I actually like the us integrated brake light and signals but thank you for sharing how to do this :)
I love that you show all the steps. I don't have the guts to try any of this myself yet, but I know where to find a guide when I do. Thanks!!
They look awesome! Very slick. I was doubtful that the replacements would look as good as the stock ones because I like the stock signals. But these do a great job and blend nicely with the overall look of the bike. They enhance the modern aspect of the modern classic design without going over the top. I've seen some aftermarket replacements where the blinkers are too close to the headlight and taillight but that's not the case here. I also like how they light up progressively.
I agree that some are too close in proximity to the headlight! These have an extension accessory to bring them out a bit more if I ever feel they are tucked in too close as is.
Nice look, clean and mean.love your cap!
Great video, super motivating. Just got a 2022 Speed Twin, and put a quick 250 miles on it. Went ahead and ordered the Euro taillight and signals......got them today......and found out today that the wiring harness connectors are incompatible with the 2022 model :(. I'm not an electrical splicer, more of a plug and play guy, so back to the distributor they go. Super helpful and fun videos, thanks Adam. Now I wait for the aftermarket or 2022 Triumph parts availability to catch up.
That’s very cool. Looking very sleek.
Those turn signals look really good. Now I want a motorcycle to tinker on too... and some Crystal Pepsi!
Enduro!
dam I remember Crystal Pepsi
Great job, I’m getting some now 👍
Man that looks good! I’ll swap mine out as soon as I can order the euro spec light.
Nice video! It looked like a real bowl of wiring spaghetti right at the end, but came out very neat. The 2020 Triumph T120 Ace edition also has the rear blanking plate. Your video should work just as well for installing the same assemblies on that bike.
Yes! That looks a lot better!
The English stop lamp is so much better 👌🏼
Did you have to get a set of Rizoma FR218B Turn Signal Adapters for the front and rear to install all four of the Rizoma signals?
Lovely bike
I am looking at getting a set of these for my Vulcan S.
Very sharp
Great vid.. Love ur videos
Ha Ha, Adam in the UK the Speed Twin comes standard with the sort of indicators you are retrofitting. The option in the UK is to go to the LED set up you have on your bike as standard - funny old world isn't it!
I added these to my 2003 Honda 919 and don't like that they don't have daytime running light functionality. Other than that they are amazing.
Looks so much better than the ugly and obtrusive turn signals Triumph Canada and the US put on their bikes. The Euro versions are sweet; low profile and sleek, thanks!
Hey Adam,
I noticed at the end of your video, it showed a pack of the rizoma turn signal adapters. (Not the plug & play wiring adapters). Are those necessary?
Does your hazard lights still function after replacing the turn signals?
Thanks
Yes the hazard's still work! I did use the adapters, in the front i installed them on the back side to act as a washer. In the back they were used as intended to cover up the mounting location to hide the ugly plastic mounting surface.
@@AdamCroll thanks for all your help. Im a copy cat of your style. ;)
Idk. I think the stock US multi-function lights are the best I've seen on a modern retro bike. These would look more at home on the Speed Triple R IMO.
Hate to say it but those are not very bright at all... can you even see them in the sunlight? Seems dangerous to me.
Very sleek 👍🏻
Here in Brazil the speed twin already comes with LED flashes. but you have to see what model and year this is. But I think that in Europe the 2020 models already come with led
What part # adapters do you need for signal lights ? Do you need them for front and back ? Thanks
Why didn’t triumph make the seat fit instead of seeing that rounded bar at the back and maybe be able to make more room for a pillion. Enjoyed the video tho
Hi Adam, thanks for sharing, and the bike looks awesome. I'm planning on doing the same on my 1200XE Scrambler. Question though, why didn't you incorporate the brake light and indicators together? I'm assuming the indicators either don't have that capability or a red LED. Keep the videos coming really enjoy them.
It was just a personal choice, I have never really cared for integrated tail light turn signals. over the years I’ve had a few and most of them felt and looked cheap to me.
Hey Adam, trying to do this right now with my Triumph Scrambler, bit ran into a couple issues. Looks like A&J provides the necessary harness for the Speed Twin kit to go from the multifunction lights to whatvyou installed. But with the Scrambler kit, there is no harness. The Euro style tail light isn't compatible with the multifunction harness, so I'm stuck with the whole bike apart. I'm wondering if the Speed Twin harness that came with your kit would work for any of the other 1200 modern classics. Seems like the necessary subharness for the Scrambler simply isn't available anywhere right now. Any idea?
Rizoma , good quality stuff if a little expensive
As you say it’s better than the cheaper options
That are out there 🤔, it’s really tidied up the back
Of the bike , you any more plans for the speed twin ❓
All the best, Mark 🇬🇧🍺👍🏻
I do have more on the list of upgrades! Stay tuned! 👍🏻
Those very slick and trim, good job . Do you know were I can get hold of the repair manual for the new speed twin ? Thanks and keep up the good work!!!
I haven’t found a repair manual for it yet, but I’m sure the Thruxton manual is 95% accurate I’m sure those are readily available!
Hmmm. Nice indicator's, not sure they suit your bike, to modern for a retro, But hey to each his own, if you like them then cool, thanks for sharing.
Adam, these don’t seem that bright in your video. I’m wondering if it’s just an artifact of the video or the view angle. Can you comment on their brightness relative to stock? Any idea how they compare to the euro-spec LEDs both brightness-wise and visibility off-angle? I’d like to go this route but am a little worried that they aren’t bright enough or only bright when viewed from directly in front/behind. Thanks! Love your videos!
I'm of the opinion that if the bike came with these skinny minimalist signals people would be changing them out! Haha, that's the nature of customization "must remove stock components"! But Rizoma will not get my cash, I'm ordering some shorty levers from Pazzo ;)
Do you know where to get plugs for the turn signal cancelling module. I do not want to cut into my wires. 2018 triumph speedmaster. Thanks
Hey Adam I was wondering if there were any mounting nuts included with the tail light assembly? I just got mine, there's no mounting nuts on the light and looking at the bike it looks like two bolts that thread into the blanking plate. Any info would be of great help. Keep the vids coming!
Yeah mine did not come with nuts either, I just ran up to the hardware store and bought metric stainless to fit.
@@AdamCroll that's what I thought I'd have to do, thanks. Also I got in touch with a dealership in the U.K and have the euro spec turn signals coming in shortly, can't wait to put them on
What is the difference between the English stop lamp and the U.S version?
Looks so much nicer with the euro spec tail light, wish the US market also received this set up. Curious though, did the tail light kit also include the rear wiring harness?
Yes it did come with the wiring harness.
@@AdamCroll Thanks much for the response.
Awesome but a 360 view would be nice at the end
So I have to literally jam the round peg into a square hole. So much for plug and play. (I also did this on a very hot day.)
With the proper wiring adaptors it was plug and play. No jamming of any kind, nice proper snap into place.
so you need to buy 4 of them?
$84 x 4 = $336
am i correct?
Yes, technically from a&j cycles they came in pairs but yes the end price is close to what you asked.
@@AdamCroll thank you for your answer. i really love this turn signal but it so expensive.
exactly. the price is insane. lol
I changed out to the club style lights on my Speedy. For the rear how did you wire it up? I used a cable staple to de-pin the stock female connectors to use on the Rizoma club s.
When switching to the euro taillight the harness comes ready to go, it was plug and play. Rizoma has the adaptors to go from oem triumph to bullet style connectors that the rizoma come with. As stated in the video that was the only extra thing needed to complete the connections.
@@AdamCroll I used the bullet adapters for the front club style. I missed the part about the wire harness. I'll have to look into it for next time I open mine up.
Hey Adam does the stock one lights up when you hit the rear brakes ? Mine doesn’t for some reason not sure if that’s the way with all speed twin or just mine is faulty.
I meant the rear brake lights when you hit the rear brakes
You should put a novsight motorcycle h4 led in the headlight
I’ll look into that, thanks!

This one is really good
I did not see you tried turn in your hazards. Did they work?
They do work
Where did you get the spacers/plugs for the rear signals?? I’ve been looking and can’t find them.
A&Jcycles.com
Adam, thanks for sharing. I was wondering if you had to do any cutting or splicing in your install for the tail light. I just purchase the speed twin 2020 model (which is very similar if not the same) and I want to do a similar thing to my tail light. Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer back.
It was all plug and play, all you should need if you buy new turn signals to go along with the euro tail light kit will be wiring adaptors most places have adaptors designed for most popular turn signal brands. I went to A&J cycles and got the rizoma wiring adaptors, I think they are sold in pairs. You’d need two pairs.
@@AdamCroll much appreciated you taking the time to answer my question, I know we are all busy . Looking forward to your next video.
Are you Tom Cruise brother? 😆
Triumph do smaller diameter, shorter stem versions of the bullet indicators. Not sure why you guys in the US got the ugly bulbous ones. The progressive animation in those rizoma's is really cool though!
Because I’m the US there is no separate tail light. A really dumb design decision.
The US market always seems to get shafted with euro imports. Like all the BMW’s shipped here in the 70’s & 80’s with the giant diving board bumpers!
Hi Adam! I just wonder if I can install the turn signal without the wiring adaptors?
Thank you very much
Best,
Adaptors are needed unless you feel safe to cut and splice the wires. Adaptors allow it to be returned back to stock form if you ever needed to.
Isnt it less visible than those factory lights ?
I’m sure it is slightly, however it’s pretty bright!
are the front turn signal same with the rear turn singal?
Yes the front and rear are the same.
@@AdamCroll Thank you for the reply. One more question, Does both front and rear need the adapters or just the front?
The front will need the adaptor pigtail that matches the turn signal brand same as the rear.
@@AdamCroll Thank you
@@AdamCroll adaptor pigtail?
Any issues reliability wise so far with the Speed Twin? Deciding between this and a HD Roadster and know those are pretty solid. Any input would be great, thanks and keep making the bitchen videos !
I’ve only had my twin for a month or so (1200 miles) and no problems. I’ve had two previous triumphs and both were great bikes.
John Sumser thanks for the info! Any trouble getting parts and are they any pricier than HD?
It’s been a great reliable bike so far! No major issues at all. Just a few minor things but I’m sure Triumph will iron them out pretty quickly. After owning this triumph I’d choose this over a HD any day!
Nice ;-)
Does that new wiring harness come with the Euro spec tail light?
Yes
@@AdamCroll , is T2701236 the only thing you needed to purchase to make the tail light swap? Are there any additional nuts/bolts I'll need?
As far as the tail light, yes it will be plug and play assuming you buy the stock euro turn signals. I bought the rizoma turn signals so they also sell wiring adaptors and mounting adaptors to cover the stock mounting surface because all aftermarket turn signals tend to be much smaller in size.
The ones you took off are way better dude. Your gonna regret this mod and switch them back, mark my words.
Europeans prefer the American lights!
I think the old round shaped indicators were good... With these new one the bike lost its classic look
Modern Classic!!
@@AdamCroll
Yes..yes....... modern classic. ..
The space ship lights?
The classic Triumphs did not have huge turn sign lights, so what you are talking about is perhaps the symbols of classic bikes rather than the actual classics.
I like the speed twin, but I wouln't buy it again. The fact that you need to change literally everything on the bike from incompatible factory shock absorbers, plastic easy-to-break turn signals to the cheap-ass seat they put on it, and each costs a fortune... I'm starting to think it's better to buy a Harley or a touring/adventure bike, even if its ugly, but you don't need to mess with all of this shit. Not to mention my Twin's engine became faulty after riding only 5,000kms. Waiting a fking month to be able to ride again. Triumph... bikes look great, but that's all. you need to replace the complete bike to get something usable.
