The British May 1940 counterattack was at Arras, up north, in Belgium, but it's easy to see how someone could get them mixed up. Looking forward to the future play-through, once someone designs HQ cards! 😀
During your final thoughts I noticed the bookshelves in the background. Would love to get a closer look at your library! ** I think I see some David Glantz titles back there.
I think that can be arranged! Your eagle eyes do not deceive you, there are indeed a fair numberof Glantz's works on the shelves. When I get some time, I can put together a little video tour, and I'll be sure to point out some highlights. Thanks for watching!
Just set mine up Doug. I'll let you know what I think of it. Played Panzers last Stand and that was an awesome experience. I still want to play PLS here in Arizona at Consimworld GameExpo 2022.
Not sure of my 2022 con plans yet, but if I'm heading out to CSWE next year, I'll be sure to let you know, as PLS would be a great game to play that week.
Yeah, I'm not sure why they didn't use them from the beginning. OCS has been using the same stripes for multi-unit formations forever. You would have thought it would have been a no-brainer to do the same thing with the BCS formations. I'm glad that Dean and MMP are continuing to refine and polish the BCS with each new game released. And I'd say the future of BCS looks pretty solid, with several projects in various stages of development and playtesting.
No, sir! The LB campaign playthrough continues. I am nearly done filming the next episode. Unfortunately, I am on the road until Thursday, so I won't be able to wrap up that episode's filming until late this coming week. Then I'll need to edit it and get it uploaded. Looking ahead, I will likely evaluate the situation on the 22DEC turn to see if there is much point in continuing on. So count on the rest of the 20DEC turn, plus the 21DEC turn at the very least (and most likely the 22DEC turn as well).
Yea, added to the queue....4 more game days to finish my experiment out to 3 jan. Oh, then there is PLS and then second edition AGC, EFS Series. Maybe end of the year!
@@rickbish9995 If you are referring to the Arracourt map in the video, the table is just over 4' wide by just over 6' long (51" x 74"). That table is also large enough to fit a 4-map game like LB.
I do indeed have a wish list. I'm not sure Operation Goodwood would be a good fit for BCS, but I do agree that the Kharkov battles are likely good candidates. The top game on my BCS wish list is Operation Market-Garden. It would be an excellent fit for BCS. I know some preliminary work has already been done on the game (maps and OB). The game will feature all three British routes. I've also talked to Dean about the fighting in the Don bend in late July-early August 1942 as the Germans drove for Stalingrad. He, too, had thought about that as a subject for a game, and it looks like it would be a 1-2 mapper. I'd be interested in seeing Operation Mars, but I think it might be a bit too big for BCS handle. Anything bigger than 4 maps isn't going to get the green light from the publisher. Another topic would be the France 1940 campaign, but again, it would be too large for a single BCS game. Perhaps splitting it into an Armee Gruppe A and Armee Gruppe B twin game set (that could be linked) might work. I do think that BCS is the system that could recreate the May 1940 campaign in the most playable, yet historically plausible, way (without having to resort to a bunch of "idiot rules" for the Allies). So to quickly recap: 1) Operation Market-Garden 2) Don Bend (Jul-Aug '42) 3) Operation Mars 4) France '40 5) Kharkov
Wow. Your list is awesome. Count me in in your petition (where do I sign?). Curious on how the airborne aspect of Market-Garden will be presented. I had some reservations with any early period of WWII, however, I think BCS allows players to handle these periods with a good chance to win (yes, even France in 1940) and have a good gaming experience. After playing Baptism by Fire and Brazen Chariots, the system is a great teaching tool ( my son finally understand why these operations turned out the way they did) and show very well the command difficulties each player might face. Even playing German in Panzer Last Stand is quite a "blast" (Germans in 1945! who knew.). Keep the good work and looking forward to more of your work. Thank you.

I cant play any of the earlier ones now without the color stripes

@thetabletopsedge yeah some of those upcoming titles listed in the blog are right up my alley
My man. I can’t believe I haven’t discovered your channel before now. Between TSWW and BCS you’re covering my two favourite systems haha.
Nice unboxing. Looking forward to the arrival of my copy.
I got my copy on Saturday. I can't wait to take it for a spin.
Still waiting for Arracourt to cross the pond and land in England /drums fingers/
looks good. are you done with Last Blitzkrieg?

I like the system a lot. Can't wait for my copy and looking forward to other battles to be added.
Any wish list for more BCS? How about Operation Goodwood? Any of the Kharkov battles would be fine.
