I am enjoying watching your video and learning a lot about vintage and pattern adjustments. You explain the process very clear and concise. Thank you so much for sharing.
love this scarf! So unique to today's RTW accessories. Am going to make one! Thanks lots! I see you have a new machine! The free arm, most often missing on the vintage machines, really comes in handy.
Thanks for the comment, KJ :D I'm actually so surprised and happy about how much this hood comes in handy; I've used it so much since I've made it! As for the machine, I've actually had it for a little while (I think it appears in some reeeeeaaallllly old videos)-- but I absolutely agree that it comes in handy! I only really pull it out if I know I'm working on a project that my vintage machine just isn't able to do (longer stitches, the free arm, if I'm working on something super delicate, etc.)
Hi I love this head scarf and the fabric you made it in , I’m going to be trying this for sure , I also love your the vintage look you have really suits you x
Hope you had a great weekend as well :D! And yey for the cat! People really like her but she just likes the steal the spotlight and get in all the shots hahaha
Thanks! Pattern weights are from Rachel from Rach Against the Sewing Machine. She sells them via her IG on demand :) Definitely reach out to her and I'm sure she'll hook it up!
Oh nooo! Please reach out to bianca@vintageontap.com and I'll go ahead and send you over an attachment with it. Sorry to hear it didn't work- I'm going to have to investigate it 😥
The hood pieces were cut slightly at the bias (so not 45* angle to the grain, maybe 20* or so)-- could work on a straight grain, though. I definitely wouldn't make this on the full bias as it would stretch way too much.
6 years later and i still love this project of yours ❤
You do a really good REAL job teaching. It is like we are in the room with you. This teaching style is a winner!!! Thank you so much!!
A great accessory for wearing to vintage car shows!

what grain did you cut the hood on, I'm slightly confused by the pattern

+Vintage on Tap thank you so much, I'll keep that in mind for when I have my hands on the fabric again!
Buy yourself a little more time by cutting through some tin foil before replacing the cutting wheel
