- Oprah Reveals Why She Never Married Stedman. Stedman Graham have been together since 1986, this is much longer then the standard hollywood union, yet the pair has never walked down the aisle, despite getting engaged a few years into the relationship. Instead, they found their own groove and forged a bond which works for them, even though it can appear strange to outsiders...and involve a whole lot of Gayle King.
In fact, it feels like their main problem is household members who like to talk to the tabloids or shop book deals concerning the intensely private bunch. With family like that, who can blame Oprah and Stedman for maintaining their inner circle tight? But that still has not stopped some odd things about their relationship. I think two women can be the best of friends without it being a gay relationship. I met a women in a fitness class a few years ago who was experiencing something similar to me. We connected on that. Then we discovered he had so many other things in common that it was uncanny. We got along so well as if we were sisters. So we began to chat and hang out often. She became my very best friend. Both of us are 100% straight. I think people need to get their minds out of the gutter.

Marriage in western society is a contractual agreement, where a woman (who has no rights) is given away by her Father (who according to the patriarchal religious traditions, owns her) to another man, who, according to tradition, has to ask her Father for her hand in marriage. A relationship based on love and respect needs only for two people to choose to be together. Make it ‘legal’ if you wish, but the institute of marriage does not help woman have an equal place in society. That’s my opinion. I had 26 years in a relationship, 4 children and we remained friends when we decided to separate.

Staying in a relationship without a marriage isn't so bad she had so much going on in life she is famous and rich at least they stayed close 27 years now .A marriage is a piece of paper with names on it changing a maiden name to husband's last name.I say do what works for you not a family member or a best friend.

I can see the same connection I had with my bestfriend who recently passed away in Oprah and Gail's friendship.and there's nothing to be suspecious about that.in life you are lucky whenyoufind that special connection to someone who isn't your significant other,because they support you all the way and just love you without judging the real you,it's pure and in my case it just felt once in a lifetime

Hi Oprah, there have been a couple of major/minor developments in my life this week. First the good news, I went to Target to shop this week and they had applications out for work. I have previously worked for Target from 1998-2009 at a distribution center as a warehouse Worker. This Target store seems to be very interested in me working for them doing the same type of work @ 15.00/hr. I’m extremely happy for this opportunity. I’ll follow up with details as they unfold. Second, I met a woman on FB dating app and she agreed to go to the movies with me tomorrow, so I went and bought the tickets a few days ago. However, she got cold feet and cancelled on me today…I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Anyways, now I’m taking John and we’ll spend some alone time together hopefully we can talk about stuff. Beautiful couple. I think Mr. Graham is a very private man. He'scalso a very good author and leader. Like Oprah he's brilliant! A real power couple in that sense. I trully believe they love each other deeply when I saw the moment at an award show where Oprah was honoured for her humanitarean work. His reaction when Oprah thanked him for loving her was really moving. The rumours are just it - rumours and nothing else. Who cares? If you're happy in your home you don't give a damn about what happens in other people's relationships. Lots of unhappy people here.

It's a shame folk label close female friends as being gay. This happen to me and my best friend who was more like a sister to me. I got very angry when I heard that rumor and it took my mother, sitting us both down and saying this is nothing new. Folks have been saying that about close girlfriends for ever. She said don't let anything or anyone come between our friendship. For us to love each other and for us to have each others back always. That what we had was rare and people would always be jealous of our bond.. We did just that. I loved her and she loved me until the day she passed away. I have never had a girlfriend and sister like her since. We were closer than our own blood sisters, and I will miss her until the day I pass over. I understand Gayle and Oprah's friendship because I was blessed to have that relationship with my best friend also!*

I know what your talking about. I had a best friend since I was nine, and she was seven. We literally made mud pies to gether. We went through life talking, crying, laughing, going crazy, being hurt, rejoicing, disappointed, confused together, and making discoveries about life. We had our first babies, and last babies the same year. We had our ups, and downs, and talked everything out. We became nurses. We became senior citizens. We talked so much, we were ashamed of ourselves, and very proud of ourselves if we managed to hold some information back.
Three years ago she died. She had cancer, and didn't make it. One morning I woke up, and told God I just want to talk to her. So many things happen during the course of the day, or week, that I say, I would call her about this. She was a sister to me. I heard the filthy rumors too. But God is my witness we were just close friends. Bonded through confiding everything to each other. You don't get a "heart bonded" friend everyday. We both got saved, and I hope to see her again one day. I hope she made it in, and I hope to do the same. That's something else we will talk about. I know if it was possible that she could call me she would. No spooky stuff. No seances and all that mess. I'm talking about blowing up the phone, AT&T style, and that's bad enough.

We both lost our mothers in 1981. My mother passed in February and hers in March. Needless to say. We was holding on to God's unchanging hand and each other. Her mom was older but my mom was just 59yrs old!*
