MJ's fadeaway is more about elevation.
Kobe's is more about hyperextending the spine backwards. Part of why he is the black mamba.
MJ is quicker, more explosive, stronger, has bigger hands. When you watch them you can tell Kobe's shot relies more on fundamentals and perfected technique. They're not as identical as people think.

No lie but I think THIS season up and coming is gonna be one of the greatest seasons we're ever going to witness, Melo back in NY, Kobe is back, Rose is back, Lebron back in Cleveland, Super potential rookies since a long time, the sophomore's are gradually getting better, Paul Pierce and Garnett is no longer the big 2 without Allen they all split, Allen possibly moving with LBJ, and to top it all off, the East and West are going to be better powered than last season.

People also don't realise how much MJ was more athletic, physical and strong than Kobe ! Mj got Big hands that allow him to make everything he does look easy. Mj could jump quicker, higher, faster than Kobe. So please ! Aknowledge Kobe for what he's capable to do with less natural gift than Jordan. Kobe is my favourite player ever because,in the beginning, nobody ever though he would become the legend he is now ! He made his way through works, works and only works ... i Don't say Jordan didn't work (he is the best ever and this will be for a long time), but Kobe is an unexpected phenomenon !
