You guys are doing a great job building your home and doing it not just for a project for your UA-cam channel . not just throwing it together to sell it and move on to another cabin building. I’m glad that the camera is not always just focused on the wife’s butt to draw in male viewers and that you really have great content to film. Keep up the the good videos , they are very interesting to watch , not just posting to get the male viewers we female viewers and families like to watch videos together. ❤️😊❤️
Its fun going back and seeing the house go up. Each episode in present time moves it closer to being complete.
LOOKIN GOOD!...thanks 4 video. be kind.

HELLO. GREETINGS. LOOKIN. GREAT. TAKE A. BOW. YOU. BOTH ARE. ON. YOUR. WAY.
Another BC Bushhwhacker here. First time I’ve seen someone use a leaf blower to move water. Great ingenuity!
From India 😉👍✌️
From south carolina
I see we’re crowning all 2*6 studs and not so worried about rain and most importantly a little help to stand the walls GREAT JOB you two crazy kids lol
from Langley, BC as always with Love and hugs
Watching the progress from SE Kansas.
It’s nice to see BC getting some rain!!
We have had a lot of rain! The campfire band was lifted yesterday
Saturday mornings with Greg and Katie has become my routine. Great to see the progress - walls!!

When it stops rIn find the center of each puddle of water on the floor n drill a 3/8" hole in the floor it will help drain the floor n they can be plugged later when the building is dried in k
Yes, we ended up doing that
@@ThisOffGridLife cool n you guys are doing awesome especially working through all the rain n stormy weather keep up the good work
Cool suggestion I would never thought of that. Just me out there constantly using a push broom
@@markloechner9409 make sure there is nothing stored underneath that you want to keep dry!
Great job Guys just great
The Netherlands. Respect to the two of you. Looks like almost nothing will stop you. Do hope it put the fires down.
we have had a lot of rain since. the campfire ban was lifted and we are allowed to have small campfires again
@@ThisOffGridLife Glad to hear that.
Nothing can stop you now!!! Rain, lightening, more rain! Great job you two!!!
The lightening did stop us 😂 coming up in the next video
Doing good guys!
With just three walls up it is starting to take shape. Not easy working in the rain so well done,
I'm in Liverpool. U.K. I love watching you guys. If I was either of your mothers I would be so very proud of you. Which I'm positive they are.
They are 😊
This Momma is super proud and by her comments I know Debbie is too. I'm so grateful that Greg and Katie are giving the world some positive distractions. It was hard to leave our 2 week vacation but - yes to proud. My heart remains with them.
Good to see the wall raising crew grew. Happy to see another video of your build.
Kind regards Christiaan
Yes, we needed more help with the bigger walls so we could add some sheeting before lifting
Hi! New here. My husband has asked me to pipe in on his behalf. He has been a bricklayer and stone mason for over 40 years and could not help but notice you failed to put a 'scratch coat' on the diamond mesh you have on the foundation. You needed to parge, let set up, and then scratch coat. Let it set 24 hours before applying stone. The stone that you appeared to be putting up did not appear to be the type to 'soak up' moisture and so you do not need to 'wet' it first. Performing a scratch coat gives the stone something to really adhere to and thus it bonds better and is more likely not to pop off later. He also stated to make sure you place a lot of nails in the diamond mesh. He liked your stone pattern.
Oops! Sorry, wrong channel.
Before you know it you’ll be moving out of the bus and into your dream house. California viewer
Yeah Saturday morning with my coffee in hand and my favorite show.
Loving your work. Hello from France
Kunkletown Penna . here
I’m from Colorado great job on your house
Nice looking house
Try to remember little things like that but even pros can’t seem to figure out how to frame the exterior walls . When you make the pockets for interior wall that come off exterior walls use scraps 12 to 14 inches long spaced out so you can stuff insolation in the pocket
Hey good afternoon you guys Gary's are doing good I'm proud of you guys just keep up the good work
Wow... rain no problem... you guys are fantastic!
Exterior walls, roof trusses, roof sheeted, waterproofed, then much less problems with building and rain. Then get dried in, and no problems. Finish the exterior when weather is best, work inside when not. peace and love
Best wishes from Cambridge Ontario.
Watching from Cayman Islands
Looking great folks !
Pro Tip: Based on the amount of water vapor coming out of your nail gun on each shot, you need to drain your compressor. Water forms in there due to condensation. Look for a little cock on the bottom of the tank(s). Do that on a regular basis: open the drain cock, turn the compressor on, and rock it back and forth to get all the water out. Also helps to put a bit of Miracle Oil in the hose lines.
It's looking good what a beautiful view you have.
Wait til you see the 2nd storey view!
From central Wisconsin n extra hands for lifting n holding in place are so much appreciated! Glad you’re getting it framed even though the rains came down!
Yes! Thank you!
Looking good
Awesome work.
Well done. Great job.
Man, place looks fantastic. Love seeing those walls go up. Nice job.
Love the work you are doing. Best wishes from North Norway.
It's coming out beautifully!!
great work, rain what rain. you 2 make a great team.
Drill a few 3/4 inch holes in sub floor to let the water drain
You bet, helped a lot
You guys are amazing have a great weekend GOD Bless
LOVE WATCHING YOUR WONDERFUL VIDEO IT'S WAS 104 TODAY IN MY PART OF TEXAS COLUMBUS ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND STAY SAFE OUTTHERE THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR VIDEO
Both of you doing a great job, really enjoying your videos glad the rain came and cutting down
the smoke and makes it easier to breath.
You are doing a great job.
I am watching from central Wa. Nice to see the progress and the rain.
Good job crowning the studs. I dont see alot of other builders doing that. Good job. enjoy the rain.
Centreville , MS
Make sure you check for plum on the walls, They may need to go in or out some, use a string along the top to measure the gap.
Telling ya look into a wall jack. So much safer and time efficient. They don't cost much and might be able to find one second hand.
New Zealand.
Great video. Looks like you are doing a first class job building your house.
My wife and I built 3 8' Walls we lifted one at a time, first one we had to Cat spur back out the Nalis from the first 8' wall to move into the right space then it all lined up to 24' the other way was 15 so off we went. Got help to lift that one with a Neighbors help.
Coming along! Looks great
Greg, been watching from the start of the build, your doing a great job keep up the good work, the both of you I guess your both pretty young and living your dream, never back down keep the vision and move forward. I'm 82 in a wheelchair at my computer watching many of you young people on the same mission, great to see. I'm doing mine too and having a good time even though I had a slip and had 3 strokes in 2018 Dec. I'm a fighter so I'm coming back and I even took a few steps in a walker so it's just a matter of time. I would be satisfied to be in a walker to get around but I have learned to do everything in a wheelchair, but I do good. Keep the video's coming I love to watch the progress, I did the very same thing a few years ago.
Really looking great! Rain is not helping the build, but hopefully the fires will be extinguished before much more damage is done. Be safe, love the channel!
Hi Dave from western N.Y.
What a great home your going to have. You two make a great team of carpenters. I just love your videos keep them coming and I will keep watching. And I always click the like button. GOOD LUCK AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU SAFE.
Good Job Greg and Katie. Coming along nicely. Beautiful views and property. John and Sheri
Great job! 3 walls up! Good call on bigger window. Rain will help clear out smoke and cool the temp and hopefully end the🌲🌲🌲 🔥 s 👍🏻😊!
I really love your show, keep up the good work. 😀
Great to see you are making progress on your house and also nice to see you finally got some much needed rain. Should make breathing a lot easier, plus set your mind at ease some because of potential fires close to your place. We finally received 2.5 inches of rain here in Saskatchewan also this week, very welcome sight. Keep up the great work.
Great video you two, just subscriber 2 weeks ago.. Were planning to go off grid in about 3 to 4 years from now here in Ontario
Good to see another video from y'all ! Nice progress too. Loved the drone shots too !! Waiting on the next longer video 😂 !! Vicksburg,Ms.
Good to see your walls going up I know it’s very exciting for you two, continued success in your endeavor.🙂
Hello, been in the construction industry 25 years I've seen them use water sealers on the osb for two purposes. One during the framing and future water leaks the plywood would be sealed
Yummy Whats for dinner ? Great work 💪👍🙏🥂🍺
Good job you two, you fooled me when you put up that small wall and had a window in it, I thought it was the entry side, what do I know. who were your helpers?
That side of the house will be stairs and utility room. We had Greg's mom and sister visiting, and our neighbor and his friend also helping lift the big wall :)
Looking at the air hammer, sure you have to take the water from the air bottle ai the compressor as to much water comes out of the air pistol when you use it. Remember water in your air system can be fatal for the running parts. regular empty the air bottle from water is a MUST
Love your build, keep up the good work. LOL DJK wis.
My home in Suriname
Do some research on the nailing pattern for plywood wall and roof sheathing.
Love your show you 2 keep it up
Great Work! make sure your adding oil daily to your nail gun and draining your compressor, you can see lots of moisture blowing out with each shot. Aloha! 🤙🏼
Some builders put.
Plastic down and cover the entire floor, then put the walls up, on top
Ok, now I need some red vines.
That candy is deadly
Muy lindo lo que estan contrullendo, felicidades
You kids are doing a fine job. So very proud of you. Team work makes the dream work as a very pretty young lady keeps saying on her channel... LOL
You got alot done this vlog, awesome, starting to look like a house now, its easier to square the walls and sheet them on the ground then stand them up, i know they are heavier though.
2:57....good way to take a chunk of leg off. Sandals too? Good Luck.
when is the wedding ????? you two are a great couple, hope you stay together, much Aloha.
You guys should start looking now for a professional to build all your trusses. It's almost September. Get Dried in before winter comes
If you dont have your windows dont cut out the holes it will keep the water out.
Glad to see you getting some rain! Your material will be fine. Keep working hard, you guy's are doing great. Watching from Ohio.
"I killed a chicken today" Not many people can say that.... LOL
Ugh yeah, the two lavender orpington chicks I brought home a while ago had some bad breeding I think, legs couldn't hold themselves up 🤨
I was thinking maybe an Ariel bridge rope & boards wire cables anchored to trees to cross the Creek in mid air with one car on one side and the other car ??
Maybe a tiny tree house on each side in case weather is bad..
Menudo aldelanto
Just think in about 20 years you will be in downtown. It happens everytime, if I park on the outskirts of a parking lot, everybody comes and parks next to me. same with housing, you move to the mountains the city will grow towards you
drain the water out of the compressor maybe put a water filter inline saves on tool life
Greg needed that reminder haha thanks
This is Greg here - I use air compressors all the time at work and never forget to drain the air. I never remember at home!!! Needless to say we are going to buy a new framing gun today because the seal on mine is destroyed
Nice
Hey guys you need to keep that floor covered
per all previous advice aren't you all worried about the OSB swelling from the rain?
It's held up pretty well. We just got hit with so much rain that we couldn't get it covered and had to keep working
Do you plan to spend Christmas in the new house ?
Probably not officially but hoping to have the woodstove by then so we'll at least have some space
