I was never a DS guy, or nintendo. My first nintendo console ever was the Switch. And I never understood the hype over the DS. But through the years and your DS videos I now see what an awesome console it was and how many great games came out for it. So cool!
@@marcon7852 for me it's a combination of graphics (2D sprites = timeless, shitty low tech 3D early 3D = psx era nostalgia), the console itself just playing the games not making any airplane noise while reading a game, the fact that the time the psp was super impressive with its ability to browse the Internet, shop for games, dlc, themes etc etc.. But now it's sluggish and fridges can do that shit so simplicity is key, and yeah as I said the library being so vast
I'm glad you featured Aliens Infestation in this video. It is a really solid Metroidvania styled game. I really hope it gets ported/remastered to both current consoles and pc. Definitely a love letter to the franchise unlike Aliens Fireteam Elite. I'd also recommend checking out their The Mummy Demastered for current consoles and pc. Yet another solid licensed Metroidvania by Wayforward. And both Dementium games were worth buying. Real shame Nintendo doesn't try to make great exclusive FPS games lately.
@That Video Games Show, No worries. I think it originally released back in 2017. It was based on the Tom Cruise The Mummy Reboot film. Definitely the best The Mummy game ever made. The ones made for the fun Brandon Fraiser trilogy were typical crappy licensed stuff.
Fully agree with what you said about saving in survival horror games. Of course the game's main goal should be to scare you by actually scaring you, but it should also make you want to survive. A punishing save system can fill the gap between video game and reality in that aspect.
I love the content, but you know what really keeps me coming back here? The Tekken, Ridge Racer, Katamari Damaci intro's and outros. You have a good ear for music man.
Here’s an underrated DS game that I’d love you to cover and I think you’ll like: Big Bang Mini. It’s super cheap and I really recommend it, it never ever gets talked about!
I've been playing Glory of Heracles on and off since the tail end of the DS era, its pretty enjoyable. It's an RPG, if you like RPGs like that, go ahead. The music is nostalgic for someone who grew up with sprite games on the GBA and DS. I grew up with the DS, so seeing so many games that I could add to my collection is so cool. I have been looking into Star Force, and have Elite Beat Agents. I would add, although it's shovelware, Zhu Zhu Pets. The racing system is excellent, but that may be my nostalgia. Chibi Robo DS got released in English? The concept of park beautification is right up my alley. And it's a rhythm game?! I'm sold.
I hope Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword makes part 2. Seems totally forgotten in modern times and amongst all the regular console re-releases. It was very easy on first pass, but it's kinda like a tutorial for the harder modes unlocked after. I thought it was a great action game though, especially considering it's played with the stylus.
i like this channel mostly because of the obscure titles and.... the music. jesus h christ the bgms tracks this man picks is godlike. you got taste good youtuber.
I only recently picked up a DS Lite for $30 in mint condition. Came with two games: Spiderman Shattered Dimensions and Rhapsody A Musical Adventure. These are the types of games I'm interested in. The big name ones you can find information on with a simple Google search but stuff like this you never hear about. The only one I had heard of was Aliens Infestation but Glory Of Hercules I've never heard of and I'm interested in.
I was wondering, if you were to make a follow up your Forgotten Wii Games video, you could include Eledees (A.K.A. Elebits). It's a criminally underrated game and is almost universally unknown. And if you were to do a follow up to this video sometime in the future, could you please also include its sequel, Elebits: The Adventures of Kai & Zero too?
Honestly, Starforce may be cliché or corny, but it actually tackles a lot of deep themes like depression, lose and mourn, I can say it's probably the best story in a Megaman game.
Some of my favorite underrated DS games are Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja, Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns, Rondo of Swords, and InuYasha: Secret of the Divine Jewel
I think one of the best forgotten DS games is Bangai O Spirits... i know i know its Treasure again and their awesome games always end up being "hidden" gems, but all the same check that one out.

If you are ever gonna work on a sequel of this video, could you add Zoobles: Spring To Life? It's a childhood piece of mine, and it turned 10 years old last month.
I'd actually forgotten about the game over system in Dementium and thinking about it, it might've annoyed me back in the day but overall I still enjoyed it a lot.
Love the videos! Would you please consider adding chapter timestamps for each title? Makes it easier to see which game is showing while tuning in while working. Thanks for the great content and gaming reccomendations!
Good vid with some interesting games I gotta check out now but… think on ur toes?!? Is that like having one bird in hand being better than a screen door on a battleship? Or It’s all of your friends jumped off a bridge, Would you hug a kid with nuclear arms?
My god I've been trying to remember the name of the game Glory Of Heracles for so long. All I remembered was that fight on the boat and the tomboy chick. I'm totally gonna go back and play it now, THANKS! Also love the Ape Escape 3 music, Terada Knows how to make a damn good ost.
@@TheRuneTail not necessarily. Could be poor advertisement, released at time of other major releases, people just bored of the gameplay style. Doesn't mean it was a bad game. Like how can people who have not played the story, say the story was bad? If that's the reason it didn't sell? Could be people were not fond of the 2nd games story. And has nothing to do with the 3rd game.
I'd like to digress on the first Megaman Star Force game. It really didn't sell very well even in Japan; in fact the plot and story of Geo Stelar's was so depressing that it actually contributed to it's negative review. Megaman Star Force 3 was the best in its Trilogy, though. I respect your opinion.
Just wanted to say thanks for the videos. So many games I never knew about I'm now playing because of discovering them in your videos. Quite amusing the paid thanks comment got deleted.
Funny. I’d say that Star Force’s gameplay is a massive step down from Battle Network. But the writing is top notch and worth slogging through the gameplay for alone. It deals with sensitive and mature topics in an appropriate way, and doesn’t talk down to you about things. My only issue is that it should’ve gone after an E10 rating so they could’ve been more explicit about some of the things they wrote about. It’s a fantastic game nonetheless, though.
While Dementium 1 is kind of a hidden gem, Dementium 2 is downright awful and clunky as all hell to play. The combat is horrible, especially against the bosses, and don’t even bother with the HD port on Steam.
Funny how these shows always end up containing a big chunk of games I own. Tokyo Beat Down, Elite Beat Agents (and both Ouendan!), Dementium, Aliens, Glory of Heracles and even a full boxed copy of Solatorobo!
