Nice video. I have been reading a book per week. In addition to dedicated time, my formula is to steal the minutes which otherwise go void or on social media. Like read for 5 mins when lunch is being served, read for 15 mins while waiting for your girlfriend, take kindle in the washroom and use those 10 mins (sounds weird but works!). If you learn to steal minutes like this, it is not difficult to read a book per week. Weekends are anyway there to get disconnected from the world and complete the book.

And very dumb actually, try to speed read Nietzsche for exemple, and if you like what your read, you don't need "speed reading" imo. Personaly reading is a real pleasure and since i've got an e-reader (so i can move with all my differents books) i read several book per month. But (and that's why i clicked, even tho the video was on my main page) it can be hard to read when you're tired. If you have trouble to focus, do some push-ups and your brain will light up. If you feel like you read too slowly, no worries. Just read, it will be easier the more you do, and the more you're into what you read (wich risk to happen if you do read). :)
Funny, I read book on my way to work and going home. Traffic is terrible at my place so I end up reading while travelling. 😇 thank you for your words of encouragement 😀
Gotta love to hear this man talk. He puts the concept in a way that's so logical. If I would be in his place I would probably end messing up the ideas so much that no one would get the information. Guess I gotta practice that. 😅
Okay Jim! You got me. Each time I try to look at another positive video, there's your ad, and I am still watching the whole ad, which is something I usually don't do.
The problem with reading a book in a week is that ....like Jim said its decades of research and understanding that goes in a book. Trying to download it in a week is not going to happen. You should give it time so that the concepts that the author tries to explain sinks in. Humans develop any skill through repetition. So trying to learn everything in a week wont generate enough repetition for your brain to drill it down to your subconscious. That is the exact reason why many people even though after reading several self help books dont see any change because the concept was never drilled down to their subconscious. You need to let the ideas sink this happens only when u read slow and try to digest every idea that is put forward.
Reading is your superpower because readers will always be a leader in life and in everything they do. Thank you so much for this powerful video you shared.
How to do this when u r a busy collage student .. Cause i get sick of reading (studying) my books so obviously not become motivated to read other books 😷 😖
You could try audiobooks, I find them easier to get through when I'm tired (and listen to them at 1.5x-3x speed if you want to get through them quickly).
@@StaticDreamsEntert Your statement is not completely true. There are many people who have generational wealth and along with that comes generational influence. This means that there is a percentage of people on the top not because they worked hard but because the wealth was passed down to them. Smart people all know that an ivy league education can be bought. Sometimes it's not about a person's personal qualities but about their circumstances.

If you are reading books to gain "knowledge" only then it becomes a task. It won't last long and eventually you will give up. Start enjoying reading to read books. No to accomplish a task! And if you still cant' then just drop it and do something else. Simple.
You can get in 1-2 books per week if you have a long commute and listen to books on Audible. I've already finished one book just from my time in the car the last 4 days. Plus, there's the added bonus of adding in exercise which primes you for deep learning while you're listening to the Audio Book.
I was reading two books per week but was not helping me at all..., Then i realised i was reading fiction books & i was supposed to read non fictions... Jokes apart, thanks for sharing.
Read what you enjoy. If you're forcing yourself to read nonfiction just because you feel that you have to, then that won't do you any good either. Step outside your comfort zone, but don't torture yourself

Thanks so much for breaking down the numbers like that. I was so frustrated 😅 I set what I thought was an impossible goal for myself: to read 50 books this year. But with the formula you provided, I’d have to read for about 45 minutes per day. That’s not bad at all! 🖤

I don't have to schedule my reading, because I'm drawn to do it one way or another. I am a bit sporadic, but I get a lot out of my reading time. I often switch back and forth between two books, finishing them both around the same time and by being under two influences at once I often make interesting cross-connections between the two books. For example, try reading The Continuum Concept and Childhood Interrupted in the same month, reading some from one book, then some from the other. I also find it important to NEVER speed-read or skim. Immersing myself in the book is critical for me to remember what I've read and understand it fully. (This may be because I'm an INFJ, HSP, for any geeks reading this who knows what that means.) Thanks Jim for the video, I love your inspirational tone and your no-nonsense approach.
Thank you for this video! I do have a question if you or someone can answer this: What type of things are good to read?! Im not much of a reader so not sure where to start?! Theres so much out there!
I think this type of reading would work if we want to read just for the sake of creating a record. But what if we want to read for the sake of learning new concepts/subjects which requires considerably long amount of time, then it would be very difficult to read a book every week. Also the main intention in reading a book is to apply it's teachings in our lives and it would be overburdening to apply all the ideas from every book we read every week.
I always read the book but then supplement that with reading an analysis of it. That way I can completely understand it and pick up on things I might have missed.
The key to reading a book a week (or faster) is to have a great book! Try The Last Disciple by James Holmes. It is an incredible combo of action, romance, horror, and suspense! Can't wait for the sequel!!
dude, it's not about how much books I can read it's about how much I can memorize reading is not difficult but understands and memorize is the real challenge
Yeah, that is what I was thinking. If you have any problem in life especially numerical, if you can sit down for 5 minutes and think around a solution and do the math you will easily find a plan. Just like this, seeing a 300 page book seems hard, but doing the math and making a plan by no. of pages/time makes it look more manageable and possible.
I can read 250 words per minute but it's hard to maintain that rate for 45 minutes whilst taking the time to pause and grasp the content of the book, do you have any comments on that? Would love to get some people's view on how they do it.
How many books do you currently get through in a week?

Like read for 5 mins when lunch is being served, read for 15 mins while waiting for your girlfriend, take kindle in the washroom and use those 10 mins (sounds weird but works!). If you learn to steal minutes like this, it is not difficult to read a book per week. Weekends are anyway there to get disconnected from the world and complete the book.
Great idea

I sometimes can't believe this Video changed a part of my life. I am just 15 years old, but since one year I love reading, to get information and to gain knowledge. Thanks Jim!
I read about 20 books a year. And I read it thoroughly. Making notes, highlighting and ruminating about the books that I've read.
Reading is good. You can read a whole library but if you're not practicing or applying what you know is just nothing.
You're unlikely to read that much and never apply any of it, in my experience. If you didn't apply anything, then you must not have learned anything. True learning changes who you are inside, and then your behaviors start to shift automatically. Even my speech patterns and vocabulary are dramatically altered by what I've been reading lately.
Good comment
Who wants to help me with English?

2:03 Schedule your Reading Time, when Awake ( day time). - Jim Kwik
Leaders are Readers.
Knowledge is (potential) Power.
Reading is Superpower. Read one book, per week.
[ Reading Speed will increase automatically.
By Vertical Reading (first try it, on newspaper or, for casual reading), Reading Speed can be increased.
Share what new acquired through Books, with your friends. In this way, You can remember it.]
Love that you point out that reading is a form of self care and should be prioritized with a schedule.
Thx Jim! I went from 120 wpm to 315 wpm by watching your videos. God saved me from dying from cancer 2x and I promised him ultra fitness and to learn math all the way to math 55 reading speed of 600 wpm and to train till I can bench press 250 squat 500 do 100 pushups/situps 20 pullups run a 6min mile for Jesus for leading me to you! I lost my speech to cancer but God is restoring it. God loves us so much. My atheist doctor was like wow man this is a miracle. She believes in God now. I'm going to watch all you videos. I want to be super intelligent for God. I want to speed read several books and the Bible for God. Roman's 10:9-10!
Saw this as an ad and just had to find the actual video to give you a thumbs up. I absolutely love this concept and sincerely hope it encourages more people to read. It’s my favorite pastime and I want others to discover the same joy I find in reading💕
"Leaders are readers, if knowledge is power, reading is your superpower" Jim Kwik.
You are so right about the last part: never really enjoyed reading to sleep, you have to be alert to digest what you are reading. Great video!
One thing I do is to read or learn languages on my train commutes. If you calculate train commutes, it's like having this time in a classroom. However, the classroom is what and where you make of it. It can be almost anywhere. Thank you very much!
Very logical
Great Video clip! Apologies for butting in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Millawdon Future Ticket Trick (search on google)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for teaching children to read minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my work buddy at last got cool results with it.
& Why so many like on this bullshit comment thats the universe wana know.
Not logic
Mm yeah.
Best line sir
They takes decades to make a book and we take days to take that decades of knowledge
💯💯💯
Thank you for this 👌🙋
Funny, I read book on my way to work and going home. Traffic is terrible at my place so I end up reading while travelling. 😇 thank you for your words of encouragement 😀

Great book!! I loved it. Listened to the audiobook version.
@Karan By the way I have finished the book...☺️
I love that quote :- Self-Love And Self-Care is Not Selfishness 😊😊😊
Love to hear this! ✨
Gotta love to hear this man talk. He puts the concept in a way that's so logical. If I would be in his place I would probably end messing up the ideas so much that no one would get the information. Guess I gotta practice that. 😅
My goal to read the whole bible this coming year
me too!
January TM its all lies bruh
January TM congrats
Watch JP Peterson bibilical interpretation instead . Save you a lot of time and unnecessary complication
Were you able to read the whole bible?
My *Questions* after this video.
How can I *understand* what I read. When I understand it, I remember it and use it. 😊
Jame's notes 👍
Pick up a book which is content 7 pages , read one page daily.
Wow! You did it.
Great 👍
Okay Jim! You got me. Each time I try to look at another positive video, there's your ad, and I am still watching the whole ad, which is something I usually don't do.
Knowledge!
Spot on totally agree Discipline, discipline and discipline
Great tip.
How to do this when u r a busy collage student .. Cause i get sick of reading (studying) my books so obviously not become motivated to read other books 😷 😖
Lulu Lulu I enjoy reading books and I hated school. Just try it out. Reading in your free time is different than schoolwork.
Lulu Lulu, u might read at yr commute time or at the time u feel alone and think shitty.
You could try audiobooks, I find them easier to get through when I'm tired (and listen to them at 1.5x-3x speed if you want to get through them quickly).
Idk I'm feeling so frustrated ,depressed and out of energy😵
Thank u guys for ur replies..
Thank you for the tips! Scheduling a time just to calmly read will help productivity and ease the stresses in our life and live full out.
This is the Teacher we need....
The average CEO reads 4 to 6 books a month because they sit in their offices everyday reading while everyone else is slaving away!
They also slaved themselves aways , worse than their employees at first😃
Joe T
Damn you suck.
How’d you think they got to the top? They just sat in offices all day their entire career?
Fix your stupidity.
Joe T
😂
@@StaticDreamsEntert Your statement is not completely true. There are many people who have generational wealth and along with that comes generational influence. This means that there is a percentage of people on the top not because they worked hard but because the wealth was passed down to them. Smart people all know that an ivy league education can be bought. Sometimes it's not about a person's personal qualities but about their circumstances.
@@heyheyhey40 i started from nothing to something... books helped me a lot.. if u have no time to read, just try to read 1book a month or if u cant finish it in 1month, finish it in 2mnths or 3mnths.. what important is u read a book...
then if u are progressing, try to read some more until u become the boss.. if u become the boss, u have all the time to read
If you are reading books to gain "knowledge" only then it becomes a task. It won't last long and eventually you will give up. Start enjoying reading to read books. No to accomplish a task! And if you still cant' then just drop it and do something else. Simple.
Decades of Knowledge in Days, that just changed my world.
You can get in 1-2 books per week if you have a long commute and listen to books on Audible. I've already finished one book just from my time in the car the last 4 days. Plus, there's the added bonus of adding in exercise which primes you for deep learning while you're listening to the Audio Book.
I was reading two books per week but was not helping me at all...,
Then i realised i was reading fiction books & i was supposed to read non fictions...
Jokes apart, thanks for sharing.
You're playing dumb?

Read what you enjoy. If you're forcing yourself to read nonfiction just because you feel that you have to, then that won't do you any good either. Step outside your comfort zone, but don't torture yourself
What books do you recommend?
What kind of books would you like to read?
All William Shakespear books, I love them !
Try to read Pascal, Foucault, Nietzsch,Sören Kierkegaardn,Platon and Marquis de Sade those are fun books !
Personal Development book and financial freedom books

Glad Sir you are adding value to our Society...
Thank you so much ❤️
I appreciate this video. Concise with one good tip of advice and a call to action.
How ironic - his name has “Kwik” in it.
Jocko Willink: Want to read one book a week? Read one book a week.
One thing I learned was if you read what interest you or enjoy you are a lot more likely to read then reading for readings sake alone .
This is how I know my focus is off. I’m like “wow, I wonder if I can spin a book like that?” 😩
him: how do you read one book a week
me: oh thats easy i read the whole selection series in one week

I'm sure he's using a Kwik-reading method... sorry

Great video bro!! Needed that! Now I will commit! 2o minutes in the morning, 2o minutes in the afternoon and 5 more minutes before bed.
This guys has such a great spirit
LOOL I usually read a book a day and now I'm OBSESSED
I saw many comments saying that it’s very difficult to read a book per weak and understand the story. And for that i say : It depends on the person! For example in this quarentine i have read 13 books and i read many of them in one only week) and i have learn many things without the help of any notes and i still remember of everything. If you have motivation and love to read it’s not difficult! If you keep reading and reading you won’t feel the need to make any notes because your brain is already used to it. that's why they say that reading is good for your memory and brain. It’s not impossible! :)
readers live more than one life because they learn from everyone
Thanks so much for breaking down the numbers like that. I was so frustrated 😅 I set what I thought was an impossible goal for myself: to read 50 books this year. But with the formula you provided, I’d have to read for about 45 minutes per day. That’s not bad at all! 🖤
My first video of you. I realy like your language, your way of speaking and giving information, the colours and the editing of the video . You have got a subscriber.

I love that there's such a plan for this... So doable!
Infinite health n blessings to u n all ur luved ones
This is great, it's all about consistency and schedule. I'm grateful for this. Will put it into practice
When I saw your past life on an Indian UA-camr channel then I am inspired to you because I am also a negative thinker but I am trying to throw it.
Thank You Mr. Kwik. It was helpful and video was worth my time♥️😁
Thank you for this video!
Also the main intention in reading a book is to apply it's teachings in our lives and it would be overburdening to apply all the ideas from every book we read every week.
hello sir I was reading your book limitless. I wanted to finish it in one week.then I saw this video what a coincidence.
Really helpful video 👍🏼
Thankyou so much for sharing 💐
The best is learning by doing. and you will get knowledge by what you ever did. and that is never forget.
Very good technique of reading a book in a week. Thanks 😊😊👍
I always read the book but then supplement that with reading an analysis of it. That way I can completely understand it and pick up on things I might have missed.
My idea of reading books is to not to get all in it but to just grasp a single idea per book which I can use.
@Mr. 8-Bit Doggo influenced somewhat from Napolean Hill.
Jim has the charisma of a rockstar!
Leaders are Readers. Knowledge is Power, Reading is superpower.
Thanks for the break down. I am reading No Excuses by Brian Tracy and he suggests 1 hour per day. Makes perfect sense.
The key to reading a book a week (or faster) is to have a great book! Try The Last Disciple by James Holmes. It is an incredible combo of action, romance, horror, and suspense! Can't wait for the sequel!!
dude, it's not about how much books I can read
it's about how much I can memorize
reading is not difficult but understands and memorize is the real challenge
Yeah, that is what I was thinking. If you have any problem in life especially numerical, if you can sit down for 5 minutes and think around a solution and do the math you will easily find a plan. Just like this, seeing a 300 page book seems hard, but doing the math and making a plan by no. of pages/time makes it look more manageable and possible.
this was my first ad video i didn't skip..!!
Thank you sir, I felt motivated to read a book.
Thank you for the video. Currently applying this technique. Yes!
I can read 250 words per minute but it's hard to maintain that rate for 45 minutes whilst taking the time to pause and grasp the content of the book, do you have any comments on that? Would love to get some people's view on how they do it.
Today I'm try to find way to read more and more until it becomes habit
And I found it
Thank you for sharing this information 👍
