In addition around the east coast the banks move all the time - wells bar can easily move three feet or more in one tide. The channel here snakes around like a ...... snake. In wells they drive out on the sands with a low loader tractor to move the bouys.
It must be a huge task to maintain all the buoys and channel markings in the small inlets and creeks. Wonder how they managed before GPS ?
