Oh, I so appreciate your honesty about farming/being a farmer. So many have misled others about the “farming” or self sustaining homesteading lifestyle. Most have to have other resources and another source of income. I wish more people were more honest and transparent. Most of the time people are not calculating the real costs of what they are producing. AgainThank you for your honest and not misleading others.
Thank you so much for your "rant" about doing things slowly. I recently found your channel, I loved guinea pigs as pets growing up. Talking about doing things slowly, allowing for more slow and thoughtful decisions is a perspective I really needed to hear. Cheers to a fellow land lover
I have a small herd of guinea pigs as pets. I take in surrenders and rescues. I have a saying about them. My guinea pigs feed my garden and my garden feeds my guinea pigs. I really enjoyed the beauty of your land.
I appreciate your transparency regarding making a living. There are many UA-camrs who claim to be making a great living at whatever, homesteading, hand crafts, and the like. I often wonder if they are being honest about it.
You are connecting with people across the pond that you may not realize is important. I actually like how you are sharing insights and truths about your permaculture farmstead while doing your chores. I listen, half-watch while I do my own chores! Lol! Anyway, I just really relate to y’all and appreciate your style and the content of your videos. Fellow Guinea pig, duck, worm and compost lovers here too!
You my friend are what I am beginning to term; a “servant of Mother Nature” the resources you gain from your observation of nature gives you a innate sense of servitude to feel coexistence with the land. And it’s thrilling honestly!! 😅 not sure if that conveys right but just wanted to let you know that regardless of what any human can say, you will always look around what you are working on and Mother Nature is clearly hollering back at you with grace and gratitude from the beautiful view I see brother! Thanks for sharing your morning with us! 🤙
I loved your duck operation and system, I hate to see you so disappointed. Try raising MUSCOVY DUCKS for meat and selling them to a niche market, Guyanese, Trinidadian, and Russian. They can't get enough of this product. Good luck. I love your farm.
You can cross a Muscovy duck on a Pekin Drake and they get huge. The muscovies are nice prone to go Brody as well they didn't quack and neither so Drakes really. So it's kinda a win win win.
@@parccarregyou may be able to run the Muscovy in the orchard with the GPigs to eat bugs. They are very protective of the babies and they are too large for most birds of prey. An LGD would do well with them as well.
You make me wish I was you g again! I live in a huge city, am a semi-retired mental health pro and I have spent the last hour watching your videos. (Of course, I am in the US and suffering from major political losses right now.)
Thanks. Although I come across relaxed in this video, I should say that there are plenty of days where I am much less upbeat! Money can be a big stress for us
Try snapping your fingers before and during the application of nee feed or treats. I do this for cow's, goats, ducks and chickens. Each gets it's own tune.

This is a great comment! I was wearing those headphones with the mic on them right next to my face. So you could hear my breathing very closely. Haha, you are right - I wasn't being conscious of my breath even though I know better! Thanks for pointing it out Alex. Nice to hear from you and hope you are well
Question from an ignorant American here: are those toads native species? My only knowledge about toads in Australia is that they are a highly invasive & destructive species. Thanks!

After watching your video I can’t help but think your putting more time and effort into care and upkeep on the GuineaPigs than just mowing the lanes!
This is so true, people think guinea pigs will be easy but it’s honestly easier just to repair the lawnmower 😂

Thanks so much for the message. It's so cool that we can connect with so many other like minded people! Thanks for watching and the feedback
Awesome. Congratulations on the job it fits right into your life
Great video - made me feel so relaxed watching you:)
I thought your insights were very helpful. Thank you 😊
I love your comments about doing things slowly!
Actually a great idea! Although the pen will be hard to move in such tall grass

@@NorthFLWormWorks Wow, thanks for the comment! Really appreciate it :)
Great work. Am just composting poop from the neighbors guinea pig with my worms. My main crop is yacon (Smallanthus sonchifolius).
nice!

Thanks, we hope to one day raise ducks for meat. Muscovy would be great to try some time
@@horseblinderson4747sounds like a winning combination.

Very enjoyable update
Gardeners would pay for your compost and dried shredded or baled mulch. I pay a lot of money for those products at our local hardware/garden store.
All the way - enjoyed your tea. 😊
Im really enjoying following your experiment. What do you do with the "extra" guinea pigs?
At this point there are no "extras"! We need all we can get. We would eat or sell any surplus though
Wow, those things are cute man!
Too cute!
Great information! Thank you!
That's a wonderful way to live, where there's no stress at all while chasing after money.

Will the guinea pigs grow to the size of Peruvian Cuy? Are they a special breed?
No, they are not the proper meat breed. But we hope to breed them up in size over the years

Watch how you put your rake... always put rake side up else it's a nasty accident waiting to happen.

Is that what a welsh accent sounds like? Sounds similar to south african to my american ear
Love it
Really silly question, could you put the Guinea Pig run in with the barley?
