- THE FINAL EPISODE!
I will remember this for the rest of my life, I'm honored and glad that you chose to tag along for this adventure, lot of learnings and takeaways. We need more of this!
I will make a lot of videos where I go through all the gear I used, the path I chose and general tips and tricks but first we go through the adventure! :)

Just a heads up, this was very challenging for me, both mentally and physically, lot of emotions as I'm sure you can imagine, I wanted this to be raw, the way I experienced it and felt it so you'll know what to expect if you decide to do it one day. There will be times in this series where I curse and loose my temper, I hope I'm not offending anyone, I do apologize beforehand!

This brings up so much memories from when we walked from Nikkaloukta to Abisko, especially the moment when you enter a normal road again and walked through the "tunnel" up to Abisko tourist station. It was indeed weird after several days out in the wild with nothing on your mind except perhaps your next meal or the sound of your footsteps.
Thanks for your videos Ted and keep up the great work.
1000% relatable! yeah, it's such a special feeling, it's passing through a portal between the wild and civilization!
We just watched the whole series in one sitting. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
Wow! Impressive! I will do a full movie too, anything you’d like me to add or remove?
Thanks for watching!
@@TedWeirum hmmm. As much as I love gear it was kinda refreshing to watch a set of videos that more than anything was an emotional journey rather than “oh hai guys I’m using the ultrafire 9000 extreme here”. The rawness and emotion you put on display put right back to when we do long exercises at work. Very immersive. Really the only thing I think I would have like to see more of were little tips and tricks, like in the last (or maybe second to last) video where you explained the pros and cons to selecting a camp site near a stream. Practical stuff like that. Explaining your reasoning behind choices you made etc.
Love it! Ok, I’ll see if I can add some of those thoughts and tips in the voice over! Thank you!!
Congratulations on the completion of your adventure! Thanks for honestly sharing your experience. It's refreshing to see the non-glamorous side of the journey instead of only the high points. Felt real.
Thanks again Michelle! I really wanted to portray every aspect of it!
looking back at it now the hardest moments are my proudest ones, it's a very powerful feeling. :)
Honestly greatest answer I’ve ever heard to “what’s your next adventure?” My wife and I are also trying to figure out the same thing out west. Lands getting more expensive out here.
Easier said than done, thanks brother
@ of course! Also did you use duo lingo for your Spanish or is that what camping/hiking in Mexico does?
@NotNormalJon don’t go to Mexico, the people are really nice, if you’re not careful you end up getting married and having kids!
@ Hey what’s the saying when in Rome. Or when in Juarez. Same same.
@ lo mismo!
Congrats to this great, great achievement! The applause you got in Abisko is well deserved. Here's more applause from me: clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap! Very, very cool adventure, thanks for having us with you!
hahah, thanks brother! you put a smile on my face as always! :)
I'm so glad I've found your channel, we are both on the same vibe, you have great content, love it very much!
This adventure is the one I will definitely challenge myself in the future one day.
Really happy Sweden is opening its borders soon for foreigners.
Thanks brother! You are very welcome to the channel! Appreciate you following on instagram too! :) if you have any questions just let me know ok!
So proud ❤🙏❤
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
After my first attempt at a real trek in 2029 I had plans to start doing more treks, longer distances, further from home, but then covid happend and not only the travel was much nore difficult but the fysical and mental health I needed to built up for something like that were in short supply for large parts of the last two years.
Despite that seeing your stuff does keep that desire to go out and have adventures alive in me.
I can totally relate! one thing I realized was that even if I didn't always feel like going out, once I was there I never ever regretted a single time! I always learn or gain energy from spending time outdoors!
Ted, Very well done. You deserved that round of applause when you got to the end. The relief on your face spoke a thousand words. Great summary and round up of the trip at the end.
Totally agree alone is best!
Boots boots! (My ankles are very flexible and to easy to twist!)
You didn't mention socks.
Really looking forward to the next videos. Really grateful you shared this with us.
i mention the socks in the gear video! thanks for watching all the way brother! :)
clueless to why you dont have more views than this epic content!
That makes two of us brother, there’s no stress! I’m glad you saw it and like it!
Be proud. You have done it. 💪
Thanks brother! I am! :)
Very late to the party watching this. Great insight and thanks for answering the question.
better late than never brother! :)
My wife and I watched the video. We busted out laughing with the drone crash. Lol. According to her, you're a good looking guy, btw. Life time of memories. Glad you're back, recovered and more adventures to come. Peace
haven't I always told you that your wife is very smart and has good taste! she chose you for a reason! :)
I promise, nothing or no one is safe once that drone leaves the ground!
Just awesome Ted!!!! Thanks for taking us with you and share your feelings!
My pleasure brother! more of this to come in the future!
What an adventure you had! Wonderful to see it all through your videos. And man, what a nice touch that you wanted to finish with the Fjällräven Classic.
It was amazing meeting you near the end!
yeah, it was quite the adventure my friend! the pleaser was all mine, really happy I got to meet you and say hi to your mom! so proud of the both of you for doing what you did! it was quick but I hope you saw the photo of us at the end of the video! :) cheers mate!
Hats off to you! This adventure was so inspiring that it made me want to do the green ribbon hike one day. Thanks for sharing! Too bad we don’t have as nice mountains here in Finland. 🇫🇮
The nature in the north of Finland is breathtaking at times too! it's really just hockey that you guys need to improve a bit! ;)
@@TedWeirum dude, that hurts! 🙃
Congratulations and thanks a lot for sharing!
My pleasure Stefan! :)
Middle of no where, I hope it is maybe near Norrköping Kolmården
hahaha, hjärtat är alltid i norrköping! :)
Congratulations Ted!
Thank you Rob! :)
Love the hell outta U man!! Total stud!! Good show sir, good show!!
hahahah, the need to go Texas grows stronger every day my man! :)
Would be cool if you made a dedicated episode about the gear you had with you
Would be cool if you watched the video coming on Thursday that is exactly on that subject! :)
@@TedWeirum I will :)
It’s refreshing to see a guy just go with the gear he have and not counting grams
Loved all the episodes
Some amazing stuff, brother! Major kudos to you for finishing this journey. Keep it up and glad you’ve recovered.
My pleasure Kyle! it's nice to feel strong again! :) more coming!
Welcome back Ted
Thanks brother! :)
Congrats (belatedly!) for completing the trail! Thanks for taking us along and all the videos you made, much appreciated. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thanks brother! it was all my pleasure! :)
I got some Abisko pants, but I don't think it's the same as what you did. 😬
Close enough friend! :)
A house in the middle of nowhere sounds perfect!
If you have lots of land you should open a campsite for us to visit from England in our Campervan 🤩
Good to see you’re feeling strong 💪🏼
That is kind of the plan! :) it would be great!
@@TedWeirum good luck Ted 👍🏼
Kudos Ted, helluva hike :)
Thanks brother! yeah, it sure was! :)
I mostly enjoyed watching your trials and tribulations, but I seriously have little idea of where you were, where the green belt route is, where the overnight stops were as you didn't share any maps with us.
True! when you look at the website for the green ribbin you see that you can choose a couple of different routes, I was pretty much in the middle of nowhere most of the time, I wanted to focus on what you mentioned, the trials and tribulations, the challenges, when it was time to sleep I was dead beat, not that much energy left for filming. but I suppose your'e right, it would be nice if I'd share the route! I'll see what I can do there for the film! thanks for your input!
One question for you good sir - if it’s too personal don’t need to answer but how do you take time off like this for that sort of longer adventure with a job/jobs? Asking as a curious father that would like to be married to the outdoors/family versus his job, too.
Really good question brother! sorry for the late reply! it's a combo of stuff, I had some parental leave left and then I combined that with vacation. I needed time to recover when I came back and I wanted to spend that time with my family so I added parental leave to that part.
of course this was an adventure for me but it was just as much a job, filming and all those things to one day be able to earn a living doing what I love! :)
Complete gear review of the total hike? 🙏🏻
= next video coming on Thursday! :P
Hi Ted. First of all, congrats for the amazing achievement! After watching all the trail videos with some deeper thought and seeing some of the high and low moments, one question particularly came in mind what I find interesting. You said you did this for yourself (which is great BTW) and wanted to challenge your body and mind. Now after time has passed, do you find more or less irritating how people tend to complain about smallest things in everyday life? :D For sure after that experience and challenge, you see things now differently. :)
thank you! I found that irritating for a loooong time now, but I catch myself there at times too, that's why doing a thing like this can really remind you how good we actually have it! :) good point!
@@TedWeirum Thanks for your response. :) You´re right. That´s really hard to remember nowadays, like you also mentioned in the Q&A section. Anyway, thanks for the videos and keeping them honest. Got at least me thinking about things. :) And that is always good thing. :D
What kind of training regime you had for your legs to have enough stamina and ability to withstand the continuous beating of these hard trails?
Going for the 2022 classic and have to prepare my legs for it :)
Brother!! This is by far the best question I’ve ever gotten! :)
Like I mention in the videos I do strength training daily for my whole body and then I go on shorter adventures regularly to see how everything is holding up in smaller scale, I recommend you go on day hikes with a loaded pack. Start light and short and then add distance and weight as you progress!
Kudos!
Haha btw "Genau" in German means "Exactly!" at least in a general context :-)
thanks for letting me know, the translate I app I used left something to wish for there! :) need to practice my German!
❤️
