just as powerful than Charlie or Lucifer, allowing him to be the one to freely pulling the strings with his full power (assuming that his soul contract restricts him from using his full power)
Yeah I also had a feeling that he’s not able to use his full power due to his deal.
Fun fact: the living tombstone makes the music in the show
Are you serious? :D that's so cool
my thoughts this episode
1) my alastor simping meter went through the roof
2) i LOVE auntie rosie!
3) all the cannibles look like theyre from the same time period, and this time perios looks like its before television, which means all they had was musical theatre as entertainment SO IT MAKES SENCE THEY WOULD LISTEN TO A MUSICAL NUMBER!!!
4) carmilla has made the list of women i aspire to be like! shes kick ass!
23:33 Just realized it's because that promise is everlastingly binding. She's more powerful than Ozzie and he is forced to uphold any contract he signs
Rosie is everything I hoped she’d be! Tears of joy.
17:59 Carmilla is telling her to fight as if protecting the ones she loves instead of fighting against the ones she hates. People die for love, less people die for hate. She’s essentially saying love brings more motivation to fight than hate does
10:57 love the way Alastor waves at Rosie.
0:01 you have no idea how accurate that was…
Love is the strongest force in the world. That motivates people to do whatever it takes to protect their people.
Yes, I didn't expect to love Rosie so much.
And this beautiful songs! Love HH final
Im glad got ger wings back. Not her old exorcist ones, but big fluffy ones
Regarding carmellas song of course fighting for those you love along with using your fear of losing them can be much more powerful than fighting simply on vengeance alone. It gives you more incentive and power to stay driven and to become more ruthless. Love can be an extremely powerful thing tied with anger.
Every new character previously seen in artwork introduced into the series: "That was not what I was expecting but I'm not complaining."
First time hearing Rosie's voice I immediately thought it was a combination of Harley Quinn and Diane Dunbrowski from Chicago party Aunt.
I have suspicion it might not be Lillith that Alistor has a deal will, rather Charlie's ex-boyfriend: Seviathan von Eldritch. The family of envy and associated with the color green...
But the stitches over his mouth... Are we in for a "Stephen-Universe-Pearl-type-deal"?!
For episode 8, could put Valentino’s, lute’s, and adam’s head on the punching bag
Rosie was so sweet in this episode .
I know its headcanon territory but I like to think if a child sinner shows up, they get sent to Cannibal Town just so they can be safe. A bunch of old timey folks with that almost Leave it to Beaver vibe? Seems like a pretty dope place for a kid. Compared to the rest of hell.
She got her wings because they weren't cut off by angelic weapons.
Carmilla's reasoning for fighting for love (as I understand it) is when you fight for people you love, you don't hold back at all. You would hold back while just fighting for the sake of it even if you don't know
Rosie is such a doll!
Vaggie literally became charlies guardian angel
I love how Niffty asks were Vaggie’s wings are and in this episode she gets her wings back
18:35 She earned her wings.
Literally.
7:30 this is his true smile. That’s why it’s so creepy because the actual reason why it looks so creepy is because when he genuinely is happy and smiles because he’s happy is what happens basically is that his face basically breaks apart
ROSIE IS SO SLAY
If you think about it, Alastor's very similar to the once Upon a time series of rumplestiltskin.
Rosie and Carmilla are definitely my favorite Overlords so far!
Regarding the next episode, to quote Charlie’s last line in Ready for This(absolute banger btw): I really hope (you are) ready for this…
Carmilla with her hair down just struck a chord in my brain, as well as being a great way to make sure she fits in frame for the dance battle for close ups a little better.

I watched episodes 7-8 And I'm shocked, there are a lot of events, it's just great 🔥
I've re-watched 8 four times already.
Im in shambles.
I think the reason that vaggie got her wings back is because she reverted back to the original job of angels to protect
At 7:32 Alastor smiled for real amd his face wasn't used for that so it started tearing apart that's why there were the green stiches because they were holding his face together
Don’t apologize dear your content is AMAZING!
I think Alistor's deal with Vaggie was more an agreement than a proper deal. His with Charlie was more of a future "i will get payment" sort of thing
Yea that’s a good way to word it
Fighting for love is different from fighting for vengeance, fighting for vengeance your blinded by rage and revenge leaving yourself open to attack, fighting for love, you’re focused on seeing your loved ones again so you’re more careful, but that’s my opinion
Yes, that's exactly what it means
