- This car would have qualified as "conspicuous consumption" when new! Beautiful, custom bodies were available, and I'm guessing at the year of manufacture. A force to be reckoned with!

That is beautiful. Is there a central division in that, that winds up? There is a lot of structure behind the front seats and some kind of structure in the roof above it. And it’s amazing that top folds down under the circumstances. I love the trunk. The British and Americans share the same language but particularly for cars use different words to describe the same thing. We call the engine cover the bonnet and Americans say hood, which is ambiguous to me because we call soft tops a hood. However it’s fair because bonnet and hood are both a type of hat! It is so obvious how the American luggage compartment got called a trunk when I see this Packard - I have no idea why the British refer to it by the name of a kind of footwear! 🤣
Hey, Mick! Yes, there's a handle to raise and lower a glass panel housed in the structure behind the front seats. The area in the roof is probably designed to add some dimension so that the space between the front and back of the cabin can be relatively sound proofed. I wouldn't want to be responsible for raising and lowering that top! The "B" pillars are removable so that you get a clear space when front and rear door glass is lowered. Thanks! :) Jack
