4:40 I apologize for the mistake here. As the creature is roughly three million years old and the Kharaa bacterium has only been on the planet for about a thousand years, the Gargantuan leviathan found in the Lost River likely died due to other reasons.
You made another mistake. The sea emperors did not die after reproduction , (they most likely took significant care for there offspring ) it just so happens that the one you meet in the game was thousands of years old and kept alive only by there drive to make sure there children could lead happy lives out in there natural habitat, and after there children are let out into the wild she dies no longer have any reason to continue living.
thankfully there's an actual Juvenile(possibly) skeleton somewhere in the ghost forest (a sub Biome to the lost river) so the huge one you were talking about is an adult
They should make a Subnautica game where one can travel into and explore the dead zone, and maybe find new nightmarish creatures and biomes and who knows, maybe the Gargantuan Leviathan might be one of them.
New items/ideas. Prawn suit depth module MK 3-6 each increasing depth by 500 meters. This allows the prawn to go to depths of 3700 meters. There could be a reinforced cyclops for deep sea exploration. Also there could be an actual depth that kills you the player if you aren’t in a vehicle. Like 3000 meters for example. Also because you are going to the dead zone you should get more weapons to fight off leviathans. Biomes could be an area infested by the leviathans you see at the orange tablet cache in the lost river. They certainly look like they tunnel through the ground so this could be an interesting idea. Also you could go through the tunnels dug by them and find valuable resources there. Another biome could be a leviathan nest that is so large it counts as a miniature biome. Most likely it belongs to the Gargantuan leviathan. Then the edge of the dead zone. Inhabited by ghost leviathans and occasionally a large leviathan. The devs could also implement some good new leviathan ideas from the community. But hey this is just pure speculation.
SpeedyMouse yes!, in a future update they should make it that if you go to far into the void a scene plays, as you look down and see a massive creature like the gigantism leviathan going right for you, and as you panic and try to swim away you look down again and then you are thrown into the air and you look down to see a giant mouth opening with reddish yellow eyes swallowing you whole

I feel like the Gargantuan Leviathan ended up eating some of its companions or children. There’s another skull and set of ribs similar and very smaller than the main one in the Lost River. Saying it likely did get stuck in the most river and died there, it either had kids or companions which it ate in an attempt to survive. So I believe it’s likely for this creature to have cannibalistic features. It’s also possible it could eat the bones of the other creatures, since from almost all skeletons, several bones are missing, especially with the “Biter” Leviathan as some people call it, and the other smaller Gargantuan Leviathan is completely missing the rest of its ribs. None of the skulls(not including the sea dragon since this happened MUCH later) have any parts of their body in tact which would have bone marrow inside of them. It’s just the skulls left. Also with this info, how it’d eat the bones and leave the skull behind, I have reason to believe that this creature: A) Has an extreme gender difference where males are much smaller than the females(like angler fish) Or B) When reproducing, only gives birth or lays one egg, telling that they don’t need to reproduce much due to their great numbers of incredibly long lifespan. Doing some math, I found out that the whole body should be 14763 feet long. That’s almost 3 miles, which is 33 Empire State buildings. Yes you read this correctly. 33 Empire State buildings. And the tallest building, which is around 2000 feet, is dwarfed by the leviathan, about 7 of those skyscrapers would equal the length of that thing
GOD ZEFKIEL I feel like the google estimates we have 400m for that one part of the skeleton, wouldn’t be accurate. That makes a sea emperor half the skeleton we get, and I’ve seen comparisons where the sea emperor literally fits in its mouth. I think the estimate people give for the full leviathan is more accurate for the skeleton. So I worked off that
I guess it because he/she is rather new as most youtuber are on the platform for at least 3 years if they are not already well known and he/she is only 1 year here
If the devs release a demo for there next installment in subnautica, they should have this one area where it’s completely devoid of light and when players enter it,then the PTA starts saying some babble but the only two words you can understand are “Titan Leviatha-“ then you have this weird sonar thing that is shown on the screen and it picks up the leviathan.
Nice, I'd very much love to see more like this. Just a wee bit suggestion for you though, try to match background sounds with the overall theme of the video. All the best 🙂
An idea me and one of my friends discussed once was that a game all about an ancient architect city in a certain very deep but still thriving part of the void that was over run and destoryed by leviathan and you explore the city and the strange areas surrounding it that still have life and plants but ones that the likes of have never been seen yet because they survive in other ways instead of just using sunlight. Kinda like all the plants you can find in the Lost River, down there they don't have sunlight yet there's still grass-like moss, those were glowing plants that scatter the walls and even an entire you know? GIANT FREAKING TREE!!! So all the way in the void it is certainly plauseable that we could have a few biomes and things but having a precursor/architect city thats all broken down would be really cool to see
believe it or not i found baby gargantuan leviathan skull slightly buried under plants not to far from the big one in the lost river so the big one was not a baby just wanted to throw that out there :D
We know one thing - this leviathan must've been slim enough to fit into the Lost River /!\ SPOILERS BELOW /!\ Gargantuan Leviathan could live in the void swimming around the crater eating creatures that got lost and swam into the void. One Gargantuan Leviathan said "i'm different from other girls" and swam to the bulb zone's lost river entrance. Soon after exploring Lost River he got stuck cause he was so *fat* and after all the creatures biting him he eventually died. The Ghost Leviathans could grow and lay down eggs 'cause they've had alot of food and a safe habitat. There were so many that they couldn't live only in Lost River, they split up and swam to Grand Reef, Kelp Zone and The Void. As time went by, the ones living in Kelp Zone and Grand Reef couldn't feed themselves, so they started fighting for food, only the strongest ones remained. The Void ones hovewer killed the Gargantuan Leviathan (because there were so many Ghost bois), they are now living somewhere in the depths of The Void, eating that leviathan. They are protecting their territory now.
Yes, they do, but they also eat creatures who stay into the void and would probably kill the Gargantuan Leviathan if they could. Although I would think it would be too powerful...
Oh dear oh dear, it seems some people haven't been reading with attention to detail! I shall now quote from the PDA on this topic: "The fossilized remains of an extinct super predator. Its sheer size would have prohibited it from entering such an enclosed space, suggesting the geography of the planet has shifted around it over time."
@@SpeedyMouse Sure. It's a good video, but the PDA actually tells us a bit about these lifeforms, and paying close attention to those details would help refine your content and weed out any inaccuracies, such as the theory that it was the Kharaa Bacterium that wiped out this species.
And here I am, too scared to go to any biome where there is a single, small, reaper leviathan spawn. I feel like exploring the Lost River will make me cry
The fact that there was once a leviathan that was nearly A MILE LONG scares me... also there are theories that the skeleton of this creature ISN’T EVEN FULLY GROWN!

Spedy has some awesome videos, and im still trying to figure out if hes a genius 13 year old or if hes been through college and just has a young voice. Either way keep up the good work man
One kind interesting thing about the Leviathan is that the Leviathan kills via crushing or ripping like a crocodile as it's teeth don't seem like it is very good for ripping and tearing like a shark but rather to bite on and never let go, possibly doing a death roll due to its rather slender-ish body allowing effective death roll, helping it to rip out large chunks or flesh to eat and eventually kill it's prey
Never played Subnautica but god dam this was interesting. + you sound kind of young and know so much stuff and know what ur talking about... Quality content.
Now there's a group of Modders that are working on implementing the Gargantuan Leviathan Into the game. I suggest you look Into it if you haven't already.
2:32 wasnt the only reason the sea emporer died after birth was due to the fact she was living much longer than she was supposed to. Only staying alive to make sure her babies survived.
they could launch a third game of subnautics something like "Subnautica: First of all." that would tell the story of the planet even before the architects arrived there, a period when the gargantuan and other major leviathans were still alive .. it would be really sick.
we can see a juvenile in the area where the dragon leviathan skeleton is where you can either go towards the exit or go towards the first cube, if you go up towards the green waterfall you will enter an area that's really easy to miss, there is a huge cut down tree there that's being guarded by a ghost leviathan.
Great video man!!! I've only recently seen info about this laviathon and have been hugely interested ever since. Seriously love subnautica and its story though. I wish I could play it again for the first time. Blew my mind and shit my pants at the same time. Frikken fantastic!!!!!
They should make it so that there is a small chance if you spawn all three ghost leviathans in the void, the gargantuan leviathan would rise out of the dead zone and grab one of the ghost leviathans and leave which causes the other leviathans to flee.
The only thing I want to point out is that I’m pretty sure the Sea Emperor was a special case, they don’t naturally die after their offspring hatch, the one in the game was simply waiting to ensure that her children hatched, before ALLOWING herself to die…she’d lived much longer than the species would normally
Just wanted to point out that, the sea emperor leviathan that we find in game has probably lived thousands of years past its normal life expectancy to keep the planet alive and take care of their eggs, and when the eggs hatch, it finally allows itself to die, and a read in the wiki, use the last of their energy to play with their babies. basically, a normal sea emperor doesn’t die after giving berth.
Just discovered your channel, great video! You're very well spoken and add a lot of great details, and the background footage just ties it all together! Edit: Great theories too, this channel has a very bright future
The gargantuan leviathan skeleton in the ghost forest is the adult. A juvenile gargantuan skeleton can be found away from the ghost leviathan territory at the lost river.
If this was ever in the game, i’d want the gargantuan to have the most unnerving and terrifying roar that comes from everywhere, so you have no idea where it is. But all you know is the roar is getting closer, and you don’t have enough time to get away.
The hunt for the Imperator Leviathan in an Atlas sub, with specially designed Moths &/or Prawns acting as backup, in the dead zone, could B the plot for a 3rd Subnautica game, titled Abyss. It could even have multi player.
2:30 the sea emperor leviathan did not die once it gave birth because it is how they lived, but it died when the babies hatched because it wanted to save the planet and waited until the right person did the right thing to hatch them. We know this because the sea emperor was long overdue, but what you are suggesting is that the sea emperor would die as soon as the eggs were laid
You make good points, but in terms of feeding patterns I doubt the Gargantuan Leviathan fed on plankton, based on the skull's teeth arrangements and shape, it was a carnivore. I'd also think it had ways to reduce it's body's energy consumption through massive fat stores, a slow metabolism or just hibernating throughout most of its life unless hunting/mating. The tentacles that exit from behind it's skull we're probably used for catching prey ( similar to jellyfish/octopi), detecting changes in water temperature/vibrations/chemicals, or for display and courtship. It probably fed on other large creatures/leviathans as a food source, remember 4546B had a vastly different ecosystem when these creatures existed, the ocean was probably richer and more diverse in life. There most likely existed plankton feeding leviathans in the deadzone, similar to the Reefbacks, Glow whales and Vent garden, that provided sustenance for a creature such as the Gargantuan leviathan.
Im sure that, considering that gargantuan leviathans were so big, other leviathans and smaller creatures would attack the bodyparts of that arent near the head of that creature, so they couldn't be attacked and they'd bite chunks of meat off the gargantuan leviathan. This could be a reason they went extinct, too.
I find it likely 1 parent raised a juvenile gargantuan leviathan, as we see an adult in the bone fields and a juvenile in the ghost forest. And, even though it’s not canon, a juvenile lives near the Aurora & an adult lives in the Void in the Return of the Ancients mod.
There could also be a different death by going into the list river as a juvenile to gain Territory or more nutrients but after growing from the food they would have a larger diet , but with the The limited nutrients in the lost River and could not all escape from it growing to be from there time down there.
4:40 I apologize for the mistake here. As the creature is roughly three million years old and the Kharaa bacterium has only been on the planet for about a thousand years, the Gargantuan leviathan found in the Lost River likely died due to other reasons.

How does it add up to dalamadur.
So I worked off that
And in kilometres 4.823 km which Is crazy I would not want to find this boi anywhere
I love how u can just see the videos get even better every video! Great video! Like i said
Thank you! I really appreciate it :)
That’s way more explained than I thought, like Jesus good work man, you are so underrated
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it :)
probably the most interesting theory video yet! keep up the great work
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! I will :)
This is about as fascinating as a midnight history channel. Well done!
Thank you! I'm glad you like it! I really appreciate all the support :)
Imagine the Atlas could dock a cyclops
That's a pretty crazy thought...
They should add that lol
Draconis looks better than Cyclops imo.
yo bro, this is like actually good quality content. keep it up seriously my man
Can someone explain to me why u don’t have a million subs?!
All in good time :) I'm glad you liked it!
I guess it because he/she is rather new as most youtuber are on the platform for at least 3 years if they are not already well known and he/she is only 1 year here
This dude needs more credit his videos are so good!
Reproduction is the least expected thing to exist in this video xD
~KRlS from discord
Lol, yeah XD
If the devs release a demo for there next installment in subnautica, they should have this one area where it’s completely devoid of light and when players enter it,then the PTA starts saying some babble but the only two words you can understand are “Titan Leviatha-“ then you have this weird sonar thing that is shown on the screen and it picks up the leviathan.
Also I love these Subnautica theory videos keep it up.
Thanks! I appreciate it! Will do :)
You're honestly really good at this! Good job.
Thanks! I really appreciate all the support!
Nice, I'd very much love to see more like this. Just a wee bit suggestion for you though, try to match background sounds with the overall theme of the video. All the best 🙂
Thanks! I appreciate all the support! I'll keep that in mind when making new videos, thanks for the feedback!
the fact that this is maybe a 8 year old is wild keep up the good work
I was 14 at the time lol
@@SpeedyMouse oh sorry then i didnt know also u have a new sub
nice man kinda helps me trying to figure out about the life of the gargantuan/titan leviathan
I'm glad I could help you figure that stuff out!
So all the way in the void it is certainly plauseable that we could have a few biomes and things but having a precursor/architect city thats all broken down would be really cool to see
That would be awesome!
believe it or not
i found baby gargantuan leviathan skull slightly buried under plants not to far from the big one in the lost river
so the big one was not a baby
just wanted to throw that out there :D
Oh really, that's cool. Yeah, I figured it wasn't a baby, but it might not have been full grown yet.
@@SpeedyMouse maybe
Yeah we really don't know for sure.
Were exactly?
It is located in the Ghost Forest section of the Lost River. I have seen it recently and its really cool. I would suggest checking it out.
Damn this vid was very well made, enjoyed your theorizing. Hope you go far!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the video :)
We know one thing - this leviathan must've been slim enough to fit into the Lost River
/!\ SPOILERS BELOW /!\
Gargantuan Leviathan could live in the void swimming around the crater eating creatures that got lost and swam into the void.
Yeah, I was thinking. How the heck did that gigantic Leviathan get there... Nice theory tho :)
Yes, they do, but they also eat creatures who stay into the void and would probably kill the Gargantuan Leviathan if they could. Although I would think it would be too powerful...
Oh dear oh dear, it seems some people haven't been reading with attention to detail! I shall now quote from the PDA on this topic:
"The fossilized remains of an extinct super predator. Its sheer size would have prohibited it from entering such an enclosed space, suggesting the geography of the planet has shifted around it over time."
@@MrGrim-ck7qj Ahh, yes thank you that explains it. That's what I figured when I was making the video.
The mod is crazy and its only a baby
The fact that there was once a leviathan that was nearly A MILE LONG scares me... also there are theories that the skeleton of this creature ISN’T EVEN FULLY GROWN!
Damn, this guy’s good at being a youtuber
Thank you I appreciate it :)
“There’s always a bigger fish”

I love the way that this guy talks, he is SO intelligent and I love the way that he articulates every word.
There actually is a juvenile, that one is an adult, and it died as it was trapped but also laid eggs, as there is as juvenile right there
Maybe they ate the skin of the ghost leviathan o_0
Maybe. That's possible. But if they ate the skin they probably would just eat the entire thing.
SpeedyMouse it would give an explanation for ir
@@geis990 Well maybe they're transparent for another reason. Like maybe a long time ago that trait used to be useful.
SpeedyMouse ye
Can't believe this thing was actually added in a mod.
Hello friends. I hope you will have a good weekend.
Thank you! You too!
You’re welcome.
a kid at ur age deserves the love and support
subnautica: before the kharaa
Now that would be an epic game!
This is actually good and I'm surprised by how he sounds young but also not the Johnny Johnny yes papa content creator and how his videos have more quality than yt rewinds
Subnautica : The ancient world
Now that would be an epic game. Or something like Subnautica: Before the Kharra.
But who would we play as?
@@The_Attack_of_Geek That would be one problem. But I'm sure Unknown Worlds is creative enough to find someone.
@@SpeedyMouse oh, maybe play as the precursor that would be really cool, like your mission is to build the gun and fix the based
@@The_Attack_of_Geek That would be awesome.
Those Leviathan bones are an adult because a little bit away you can find a smaller juvenile skull that looks exactly the same just smaller
For a kid this video is actually really good with the science words and there accurate good job man
You just earned yourself a subscriber. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
You too! :)
Just a man out here getting his grind major respect lil homie
Spedy has some awesome videos, and im still trying to figure out if hes a genius 13 year old or if hes been through college and just has a young voice. Either way keep up the good work man
One kind interesting thing about the Leviathan is that the Leviathan kills via crushing or ripping like a crocodile as it's teeth don't seem like it is very good for ripping and tearing like a shark but rather to bite on and never let go, possibly doing a death roll due to its rather slender-ish body allowing effective death roll, helping it to rip out large chunks or flesh to eat and eventually kill it's prey
Interesting...
this is really good man! keep it up.
Thanks, I'm glad you like it! Will do :)
I’m glad i got recommended this!
well Aci finally got to answer our question!
True!
Never played Subnautica but god dam this was interesting. + you sound kind of young and know so much stuff and know what ur talking about... Quality content.
Now there's a group of Modders that are working on implementing the Gargantuan Leviathan Into the game. I suggest you look Into it if you haven't already.
A good bit of detail for someone who sounds so young. Good job.
Speedy i just wanted to thank you for not adding a dubstep intro to your vids LOL
this thing eats ghost leviathans for snacks
2:32 wasnt the only reason the sea emporer died after birth was due to the fact she was living much longer than she was supposed to. Only staying alive to make sure her babies survived.
Yes, true.
they could launch a third game of subnautics something like "Subnautica: First of all." that would tell the story of the planet even before the architects arrived there, a period when the gargantuan and other major leviathans were still alive .. it would be really sick.
That would be cool!
we can see a juvenile in the area where the dragon leviathan skeleton is where you can either go towards the exit or go towards the first cube, if you go up towards the green waterfall you will enter an area that's really easy to miss, there is a huge cut down tree there that's being guarded by a ghost leviathan.
Great video man!!! I've only recently seen info about this laviathon and have been hugely interested ever since. Seriously love subnautica and its story though. I wish I could play it again for the first time. Blew my mind and shit my pants at the same time. Frikken fantastic!!!!!
Not bad for 500 subscribers
Sub count doesn't determine quality. Anyways, soon I'll be way past 500, I gain 170+ subscribers every 30 days.
They should make it so that there is a small chance if you spawn all three ghost leviathans in the void, the gargantuan leviathan would rise out of the dead zone and grab one of the ghost leviathans and leave which causes the other leviathans to flee.
That would certainly be epic. But they'd have to make it really rare.
Everything ever lived on 4546b:we got you 2 billion to one
Gargantuan who ate half of them in one bite:
I like those odds
The only thing I want to point out is that I’m pretty sure the Sea Emperor was a special case, they don’t naturally die after their offspring hatch, the one in the game was simply waiting to ensure that her children hatched, before ALLOWING herself to die…she’d lived much longer than the species would normally
Just wanted to point out that, the sea emperor leviathan that we find in game has probably lived thousands of years past its normal life expectancy to keep the planet alive and take care of their eggs, and when the eggs hatch, it finally allows itself to die, and a read in the wiki, use the last of their energy to play with their babies. basically, a normal sea emperor doesn’t die after giving berth.
your'e voice is calming idk why it just makes e want to listen :P
Just discovered your channel, great video! You're very well spoken and add a lot of great details, and the background footage just ties it all together!
Edit: Great theories too, this channel has a very bright future
Nice Vid! I think you'll make it big
The gargantuan leviathan skeleton in the ghost forest is the adult. A juvenile gargantuan skeleton can be found away from the ghost leviathan territory at the lost river.
Great vid! Keep up the good work
Thank you! I will :)
If this was ever in the game, i’d want the gargantuan to have the most unnerving and terrifying roar that comes from everywhere, so you have no idea where it is. But all you know is the roar is getting closer, and you don’t have enough time to get away.
9 months later and this young legend still liking comments
You are my favourite UA-camr and you give facts
Appreciate the bio lesson my guy
Just imagine every time this creature had to reproduce it would feel like an earthquake every hump there would be a shake
Nice vid your voice is so soothing
3: on its own. A few minutes later 3: maturity.... lol
This is a cool channel I hope you reach 1k subs!
Thanks! I'm glad you like the channel! We're making our way up there :)
It is possible they could have been overrun by other creatures, but it isn't as likely this happened to all of the species.
@@SpeedyMouse Yeah. Some could of have survived thanks to hiding.
True, and there are other reasons like they are probably faster than the smaller leviathans.
I like the name of this leviathan, the Imperator Leviathan. Makes it sound like a BEAST.
It certainly does! I like it too!
I find it likely 1 parent raised a juvenile gargantuan leviathan, as we see an adult in the bone fields and a juvenile in the ghost forest.
And, even though it’s not canon, a juvenile lives near the Aurora & an adult lives in the Void in the Return of the Ancients mod.
well all i know is that it's scary as all hell, thanks subnautica modding community
There could also be a different death by going into the list river as a juvenile to gain Territory or more nutrients but after growing from the food they would have a larger diet , but with the The limited nutrients in the lost River and could not all escape from it growing to be from there time down there.
If the Creature was alive, it would die very quickly because of it's never ending hunger.
That's probably true. Which is why it likely only existed back before the Kharaa.
