How do sit-ups as punishments teach the kids to perform the volleyball skills that caused them to lose in the first place? It seems like a waste of valuable gym time to me. The point of doing 2v2 games is to increase the number of touches but taking time out to do the 'consequences' cuts down of the reps. If you want the kids to do sit-ups for conditioning then why not just do them at home or after practice so you don't use up valuable court time? I don't get it.
The consequence for not teach the ball handling skill. It adds an element of performance under stress and strength/stamina conditioning... And that is a volleyball skill (players need to learn to perform under stress)
