6:03 "wandering around until you find a new area." 100% this. As well as "… until you find enemies you haven't killed yet, indicating you're in a new area." I love the game and get its "importance" and novel level design, but this is not my favorite aspect at all, especially when the path is above your line of sight. Unfortunately, Jedi Knight and Jedi Outcast also had this same problem on some levels. Lots and LOTS of textures used over and over again and not-especially-evident switches/doors/handles. (not just not obvious, but not evident)
Great video. I'm glad UA-cam recommended it.

Dark forces is one of those games that doesn't hold your hand in regards to knowing what you need to do. It expects you to figure things out for yourself. When I first played it in the mid 90s, it was actually harder due to graphics being more flat causing depth perception to be a little more difficult. You couldn't tell always if you needed to go straight ahead or turn a corner in a corridor. But it was satisfying to be honest once you figured things out (unless it made you feel stupid at how obvious it was in hindsight lol).

Rohm moc didn't distrust technology, he didn't like the idea of killing things from far away though.
