- Tata Motors is set to launch its most anticipated mid-size SUV, the Curvv on August 7. It gets both EV and ICE powertrain options with the electric version launching first. As seen before at the Auto Expo in 2020 and the Bharat Mobility Expo, Tata Motors has stayed true to its design and not much has changed from the concept shown to now the production-ready car. The EV variant gets full-width LEDs at the front and rear, and 18-inch wheels while the power figures are unknown. The ICE Curvv also gets a full-width LED light bar at the rear, and 18-inch wheels. What we know is that it will get the new 3-cyl, turbo-petrol engine, expected to make 125bhp and 225Nm. At the interiors, the top variant of the Curvv will get a fully digital cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen as well. Ed Sirish Chandran gives you a detailed walkaround of both the Curvv and Curvv EV at the Tata Motors Design Center in the UK. He also speaks to Vivek Srivatsa, chief commercial officer at Tata Motors about the Tata Curvv. Martin Ulharik, global design head for Tata Motors tells us about his top 5 design features.

Rear looks arr amazing..Front looks slightly compromised in length..the tyres and body gap is evident ..not sure if that to up the ground clearance..looks bit odd
It's a weird looking car and there seems to be too much going on. They need to simplify and deKarolBagh it and then it would be quite classy.
The cladding above the wheels is too big. And makes the wheels look small.

I wouldn't go for other brands when I have Indian brands offering the best products. I hear some are complaining after sales service, I'm sure Tata is working on it.
Stunning looks, big brother of Tigor. But the service centre folks would screw it and would create special issues. Can’t go with only looks. The service should improve and their skills should be upgraded.

Tbh ... The design looks really amazing .... Imagine, this type of design you get in highend luxury cars worth 70 lakhs .... No other companies even dared to make such beautiful and good looking coupe in a budget segment but tata ... You nailed with the design ... Hats off to the tata team and I guess people should appreciate such good looking car ..... Cuz when u see other cars ... They are boxy .. looks the same .. ditto with the headlight different and all that but tata made a new looking car .. which looks fab.

Engine can be a problem for Tata. Mahindra has an edge over Tata on Engines. They have good engines. Tata should work on Customer service and overall quality of the vehicles. Every time you cant escalate your issue on social media.

Exterior all good, but please check for dedicated Tata service centers before buyiny, which is none BTW. We bought a Nexon, rust started to form through whole Al body frame within 2 years. When complained not much response!
Tata must consider after market sales service, before they launch something new.

there's no argument that this is the best looking car in the market. Its thoughtfully designed, makes it a unique and beautiful car in the segment. There's no denying that this is the best from tata till date if they launch at a very competitive price.

why they are not providing the 1.5 liter 4 cylinder petrol engine

1.2L petrol is no comparison for creta and likewise Compact SUV. It can't even beat xuv 3xo 1.2 TGDI.
Despite sexy looks, unfortunately tata has missed a huge opportunity by not giving 1.5L petrol. Harrier and safari are too heavy for 1.5L petrol, they will also fail again any SUV in the market. Such a shame.
If it comes with 1.5L 4 Cyl Diesel engine, I am buying it. Not falling for the 3 cyl petrol for this price range.
I think they intentionally used this 1.2 unit so that they can price it aggressively l. It should be priced around 10-18 ex-showroom. Around 3 lakhs more than the nexon.

An amazingly crafted design, and reminds me of the BMW X6 Coupe. There is no such car currently available in the Indian market. This would be the first car of its kind. The market is definitely going to change after the launch of this vehicle. Not many Indians have driven coupe-style cars, so I'm also looking forward to the reviews.

TATA & MAHINDRA are running neck to neck in EV segment. Hopefully both provide LFP battery technology and not NMC. Although MAHINDRA's upcoming EV's are getting the battery technology from Volkswagen. But the design is awesome the ICE version might get many options as now TATA has DCA transmission. 💯🤘🏻
Its good to see Indian manufacturers giving us multiple options to choose from.
Everything from the Radical looks, 5* in NCAP, heavy PR content around the product wouldn't help me consider the car as an option until I have full confidence in Tata service. That I am 100% sure if something goes wrong they will fix it. Until that happens I will enjoy all the content and not put my money on their products.
Verdict 👉 Full marks to #TataMotors for being brave. Going against convention. Trying something new. In a sea of same-same this will turn heads. Respect ✊️

Isn't it the same with every brand? Venue, Creta, Exter, Alcazar have same front profile. XUV 700 and XUV 300 looks the same. Honda City and Amaze looks the same. I don't even want to talk about Toyota and Suzuki who just change the name of car.

1:15 I don’t like the side rising line. I wish it were more flatter. Nexon has the same line even worse. That makes it looks like a big hatch rather than than a small SUV
Also, coupe SUV is a very difficult design to crack. Only X6, GLC coupe look nice every other looks bit weird one angle or the other. PS: Mahindra BE05 also looks good.
Basalt is also coming in the market though...tata need to be more aggressive in terms of pricing

The gap in wheel arches may help if you load it up to the brim. Or else it might bottom out. And it seems it can soak up bumbs very well. So it should be a compromise for practicality over design. The alloy wheels in ICE could be designed better. Did not like the flower kind of design. Apart from that, full marks for the design and build quality. Tata might have a competition when Mahindra's SUV-Coupe comes out.

Its a beautiful design except for the tyres which seem undersized. The ev colour blue is beautiful too! I am waiting for it to launch and I might prefer it over creta.

A very bad car company
The bonnet and rear side doesn't seem seamless. It feels like just putting a coupe design on Nexon. Also, alloys' design doesn't suit with the body design. So, the front, back and wheels don't come up as a one proper design unit. They all feel different units put together.
In all these videos at the design studio, why the designers were still working on concept level digital sketch when the launch date is just 1-2 week from the day they visited the studio

Looks good, but I think all will depend on the real size of it... If its not big enough , it will be just like a sub4m sedan with a sloping roof. I felt Basalt 's rear felt like that only, (like old desire, seeing Basalt every time going to Thiruvallur with out any covering) if so will not be good.
Though I love the design, if the length increased by a foot , all others proportioned..with slight broader&talller rear windows.. would have killed competition completely..
Looks way better and premium than the overhyped crossovers we have in the same price bracket.
Martin Ulharik deserves a praise 🫡for such a great design. Rest i hope there's no such issues in production spec versions.

I honestly think ICE version looks alot more butch than EV version and I like it. The rear obviously has been 'inspired' by the Urus and Tata designers have nailed it. It looks Fab. What I don't like though are wheel arches, not only do they make it look undertyred, but why gloss finish? Those areas are the first to get scuffed in traffic or anywhere else. While the GDi engine may debut on the Curvv, It would be quite difficult to get close to Creta, let alone dethrone it. I personally am not a huge fan of the Creta, but it honestly good and the sales numbers show that. Curvv is much narrower both inside-out IIRC and also unless the wheelbase is stretched, it can't match the legroom. Creta also aces in 'features' dept, so there's that. Do I think Curvv will do well? In simple words, yes! But Creta has been a bestseller for ages. It makes you feel you are in a premium vehicle, Indians clearly love it! But Curvv can deal a fair blow I think, but can that do it every month consistently? I have my doubts about that.

Those piano black exterior paint is going to be a pain to maintain 😂 all car companies should avoid piano black whether it's exterior or interior. Before launching this sort out the service station and sales people. You can get all the foreigners to pump videos but at the end some panwadi sales guy is going to deal with you.

For a car of this design element, it only match with big sized wheels and tyres. Tata should not sell this car along with low variant tiny wheels and skinny tyres, i own altroz, but i do get throw ups sometimes whenever i see entry level altroz with skinny wheels and tyres.

Is it just me or does the front end looks like a Harrier shrunken after a wash. While the family look is okay, there should've been more differentiating elements between this and the Harrier.

Big chunky car with chicken leg tyres and tiny puny wheels. Designers at tata have no idea of proportions. And the worst part is, they made the wheel arches so that upgraded wheels and tyres would most definitely scrape the body.

Tbh, I didnt like the front or rear. side view is fine. Rear is far better than that boxy front though. It is not a full fledged SUV and doesnt look aero dynamic
