Watching Shigaraki grow over the course of the series has been so refreshing. He's grown a lot as a character and is showing that he's slowly growing into being a capable leader. Man has been fighting for a month and a half with barely 3 hours of sleep every few days. At the beginning of the series, he probably would've just complained the whole time. He's got the drive of an anime protagonist and that plan at the end was 10/10. Plus Chaos!

It's crazy too cuz at first you think he's going to be written off as a one one-time villain but damn if he don't feel this question is everyone else by this point if not more
When All for one was saying that shigiraki had a mutation he meant that his quirk has no relation to his parents. The same thing is with Eris quirk.
Shigarki 'Dusts' people because of censorship. In the manga it always shows blood from injuries and deaths he causes.

I seriously recomend you to read this section of the manga, (that starts in Ch 218) because with this first episode, they cut important content like:
-Redestro first appearence which leaves a huge first impresion of the guy.
-Spinner past
-The league of villains fights a group of people called "the creature rejection clan" which are racist againts people with visible mutations type of quirks.
-The poor state of the league of villains before they found the doctor
-More details of why the meta liberation army wants to defeat the league of villains.
Edit: In the manga is stated that the league was contacted by the doctor one month before Endeavor was attacked by the Nomu.
When they first met the big guy it was two months ago then they fought him for a month and half after they met him and Dabi was talking about hawks and the doctor was asking Dabi to help with the nomu that attacks Endeavor
Multiple clear-ups
Timing….They met the doctor before Endeavor/High End. Shigaraki fought Machia during the joint training exercises. The league versus the army takes place right before Deku spent a week with Endeavor.
Shigaraki fighting - when you say that Shigaraki can’t do anything to Machia, dudes skin is layers of stone. It’s feasible that he can decay off layers of Machia (who can heal). Plus, the goal is for Shigaraki to make Machia submit, which doesn’t have to mean defeating him. It’s earning respect. Surviving Machia for months is building respect. Something Shigaraki will do, later, seals that deal.
That stuff about the Leagues successes, it’s easy to forget how effective they’ve actually been. Season 1 and 2 had battles that they lost, but succeeded in making society be afraid/lose trust in heroes. They were successful in attacking the training camp and taking Bakugo. They scared UA enough to become a boarding school. They spent season 4 taking out Overhaul and sending the super nomu after Endeavor. This season - they ascend. All of Season 6 will be a war arc.
A lot of the stuff you guys have thought, in the past, to be non essential plays a factor much later. Though a lot of the joint training arc WAS pointless. I’ll give you that.
As for the power left for Shigaraki, it isn’t Machia. Shigaraki keeps being called All for Ones HEIR for a reason
The dusting is supposed to be bloody. The show is inconsistent, going back and forth between censorship and accuracy . Sometimes they animate blood (one flashback had shiggy bloody another didn’t) sometimes it’s just dust. In a later ep they even try to do both showing dust THEN showing blood on the ground.
Saying that next season is a war arc is essentially spoiling it even if they can predict it, but they need to see a lot of this, because so much of the time they unfortunately just engage in bad faith with their theories.
Even with joint training, we see multiple individual plot points and old+new quirk info (arguably “pointless” unless you actually do care about the character arcs of the students, though again there’s more of an issue with the anime dragging out the fights too much) that come to matter during the war. Class 1B is not forgotten in all this.
@@dearestkyra true. I was talking more about plot significance than character growth when I mentioned joint training. At the very least, MVA should have gotten one more ep, so they wouldn’t have to cut stuff from the beginning of the arc. They could have trimmed a training arc ep or two to let other things breath. The hero exams at the end of season 3 were only a handful of episodes and had as much/if not more happening.
@@nsampone3 fair enough. Yeah MVA definitely should’ve had at least one more full episode. I definitely would’ve been fine if the first couple JT fights went a little faster paced in order to carve room for the rest of the season. I think the filler ep also makes this whole thing more frustrating.

Now you understand why fans were so mad about Studio Bones changing the order of the arcs? At first fans were ok with that decision but they ended up "spoiling" the end of this arc and also lowering the quality of the season A LOT.
Everything that happens here takes place well before the Endeaver Agency arc.
A common theory is that the Doctor and All for One are trying to create more people like Gigantomachia, who are loyal followers with multiple quirks that retain some kind of ego and personality. That's what the Nomu experiments are for, but as we've seen so far most of them are failures in that they pretty much just become mindless zombies.
The end of last episode was the Doctor experimenting on Shigaraki himself, with the goal to make him someone that can handle multiple quirks while keeping his mind (which would tie well into Deku also unlocking multiple quirks atm). Bear in mind that chronologically, that experimentation is happening after he events in this episode.
Like a few other people have mentioned, the swapping of the arc order makes the timeline more confusing that it needs to be tbh, and now we kinda know some of the result before it happens.

I love MVA but in manga. Bones ruined the arc in anime. Just for do marketing to the movie. It's the worst arc adapted in BNH so far.
