I’ve always loved the IS/Altezza; it’s a nice build but rather funny they added so much extra work to put a V8 in it when they could have just used the 2jz out of the Supra and had WAY more power. Of course, up until pretty recently most Americans definitely would have thought, “V8 better” even though the NA 4.3L 8 they dropped in would be a pain to take up to the HP pretty easily attained by the 1 or 2jz out of the box. Pretty funny to see what cars were at SEMA back then; I’m thinking early 2000s but not sure.

Were the 2JZ engines in high demand back when this was filmed? I know the Fast and Furious attracted a lot of idiots into the car community.
