  • Well, it's been 6 days since the Florida Panthers eliminated Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers... and it still hurts. And I think it always will.
What is up guys, welcome back to another episode here on AboveAverage! If you are new to the channel, you're a beauty and thanks for clicking on this video!
Well what do you think guys? How is everyone coping? I know for me, everyday is getting better and better... but making this video brought all the pain back again lol! This video was honestly kind of random, didn't really know where it was going to go, I just pressed record and gave out all my initial thoughts on the series, and what to expect for this Oilers team going forward.
If you guys are new to the channel, thanks for all the continued support. You guys are absolutely crushing it and made this cup run very memorable, even though they fell short.
90% of you guys are still not subscribed ain't I hate asking, but I'm expecting a big summer here at AboveAverage... and I would love for you to be apart of it. So join this journey with me, I'd really appreciate it! Leave a like as always, and drop a comment. I'm really curious what y'all have to say.
Thanks again everyone. Will see you in the next one.
Don't be Average, when you can be AboveAverage.

Oh sorry one more thing. Thanks to Bouchard taking 22 second behind his net with 54 seconds left in the game. Pathetic. I hope he gets 8 million next year.

It would be pretty foolish to leave a team that made it to game 7 of the cup final if your goal is to win a cup. Leon isnt going anywhere.

I remember the 2006 lost in game 7 SCF. I was 10 years old. I was quite emotional. That run made me fall in love with hockey, and I became an oilers fan.
18 years later the same thing happened again. I feel you man. It felt so empty the following days.
I do hope that this run has brought more fans to hockey and more fans to the Oilers as well.
Overall, I am still so proud of this team and their resiliency all year. I hope for the best for them in 2025.
    Go oilers go!
Edit: Btw I found your channel earlier in the season. I'm so stoked for you and your future content!

I definitely thought Edmonton was going to win Game 7. They had their foot on Florida's juggler. Home Ice advantage was the deciding factor.

I am not one for conspiracy theories...well except for that Elvis one, JFK, oh and Freemasons, but I digress. However, if you did believe in conspiracy theories in the NHL and wanted to see Florida prevail in game 7 you would pick the Officials that were selected for game 7. Why, because the record for Florida with Dan O'Rourke is 12-0-1and 3-0 in these playoffs and the Oilers 0-3, with Kozari they are 2-1 these playoffs, the Oilers 0-2. Now I am not saying the ref's cheat but they do officiate with a style that benefits Floridas strengths and hampers the Oilers. The Panthers were allowed to interfere and obstruct freely in game 7 and actually end up with a 2-1 man power advantage...with paper thin margins that was enough advantage for Florida.

Watching the playoffs highlights are bittersweet.
So close yet so far. I can't believe how it all ended still.
This team deserves another Crack at it. But obviously it won't work that way. All we can do is hope they can pull it off next year.

It’s so difficult to get back to the finals but I really think the Oilers could. The style of play, that balanced team defence and offensive power, is a sustainable system. I know that I won’t be so hard on this team during the regular season. It has to be so difficult to be “up” for each and every game.
They need a couple of moves to improve the overall balance but they are definitely in the top tier of the league. Thanks for the video. 👍
