This song should've been a lead single and would definitely hit #1 spot. It has Eternal Flame and It Must have Been Love vibe.
I met her in Cleveland, Oh.,(My oldest brother took me, who then played in a reggae band). She treated us just like old friends. She did songs from when she was in a band called "Blue Angel"...had such a beautiful voice, + the stayed where I worked on weekends,rare evenings, at my mom's job. I remember her talking without the music + she had such a New York accent!
I thought (wow, I didnt hear it when she sings). She lit up the room with such great energy!
I remember so many copying her haircut then, + w/several colors(*I thought of her when I started seeing so many now w/all the hair-colors(but the colors seemed, gentle, not so extreme).I was still in school + my parents/nuns at school, would've had a field day). It's great to see her work continue, and her beautiful voice continue on this journey, sharing her gift + music!

Maybe the studio didn't market it properly, and her image wasn't that different from prior albums. At same time Madonna had a revolution in image updates. It might have played a factor unfortunately.
Com certeza,eu não entendo i entendo ao mesmo tempo,não fizeram muito conta do album,ou melhor,fizeram as músicas não se tornarem Hit i outros não se tornarem sucesso,por conta da má divulgação do album em vingança a artista,a gravadora fez de propósito por não ser correspondido seus caprichos,mas assim mesmo teve uma boa vendagem,só não teve mais de um hit,mas teve 4 sucessos,1 a nível mundial,2 moderado i outro sucesso pequeno
A mesma coisa eu digo,mas ao mesmo tempo sabendo,que a gravadora prejudicou o album não divulgando igualmente divulgaram os dois anteriores i a cyndi Lauper também errou,não lançando as músicas que deveriam ser lançado como single mundial,como "i don't want to be your friend

The vocals are on point, with the fire, power,and delicacy, altogether in Cyndi's voice. What a great vocalist you are Miss Lauper! You can move mountains with your voice!!! The most beautiful song ever done, maybe by anyone, but by Cyndi. Her voice, on this tune, is perfect. Not just a performance artist, but a talented, honest-in-mood, range-reaching singer. Another singer I put in this category, is a lot different, but in what you hear (and, not just with the ears) is...Elvis Presley. I see (and hear) similarities in how they feel what they're singing....if that makes any sense. IDK (and.really.IDC) if it does to anyone else, it does to me.

This was supposed to be on the vibes soundtrack but the producers/record company wanted a more upbeat song so they went with hole in my heart, then cyndi wanted it to be a single for a night to remember but the executives didn't approve and later (1991) the song was given to Susan Hoffs from the bangles and became a moderate hit at the time.
