    thank you for this info! I was told that babies at this age are not meant to sleep through the night because they need to feed every few hours and also not be too much on a schedule until maybe about 4 months, when you start introducing more of a schedule. But it does seem that it will help them feeling more secure and regulated.

      @VOs TravelwithKIDS did you keep Baby Books for your kids? My Mom did for us, & I bought them, but found that when something baby book worthy was happening, I didn't want to stop & write! But if you did, maybe that or looking at photos, smelling the smells, even songs you sang or played for your kids when they were babies - these things are like time machines, I've found. Not perfect, but maybe a nice reminder.

    Hello! May I ask, are these milestones expected at the end of the 3 month period or at the beginning ? Thank you!

      Good question. I have a list of clothes to buy for my godson and goddaughter (twins!) and I assumed 3-6 months would be right, but the twins only just became 3 months old. 0-3 or 3-6?
      For Milestones, I think by the end of "fourth trimester" as this age is often called. So towards the end would be my guess.
      If you think about grades in school, for some reason that popped into my head, you're going to learn say, reading in Grade One. During that grade, not learned before entering it. Sorry it takes me so many words, my brain is a bit foggy!

      They definitely are their unique little people. My best friend lives in France now, and calls me in tears because "everyone" she knows has babies who sleep through the night at 7 weeks. I'm sure that would be nice, but that comparing your baby to other babies thing? Exhausting. Especially when it's something achieved through something you do not want to do with your baby ("let them cry it out")

    Any tips on how to get my 6 month old baby to imitate me?

    • @amylynnhunt55
      @amylynnhunt55 10 місяців тому +1

      I'm a year late, but maybe we can someone else. If you want baby to learn, say waving and saying bye-bye, do it often! Even with a toy you're putting away. "Say bye bye to Teddy Bear!" And wave. Also you can move your baby's wrist (side to side or up/down). I think the key is repetition. They're such little sponges! Absorbing so much! You might want to check Milestones for six months, and be sure the action is something they're able to do at that age.

    It isn’t allowed to sit children at this age. I was a bit surprised when you said: sit her on your knee.
    We shouldn’t force children to sit before their body is ready to do so. Usually it happens at 5-6 months. You said your husband is a future doctor. Ask him to speak to paediatricians, sure they will tell the same.

    • @briannamcbean5637

      My child HATES to be laid back at this point. She is only comfortable being sat up, away from my body. The second you lean her back, she WILL scream. I think it really depends on the baby. Her neck motor skills are amazing at this point.

    • @agatamachowiak211
      @agatamachowiak211 Рік тому +2

      @briannamcbean5637 my little one doesn't like to lay on her back or tummy and prefers to be hold up but by doing it we can actually cause damage to their posture as their muscles and spine are not ready for that position yet (that's what I was told by physiotherapist). So although she hates it I am trying to play with her on the flor and hold her up or sit with her as little as possible so she can strengthen her body and figure out on her own how to sit up and move around by herself.

      Yeah. I think our babies these days are far beyond what doctors recommend. And she said hold her as she sits up. Not have her sit up by herself. And its not for good. But its just for a moment for strength. My 2.5 month old does it on her own.

    • @ericspicher5595

      I’ve heard that also but I think that’s just in high chairs etc.
      In newborn classes at the hospital they tell you to burp them by having them sit on your knee while you pat them.

      Just one maybe two questions. How in the world are we still doing this to each other?? Comparing what your baby can do or telling another Mother they're doing something wrong - when we could be SUPPORTING each other! Who here has had a full night's sleep for the past 3 months? Unless a baby is literally in danger? It's not our business.
      I saw a comment below - will be above - about doctors not knowing everything. Most doctors learn from text books, & not many vary from that. You're SO correct!! 🌞 She's not forcing anything, holding your tiny child on your lap? It's not like she handed bébé a lit match.

      You can turn your sound down. I appreciate her enthusiasm, and I have a migraine. So I turned down the volume & moved my phone to my lap! Let's be kind & grateful that people are so kind, they want to help those of us who don't have our own Mothers to help us & are feeling lost. We also have the ability to use *constructive* critique - "your sound is extremely high, might it be possible to turn it down a bit for the next one? Thank you!"

      @@amylynnhunt55 think of this....if you were in a club next to this girl and a comedian made that comment to her, guarantee she and others would laugh, even you. Lighten up, laughter is the best medicine. Just because you read it on the internet doesn't mean it was meant to be mean.
