I have heard a way to “iron” vinyl is to press your ironing board and while it is still warm, lay the vinyl on top of your ironing board and the residual heat will help the vinyl relax but not melt.
I agree on having stabilizer that you can iron

I made one of these bags and it was a lot of fun. I have one of the Lori Holt Quick Press Rollers and they work really good at pressing fabric when an iron can’t be used or any time. I get the creases out from the vinyl by having my iron on a low heat and get a pressing sheet and put that on the vinyl and then iron it. Or put it out in the sun for a bit.

Finally started making mine today, all finished except for binding. Oops forgot to cut that. I only used 1” tissue paper.
