I have an 03 X5 4.4i, it is not beat up like this one. I have spent a lot of money in getting it road ready by replacing both front axles, control arms, subframe bushings, ABS module, water pump, thermostat, all steering and coolant hoses, valve cover gasket, valley pan gasket. I saved a lot of money like you by bringing my own OEM parts and paying just for labor. Other things like air filter and cabin filters are super easy to replace on your own. The good thing is my X5 had absolutely zero options, so no rear air suspension or any fancy electronics that can fail over time. It's not a car you want to flip for money but a car you want to own personally just for the sake of driving enjoyment, yes it beats the latest X5's for driving pleasure and road feel. The car is still rock solid with zero to little rattles and the interior looks brand new, but then again I really baby this vehicle.
No, it's a 6.2 gas. Got it from TX probably like 9-10 years ago, and it's been a long road trip/tow rig since then. Super solid, but obviously a little dated now.

Sheesh, what a headache 🤕. Glad you got through most of it though.
My uncle has an 08 with this motor.
It looks like hell, but it runs good.
You got a Lil ocd like me car noises drive me crazy 😂
You are correct 😅 and I always look for issues now. A little noise is automatically a red flag until I figure it out
Shoulda put it right back on copart the next day
Honestly I probably should have, this one was one of those where you open a can of worms and just try to contain what you can 😓
Got a 16 Cadillac Escalade have to replace my rear air suspension and pump like 2k in parts
Is this for new parts, or used parts from a donor car?
